Chapter 1433: Chapter 1355: Apprehension (Part 3)
years ago, there were plenty of mobile numbers that were not registered under real names. Some people would use up the credit on a card and then discard it. For certain groups, buying multiple SIM cards at once was quite reasonable.
Jiang Yuan carefully reviewed the evidence that Shen Yaowei had found and asked, "Can we find the person who registered this? Sang Gengwei? Is that a real name?"
"It’s his real name. We’ve found him, and he matches the physical description, and his age aligns too. He’s from the Northeast and currently living in Dongping City, hasn’t gone abroad," Shen Yaowei said, his face slightly flushed as he added, "Back then, Liyuan City was implementing a hundred-day operation, and hotel management was quite strict. I estimate Sang Gengwei hadn’t committed the crime at that time."
"Let’s arrest him," Xu Taining said as he approached. After just a glance, he made the decision and went back to continue communicating with the team.
Unless the case is declared solved, his net never stops, no matter how reliable this suspect seems. Without hard evidence laid out, Xu Taining trusts none.
Once again, Wu Junhao led the charge.
Song Tiancheng assisted in contacting the local police.
Under Xu Taining’s strong request, Wu Junhao took two fully equipped Bald Strike Teams, totaling 72 people, armed with bulletproof vests, anti-stab suits, shotguns, submachine guns, and standard pistols. Upon seeing this, Dongping City’s police department provided half a squadron of officers, along with vehicles, shields, police batons, wolf teeth spikes, police steel forks, first aid kits, tear gas, and hand and foot chains. Both sides conducted a quick yet effective pre-battle mobilization, with the young officers eager for merit.
The suspect Sang Gengwei is currently 45 years old, residing in a 140-square-meter condo in the bustling area of Dongping, standing 180 cm tall and weighing 210 pounds, keeping a corgi. He was lying on the sofa, with a thick beer mug next to him, which could be considered a dangerous weapon.
Wu Junhao meticulously crafted a complete plan and formally submitted the operation proposal to the task force.
Jiang Yuan, Liu Jinghui, and Xu Taining reviewed it separately, then signed their approval.
Five minutes later, the phone on the task force’s desk rang again.
"We’ve caught him," Wu Junhao’s voice was filled with excitement, "Request permission for immediate interrogation!"
"Approved!" Jiang Yuan said.
On the other side, Meng Chengbiao immediately pulled the suspect aside and began the interrogation according to the planned steps.
Two hours later, two more names were revealed.
Just as Liu Jinghui and the others had suspected, the three individuals knew each other, contacted each other for various crimes, freely combining their efforts, and the Li Huimin case was indeed a collaborative crime with Sang Gengwei and another person.
At this point, Xu Taining hesitated no longer, paused the other groups’ investigations, and sent out scouts based on the information divulged by Sang Gengwei to arrest more suspects.
Huang Qiangmin, too, reappeared in the conference room, breathing heavily, like a survivor from a disaster.
"Does this mean the case is solved?" Huang Qiangmin asked Jiang Yuan for confirmation.
"Sang Gengwei’s tracks match the murderer’s characteristics; we can confirm it’s the same person," Jiang Yuan replied.
"Great, now the next step is to catch the other two people," Huang Qiangmin visibly brightened.
Until Jiang Yuan spoke again: "You can inform Captain Wei."
"Alright." Huang Qiangmin sighed softly, paused, and said, "When Wei got married, we all went for drinks. I even went to Wei’s house for meals, even though his wife doesn’t usually like cooking. But when we visited, she still whipped up a good spread."
The detectives in the meeting room fell silent.
After a while, Huang Qiangmin said, "Notify Wei, and Wei Yin too."
