Chapter 1497: Chapter 909: Deathmatch (Part 2)

This ghost is terrifying. Once you’re targeted, you’re dead. He thought there was no escaping for him and Shu Shuang, but he still held a glimmer of hope that the ghost would leave after killing Shu Shuang first.

This wasn’t mere wishful thinking. Compared to Shu Shuang, he had an advantage; he had moved out of the area where he initially hid. If the ghost only killed one person, it would definitely be Shu Shuang.

Shortly after Liu Yang fell to the ground, something unexpected happened. Footsteps echoed in the hallway, growing closer, heading straight for him.

"Tap, tap, tap."

The footsteps were light and pleasant, with a hint of relief, yet they filled Liu Yang with terror. In his current state, he felt like a lamb waiting for slaughter.

Soon, the footsteps stopped outside the door. The door, which was ajar before him, was pushed open, and a figure stood in the entrance.

At this moment, Liu Yang’s consciousness was already blurred. He could only see a vague silhouette, but as the figure approached, Liu Yang recognized that it was Shu Shuang. No, it wasn’t. It was the Fierce Ghost disguised as Shu Shuang!

The real Shu Shuang was already dead. It appeared the ghost had killed Shu Shuang first.

Liu Yang didn’t understand why the ghost, after killing Shu Shuang, immediately came for him. But it was too late to ponder now; the moment the Fierce Ghost appeared, he knew he was doomed.

Shu Shuang walked straight up to him. At this moment, Liu Yang could no longer lift his head. From his angle, he could only see a pair of legs standing in front of him.

The next second, a foot was lifted, and before Liu Yang could react, it kicked him hard in the face, instantly breaking his nose. The intense pain made the dazed Liu Yang let out a muffled groan.

And that wasn’t all. Several more kicks came down, stamping heavily on Liu Yang’s head and face.

He could barely move, only to be slaughtered. Soon, his head and face were covered in injuries.

At this moment, Liu Yang’s remaining consciousness detected something wrong. This wasn’t the way a ghost killed. Ghosts wouldn’t do this. This was a person, a person venting their anger!

Immediately, the figure in front of him squatted down, reached out a hand, grabbed Liu Yang’s hair, and forcibly lifted his head, making him face her.

At that moment, Liu Yang gradually saw clearly; it was Shu Shuang’s face but now stripped of its previous foolishness. Her brows were furrowed, her eyes fierce like those of a beast, "Brother Liu, I told you, if you deceived me, you wouldn’t have a good end."

"Why..." Liu Yang, with blood oozing from the corners of his mouth, had several teeth kicked out.

"Did you enjoy the coffee?" Seemingly wanting Liu Yang to die with understanding, Shu Shuang smirked, baring her teeth with a sinister smile.

At this moment, Liu Yang’s eyes slowly widened. He understood everything, that cup of coffee was poisoned. This woman had poisoned him!

"Bitch..." Liu Yang cursed defiantly in his final moment, slurred, which only enraged Shu Shuang. She grabbed the pen holder that had fallen to the ground and smashed it repeatedly on Liu Yang’s head until he was a bloody mess, barely breathing.

Staring down at her bandaged left hand, Shu Shuang’s anger grew. She grabbed Liu Yang’s left hand, pressed it onto the chair, and lifted the pen holder, smashing it down again and again until his hand was broken, the thrill of revenge greatly diluting her fear.

Shu Shuang didn’t kill him, nor would she, as he was still useful tonight.

Liu Yang was utterly rotten, planning to use her as a Substitute Death, unknowingly, Shu Shuang had the same idea, intending to offer Liu Yang as a sacrifice to the ghost tonight.

To ensure nothing went wrong, Shu Shuang also used scissors to sever Liu Yang’s Achilles tendon. Honestly, the scissors were clumsy; she was a surgeon accustomed to the sharpness of a scalpel.

After doing all this, she didn’t further torment Liu Yang, for it was unnecessary. Moreover, she could hear a dull knocking sound at the end of the hallway.

Grabbing his foot, Shu Shuang dragged Liu Yang like a dead dog out of the room, pulling him back to the office and planning to tie him to a chair.

Shu Shuang’s plan was simple: first, control Liu Yang and then use him as a Substitute Death. She had heard Zhang Jianjun mention the Headless Ghost’s killing method involved locking onto a person’s location with the sound of knocking before teleporting to kill them.

But it had a flaw, which was that it required time. As long as she kept changing positions, she wouldn’t be locked onto. Not being locked onto meant not being killed.

This time was about 6 to 7 minutes, but Shu Shuang decided to play it safe, planning to change positions every three minutes.

However, Liu Yang, whom she had under control, wasn’t so lucky. He had to die tonight.

Just as Shu Shuang turned to get the rope she had prepared, an accident happened. Liu Yang suddenly lunged from the chair where he had been slumped, head down, not moving, knocking Shu Shuang to the ground. The two of them overturned tables and chairs, scattering the things on the tabletop all over the floor.

Liu Yang’s left hand was a bloody mess, but his right arm still had strength. He wrapped it tightly around Shu Shuang’s neck from behind, trying to strangle her to death.

Meanwhile, he cursed incoherently, accompanied by terrifying roars, not caring if it would draw the ghost here.

Liu Yang knew he wouldn’t survive in this condition, but he definitely wouldn’t let Shu Shuang go. He wanted to take Shu Shuang down with him.

If it were Liu Yang in his prime, he could break Shu Shuang’s neck outright, but not now. He had been poisoned, severely injured, teetering on the brink of death.
