Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Making Mary Jane Cheat her Husband
New York, Plaza Hotel, Daily Bugle Anniversary Party
A red-haired woman named Mary Jane Watson Parker, dressed in a striking red satin dress with a daring slit that ran high up her thigh, revealing her long legs wrapped in sheer black stockings, was dancing closely with her husband, Peter Parker.
The fabric clung to her curves, accentuating every sway of her hips as they moved together on the music.
As they enjoyed their time, lost in the music and each other’s presence, a man suddenly appeared out of thin air among the guests — as if he had been there all along.
He was Mu Chen, his eyes immediately found Mary Jane. A low, amused chuckle escaped his lips as he watched her.
"It would be a sin," he murmured to himself, "not to taste a woman as gorgeous and sexy as her... especially when she’s married."
He had no intention of using his powers to force her submission. He wanted her fully aware of what she was doing — fully conscious that she was betraying her husband, and still choosing to spend the night with him.
Suddenly, a loud explosion erupted outside. The music stopped as the entire gathering turned toward the windows in shock.
A skyscraper in the distance was engulfed in flames, thick smoke rising into the night sky.
Peter Parker’s relaxed expression instantly hardened. His body tensed as he looked out at the chaos, then turned to the red-haired woman with an apologetic gaze.
Mary Jane knew her husband was Spider-Man, a hero who constantly fought dangerous villains, so she already understood what was coming.
"It’s okay, Tiger," she gave a gentle smile and said softly. "I understand."
Peter leaned in and gave her a quick kiss before quietly excusing himself from the party, disappearing into the night like he had done so many times before.
Mary Jane stood there alone, watching him go. She was used to it by now — being left behind without warning whenever duty called.
"I should head home too," Mary Jane said with a soft sigh.
A smooth, low voice suddenly spoke from right beside her.
"Or... we could do something far more interesting than that, wife of Spider-Man."
Mary Jane jolted in surprise. She quickly turned toward the source of the voice and found herself staring at a strikingly handsome young man.
He was devilishly attractive — the kind of looks that could make any woman pause. But what truly startled her was the fact that he knew her husband’s secret identity.
"Who are you? And I think you’ve got the wrong person," Mary Jane said, composing herself as she denied the identity he had addressed her by.
"I’m Mu Chen," he looked at her and replied smoothly. "And as for whether I’ve got it wrong... how about this?"
With a flick of his finger, a projection appeared before her, causing Mary Jane to freeze. It felt as though lightning had struck her, leaving her body stiff.
She quickly looked around and, seeing everyone else acting normally, let out a breath of relief as she realized only the two of them could see it.
"What do you want?" Mary Jane asked, looking back at Mu Chen. Her expression had turned stern now that her facade had completely crumbled.
The projection had revealed fragments of her memories with Peter Parker, his identity as Spider-Man.
In that instant, Mary Jane realized the man standing before her possessed unimaginable power. Before him, every secret she had ever kept was as transparent as an open book.
But it only added to Mu Chen’s charm in her eyes. He was handsome and strong, a combination that was hard for most people to resist.
"You don’t have to be afraid," Mu Chen said with a small smile. "I won’t read your mind."
Mary Jane felt a slight sense of relief, but she remained on guard, waiting for his answer.
Mu Chen leaned in slightly, close enough for her to feel his warm breath brush against her skin, drawing a faint blush to her cheeks.
"As for what I want... it’s simple," he said, his voice dropping lower. "I want to spend the night with you."
Mary Jane stared at him in disbelief. Out of everything she had imagined, this was the last thing she expected.
"How bold of you," she pushed back.. "Do you really think I’d cheat on my husband just because you know who he is?"
"Oh really? Then how about I reveal your husband’s identity to the world? What do you think would happen?" Mu Chen replied casually, making it impossible to tell whether he was joking or completely serious.
"You can’t do that," Mary Jane said immediately.
She knew exactly what would happen if Peter’s identity became public. Every enemy Spider-Man had ever made could come after his aunt, her parents, and their friends in search of revenge. There would no longer be a single moment of peace in their already half-stressful lives.
More importantly, the secret identity he had protected for years would collapse, taking with it everything he had built as the anonymous hero who saved countless lives.
Mu Chen reached out and lightly brushed a strand of her red hair behind her ear, his fingers grazing her skin.
"You can’t be so sure about that, Red," he said softly. "Besides... don’t you need this? How many times has he left you alone in the middle of parties, birthdays, anniversaries, or dates? Always running off to play the hero while you’re left waiting."
Mary Jane wanted to refute his words, but she couldn’t. Everything he had said was true.
She had never been against Peter being a hero, but she wished he could be selfish once in a while and put her before everything else. He had done that to some extent when they were dating and newly married, but over the years she had slowly become his second priority.
Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt Mu Chen’s fingers gently traced along her cheek, making her flinch slightly.
She looked up at him, only to see that same knowing smile on his face.
"This will be the only time," Mary Jane said firmly, meeting his gaze. "After tonight, you’ll promise never to reveal Peter’s identity. And after this... we won’t see each other again."
She wasn’t entirely sure why she had agreed. Was it to protect Peter’s secret? Was it because she had been starved of attention for so long?
Or was she simply finding Mu Chen more and more attractive with each passing moment? Whatever the reason, it no longer mattered. Tonight, she would be spending the night with him, betraying her husband.
"That works for me," Mu Chen said with a smile.
As for not seeing him again? That was never a question. After this encounter, Mary Jane had already become his. It was just that she would realize it over the next few hours and accept it wholeheartedly.
