"Is this really your fifth mission?" Yang Xiao asked.
"Of course, why? Do you think I’m not qualified?" Takagi Reina raised an eyebrow.
"So, you’ve successfully cleared four missions, then you must be an Angel Envoy," Yang Xiao reasoned.
"That’s right," Takagi Reina nodded.
"Then I’m curious. Since you’re an Angel Envoy, why are you still in this line of work, and haven’t you thought about going back to your father?"
In Yang Xiao’s impression, someone who’s cleared four missions shouldn’t be in such a poor state, at least not drinking with people for money, it’s too demeaning.
"Hey, hey, hey, what’s it to you if I’m a drinking hostess? Are you perhaps enamored by my beauty, trying to hit on me?" Takagi Reina placed her hands on her hips, glaring at Yang Xiao with a cautious look, suggesting some confrontation.
Yang Xiao didn’t argue; he just continued taking off his pants. Seeing this, Takagi Reina was instantly silenced and hurriedly explained, "I’m an Angel Envoy, but my ability is pretty lame. I... I can’t make a decent living as you guys do."
"A non-combat type Resentful Eye?" Yang Xiao asked with interest, "What’s your ability?"
"Never drunk no matter how much I drink," Takagi Reina said through gritted teeth, feeling somewhat aggrieved.

"I’m a performer, not a prostitute," Takagi Reina clutched her chest, resolute not to comply, looking at Yang Xiao as if he were one of those despicable bosses who came to buy drinks.
"Alright, Miss Takagi, no one’s after your body. Just look, with my face, if I were in your line of work, I’d be a top earner." Yang Xiao had enough of Takagi Reina’s looks.
But to Yang Xiao’s frustration, Takagi Reina’s gaze was filled with suspicion, as if questioning why he was so confident. In a moment, Yang Xiao realized the problem: his face was not in prime condition right now, having been swollen from a slap by Slap Girl Yamamoto Chunai at the start of the mission.
"No more words. Today, you offended Yandeta Chiyoda. That old man’s petty and is sure to retaliate in the future. I don’t like her either, so we can work together."
"I don’t need anything from you. I’m not interested in you, but if I make it out alive, I can grant you a condition."
"I can give you money to boost your sales, or help find your long-lost father, provided he’s still alive." Yang Xiao urgently needed to recruit a teammate and considered Takagi Reina a suitable candidate.
"Can you really do that?" Takagi Reina questioned, "Chu Xi, I’m not new to places like this. I’ve heard lots of empty promises."
"I’m not like them. I’m much stronger. These things are no problem for me," Yang Xiao said seriously.
Perhaps it was Yang Xiao’s confidence that swayed Takagi Reina, who agreed to collaborate with him, as it was beneficial for both.
Having cleared many nightmare missions, Takagi Reina knew how important a reliable teammate was. In the absence of better options, Yang Xiao was a decent choice.
They talked for a long time, with Yang Xiao deliberately bringing up topics to verify the authenticity of her background through her responses.
The night deepened, and the corridor outside was eerily quiet, giving Yang Xiao a sense of being forgotten, as though only he and Takagi Reina were the living beings left in the building.
"Let’s arrange the night watch. You’re the boss, so it’s up to you," Yang Xiao said, glancing through the gap in the curtains. This area was relatively remote, with few homes having lights on.
Yang Xiao was sitting at the table, with a missing person notice laid out before him, along with a sticky note beneath it.
The note contained a list of station names copied down by Yang Xiao before everyone left, along with a phone number.
The number belonged to Sasaki Sakura, memorized from Sasaki’s recitation of her "sister’s" number.
"Wow, didn’t know you were so good at that, memorizing it after just hearing it once," Takagi Reina said, looking over at the number with appreciation in her eyes.
Having now allied, the stronger Yang Xiao was, the greater her chance of survival.
Although they couldn’t fully trust each other yet, it was definitely a good start.
Yang Xiao glanced at the clock on the wall, "It’s almost 10:30. I’ll take the first shift until 2:30 AM, and then I’ll wake you to take over until morning, how does that sound?"
