Lin Moyu’s soul rank was far too low, so low he should never have been qualified to glimpse the greater world rune.
Under normal circumstances, it would have been impossible.
But when that special skill star core transformed into a star, the tiny black dot meant to exist for only half a second lingered for a full ten seconds.
That brief miracle gave Lin Moyu the chance to steal a true glimpse of the greater world rune.
For him, it was an unparalleled stroke of fortune. Even a fragment of insight from such an existence could benefit him for life.
And he did see something.
But the price was the collapse of his soul.
Fortunately, his Comprehensive Rebirth talent activated, allowing his soul to regenerate within purple light.
Yet the process was dozens of times slower than usual, and even after rebirth, his soul failed to return to its peak, feeling incredibly weak.
A lingering fear rose within Ye Lin.
During the rebirth itself, an invisible force seemed to resist him, obstructing his resurrection.
For a moment, he truly thought he might not revive.
Since awakening Comprehensive Rebirth, he had never encountered anything like this.
The greater world rune was far too terrifying, existing on a level utterly beyond his.
Yet beneath the lingering dread was immense relief. He had survived.
And from surviving this calamity, he had discovered something shocking.
The greater world rune was damaged.
Lin Moyu had seen cracks spread across it.
“Who could damage the greater world rune?”
“What kind of power could accomplish such a thing?”
A mere glance had shattered his soul, yet this symbol of the greater world’s highest power had itself been damaged.
The world held far too many secrets.
Before he could unravel the mysteries of his own small world, he had stumbled upon an even greater one.
Lin Moyu didn’t know what Antares had seen, but he likely hadn’t noticed the cracks.
In Antares’s mind, the greater world rune was a supreme and invincible existence.
If Antares learned it had been damaged by someone… his conviction might have come crashing down.
Brilliant multicolored light poured down, turning Lin Moyu’s soul world into a dazzling realm of shifting hues.
Opening his eyes, he saw a multicolored law art star.
Its radiance had transformed everything.
The law art star rose slowly, surpassing all others until it occupied the highest point, looking down upon the rest with lofty arrogance.
It stood above all, bowing only to Lin Moyu.
As the light receded, the soul world gradually returned to normal.
[Infinite Fusion (100% fusion rate): fuses law arts and laws to create new law arts and laws.]
…
It could fuse not only law arts but also laws and create new law arts and laws.
Could something so heaven-defying truly exist?
Creating laws… was that something even humans could do?
Before he could recover from the shock, he sensed a peculiar aura emanating from the Infinite Fusion law art star.
At first, he thought it was law aura.
But it wasn’t. It felt similar, yet different, something indescribable.
Then a thought struck him… law fusion.
His gaze turned toward his two multiple-star law art systems.
His bone-type law arts represented the death aspect of the law of undeath, while his summon-type law arts represented the life aspect.
Only by merging the two could the true law of undeath be formed.
During his law comprehension, he had tried numerous times to merge them, yet always failed. Something was missing.
If he used Infinite Fusion to fuse them together, perhaps…
His eyes flickered with thought, but in the end, he could only sigh.
For now, he could not freely wield the law of undeath, making any test impossible.
“What a strange law art star.”
Antares finally snapped out of his daze. He seemed exhilarated, clearly having gained much from the experience.
Lin Moyu asked, “What did the greater world rune help you to comprehend?”
“What?” Antares blinked, confused.
Lin Moyu continued, “Wasn’t the tiny black dot the greater world rune?”
Antares’s expression changed, “How do you know that? I never told you.”
Lin Moyu replied casually, “Are you the only one allowed to see it? I saw it too.”
Antares recalled how the tiny black dot had lasted for a full ten seconds.
“At your soul rank, I suppose it’s possible you saw it.” Antares admitted, “But seeing it is useless. You shouldn’t have been able to comprehend anything.”
Lin Moyu nodded seriously, “True. The greater world rune is too mysterious, too powerful. It gives rise to countless runes, and each rune is a law unto itself.”
“Looking at it made me feel insignificant. One glance shattered my soul, and even my talent nearly failed to bring me back to life…”
“Wait!” Antares interrupted, “Are you saying you saw the true form of the greater world rune?”
Lin Moyu looked puzzled, “Yeah.”
Antares cried out, “Impossible! How could you possibly see its true form? That shouldn’t be possible!”
“I don’t know.” Lin Moyu wore an innocent expression.
But by now, he was completely certain that Antares had never seen the greater world rune’s true form.
The last few lines had only been a test.
If Antares had truly seen it, he would not be this shocked.
More importantly, he would know the greater world rune was covered in cracks.
Clearly… he did not.
Antares kept muttering to himself, “Impossible. How could you have seen its true form? It defies logic… it violates the rules.”
None of his previous shocks compared to this.
Before, Antares had always found a way to rationalize things. This time, he couldn’t.
The implications of witnessing the true form of the greater world rune were simply too great.
Seeing Antares so shaken, Lin Moyu said, “Maybe I saw it wrong.”
Antares glared at him, “You must have. At your soul rank, the most you could perceive would be a phantom of the greater world rune, along with some law runes derived from it.”
“Yes… that has to be it.”
Antares seemed to be convincing himself.
Lin Moyu sighed inwardly. It was fortunate he hadn’t mentioned the cracks covering the greater world rune.
Had he done so, Antares’s conviction might have truly come crashing down.
Power often bred conviction. The stronger a being became, the more absolute their conviction.
To every unequaled powerhouse, the greater world rune was the ultimate pursuit, the supreme truth.
Paradoxically, they still tried to challenge it, even attempting to control it.
Yet this was not viewed as sacrilege, but as affirmation of their own strength.
No matter what they did, the greater world rune’s status in their hearts remained undiminished.
Antares was no different.
Lin Moyu still remembered his wild excitement when he had scored a lucky “victory” against the greater world rune.
Yet that fluke had changed nothing. To Antares, the greater rune rune remained the ultimate goal.
It was a contradictory mindset... Lin Moyu didn’t share it, nor did he feel the same reverence toward the greater world rune.
Perhaps it was simply because he had not yet reached that level of power.
As for the future, he couldn’t say.
Lin Moyu finally said, “Forget about that. Help me take a look at this.”
