Chapter 1219: Chapter 813: The Invisible "Person" (Part 3)

No one stepped forward to interrupt or dissuade, not even Adila. Everyone’s mood was equally heavy. Listening to the cries, they unusually found a sense of relief rather than annoyance.

In the Nightmare World, life is too cheap. The vibrant life of the day may wither by the next night. Tonight, someone else will leave.

But the mission must continue, even if only one person remains.

When Shari cried until her voice was hoarse, Maria and Davi also approached. Together with Aisha, they helped Shari up and led her to sit at the table nearby.

Being women themselves, they understood Shari’s pain and fear better, sharing a sense of tragic mutual sympathy.

"Let’s continue." Yang Xiao sighed. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

During that moment, Yang Xiao did not waste time. He consulted with Musa and proposed a new plan, a plan that Musa suggested, carrying significant risk.

Musa stepped forward, looking at everyone, cleared his throat: "Ladies and gentlemen, the plan I propose carries certain dangers, but please understand, if we don’t quickly find that ghost or confirm its identity, we’ll all die, sooner or later."

"Next, I will close the door, light incense candles, and everyone will close their eyes, holding hands to form a circle."

Before the words had fallen, Yang Xiao had already begun to act. He used the Fire Starter to light the candle, and then Adila used the candle flame to ignite three sticks of incense.

Fixing the incense and candle on the ground in an open space, Yang Xiao also brought over the bowl the ghost had used. A lone chopstick lay across it.

He then poured more than half a bowl of water into it.

Seeing this scene, Datou’s face instantly changed. He realized Yang Xiao and the others intended to summon the ghost.

"Let’s begin." Setting down the water ladle, Yang Xiao took the lead in positioning himself, spreading his arms, with Musa and Adila on his left and right, holding his hands.

Seeing this, the others stepped forward one after another, holding hands, forming a circle.

To say they weren’t afraid would be a lie, after all, the ghost would follow their actions, meaning someone holding hands with them could very well be the ghost!

"Close your eyes!" Yang Xiao ordered.

With everyone closing their eyes, an unprecedented strange feeling began to appear. They uncontrollably gasped for air, faces flushed, feeling like they were suffocating, near death, as a bone-chilling coldness gradually emerged around them.

At this moment, everyone felt it; something different appeared in the hand-holding circle.

It’s the eleventh person!

The unseen eleventh person emerged!

At this moment, Yang Xiao’s senses encountered severe asymmetry. Clearly, something seemed to squeeze into the circle supposed to contain ten people.

He could clearly sense there was an extra person; his senses told him so. His ears could hear the other person, his nose could smell the faint corpse stench from them.

But his eyes could not see; his slightly open eyes could not see the other!

Cannot find!

Cannot find anywhere!

Eyes, ears, nose, the information fed back from these three organs was completely out of sync!

The ghost seemed to exist in all directions!

Until——

"Clang clang——"

The crisp sound of chains rang out, in the silent space it was like a thunderclap, too late to give warning, the formation instantly shattered, someone struggled and ran, breaking the encircled circle.

Everyone looked in different directions, their subconsciousness believing it was where the ghost was, and only after calming down did they realize their spatial perception had severe distortions and asymmetry.

There was no ghost...

To be precise, the ghost appeared briefly and then disappeared.

In the circle, the candle was extinguished at some unknown point, leaving three incense sticks burned into two short ones and one long.

The next second, Shari’s scream erupted, "Davi... where is Davi?"

Everyone was shocked, looking towards the sound and quickly scanning around, but the tightly closed, dimly lit room held no trace of Davi.

At that moment, even Yang Xiao felt a chill in his limbs, Davi was gone, taken by the ghost.

"Don’t panic!" Musa stepped forward, used the Fire Starter to relight the candle, then stepped back, arms spread, commanding seriously, "Form the circle again, quickly!!"

Suppressing their fear, everyone soon formed a circle again, now only nine people were left.

Holding hands once more, the extremely distorted dissonant feeling attacked again, and Musa shouted for everyone to keep their eyes tightly shut, absolutely not to let go.

Time passed second by second, this distorted feeling lasted for less than a minute before gradually dissipating. Even with eyes closed, Yang Xiao could sense the room was brighter than before, as if some original darkness shrouding the room had receded.

With no one able to hold on any longer, the circle finally broke, and everyone, almost physically exhausted, fell sitting to the ground.

At that moment, Yang Xiao noticed with his peripheral vision someone beside him was still standing, motionless.

As he raised his head, the scene made him almost cry out; only to see a shriveled corpse standing upright beside him, hands extended, still maintaining the hand-holding posture.

The dark-green ghostly face with bulging eyes was Davi.
