Chapter 412 (2): “You’re not pure!” - Hestia

“I knew it. Our father was our mother’s first love, after all. It was only a matter of time for them to rekindle their relationship...” Juno sighed, her smile wry. “In that case, Mother will be doing everything in her power to have a child with Auston, producing the future heir to the throne. Are you really fine with that?”

“But I can’t do that,” Wayne said reluctantly. “She’s Auston’s lover.”

“Stop playing dumb. You know what I’m getting at!”

“Let’s not go down that rabbit hole. We should be talking about reincarnated angels and demons.”

“Are you really not going to accept me?” Juno pressed.

“I’m really not!” Wayne said solemnly. “You’re a good woman. The issue lies with me. I have many girlfriends, lovers, and fiancées. I’m not good enough for you.”

I wouldn’t want you if you didn’t have many girlfriends, lovers, and fiancées!

Juno sighed. Mona coughed pointedly then.

“Oh, I also have many secretaries,” Wayne said. “See? I’m really not good enough for you.”

Juno stared at Wayne for a moment. Confirming that he truly didn’t plan to form a union with her, she reaffirmed her resolution. “I once dreamed of becoming the sovereign—becoming a queen who holds actual power like Mother... Unfortunately, the Lando family is too powerful. I cannot overcome that obstacle, and you kept turning my offer of an alliance down.”

“That was your dream, you mean?”

“Yes, my dream now is to go to Heaven and become a real angel.”

Juno talked about her time away from her home country. She didn’t know where she belonged, nor did she know where she should go. She couldn’t return to Windsor since she would just lose herself. Feeling lost, she was only able to stay strong by rubbing bits with Alistair.

In her many times of post-coital clarity, Juno pondered her future until one day, she came to a realization.

She still had magic!

If she couldn’t become queen, she would try to become an angel!

As soon as she made her first step toward her goal, she ran into Serceris. She tried and failed to get the angel’s number, getting taught a lesson instead.

During the process, Serceris noticed that Juno’s heavenly bloodline had already awakened, so she introduced herself as a reincarnated angel and invited Juno to join her in fighting demons.

Juno saw the encounter right after she made up her mind as a sign. Besides, Serceris was hot. Juno said yes without hesitation.

With the support of an angel, even a pig could fly. Besides, Juno had the bloodline to back her ambition up.

Learning that Juno’s divine blood came from Saint George, the four reincarnated angels all saw her in a different light. Pedro, their leader, had especially high expectations for her and took great care of her.

“Tell me about the four angels. I may know them.”

“I don’t know their real names in Heaven, only their human names. Aside from Pedro and Serceris, the other two angels are difficult to approach. I haven’t gotten close to them enough to know their names. The female one...”

As soon as Wayne asked, Juno forgot about Serceris’s emphasis on secrecy and told him everything. “She’s beautiful and has an incredible figure. She’s about this big, her legs this long. She also has a small waist.”

Juno demonstrated the curves with her hands. The cup size, waist to hip ratio, and leg length told Wayne that it was Hestia. Yes, only Lust incarnate had that kind of bust, legs, and hips.

According to Juno’s description, the other angel would be Derrida, another old friend of Wayne’s.

“There are seven reincarnated angels in total. I’m in Londan, and among the six angels from the Papal State, four came, leaving two... Kael and Archibald haven’t awakened, it seems.”

Wayne glanced at Mona—or more precisely, Hesione. The Śār was very much concerned about her fellow reincarnated angels. By agreeing to initiate intimacy tonight as Mona, she got the chance to join this conversation.

Wayne put an arm around her slim waist and pulled her close, pecking her on the face. Hesione didn’t even flinch, her expression unchanged.

“Mona, you should be kissing me back.”

“...”

Hesione pecked him.

Juno didn’t know that she had been used as a backdrop for the couple’s flirting; she just found their public display of affection aggravating and wished she could take Wayne’s place.

She wanted a secretary who could be mature and innocent in the same breath, like Mona. One second, she was gentle and loving, and the next, she became haughty and aloof. Her frosty side, especially, made Juno yearn to be scolded by her.

“Hey, you’re drooling,” Wayne said.

Juno hissed in envy.

Pleased, Wayne continued, “Tell me more about the four reincarnated angels. You said Pedro is the leader?”

“Yes, the other three angels all defer to him,” Juno said with a nod. “He must hold a high status in Heaven, at least higher than the other three.”

Getting kissed on the cheek, Wayne smiled and kissed back. “What does Pedro’s stigma look like? Have you seen it?”

“No. I’ve only seen Serceris’s. To prove her identity, she’s shown it to me.” Juno pressed a hand to her lower abdomen, wiggling her eyebrows. “I remember it clearly, and I know what I’ve seen. I got a glimpse of her carpet, if you know what I mean.”

(・˘_˘・) (눈‸눈)

Wayne and Hesione stared at her. Wayne had had a similar experience, so he knew what Juno was talking about. He had to ask, “That’s a lewd part for a stigma to be. Is she really an angel? She’s not a succubus in disguise, is she?”

No, not even succubi do that.

His two succubus secretaries didn’t have marks like that. Had he missed it? He should check one day.

Speaking of which, the three angels reincarnating into women all had their stigma in quite suggestive places. Mona’s was on her tongue, Hestia’s, her chest, and Serceris’s, her lower abdomen. Was there a reason? Did that represent the new trinity?

Heavenly Father, your son-in-law finally saw your grand plan!

After some consideration, he concluded that the placement of stigmata was most likely random, or it would be difficult to explain Kael’s stigma, placed on his private part.

Wayne didn’t even want to think about the egregious sight. Because of Kael’s ridiculous stigma, Heaven seemed like a pioneer in lewdness and depravity.

Smack!

Another kiss landed on his face. ‘Mona’ batted her eyes, urging him to fish for more information.

He didn’t react until she kissed him on the lips. “Juno, tell me more about Serceris’s stigma. What is it like? Any details that stand out? I may recognize it.”

“I don’t know,” Juno said. “I was too fascinated by the carpet.”

She rolled her eyes at him for good measure. Someone who shared her habit, like Wayne, should know the answer already. Why would he even ask?

Wayne had no words. Knowing that she was telling the truth, he said with a sigh, “Fine, I’ll check it myself when I get the chance.”

Juno rolled her eyes, giving her fellow pervert the middle finger.

They talked a little more. After more than ten minutes, Wayne had gained some information on the four reincarnated angels, but not much.

Juno knew little about Pedro, whom Hesione was most interested in, and she knew nothing about Derrida, practically ignoring him like air.

“Are you really not going to meet the reincarnated angels, Wayne?”

“Really. The demons are known to have multiple schemes. I’ll stay in the dark in case something leads to a total party kill.” Wayne raised an eyebrow at her. “Do not tell them about meeting me tonight, not to anyone.”

“Um...”

“Can’t you do that?”

“It’ll be bad for my career!”

“Don’t worry,” Wayne promised. “I’m someone important back in Heaven. With me supporting you, you’ll get what you deserve as long as you work well for me.”

“Have you recovered your memories in Heaven?” Juno asked in surprise.

“Don’t ask about what you shouldn’t know, and remember to keep my presence a secret. Do you understand?”

“Oh.” Juno nodded, befuddled by her own reactions. Serceris had told her to keep a secret, too, but Juno had told Wayne everything she should and shouldn’t say about the reincarnated angels. When Wayne was the one telling her to keep a secret, though, she didn’t feel like telling the other reincarnated angels even what she should say.

Could it be... that she had fallen for Wayne at some point, as Alistair said, which was why she did whatever he said and had a blind trust in him? That couldn’t be. Her heart had never raced for him!

She turned to Wayne curiously, her heart racing when she saw the secretary he was holding in his arms.

That was it. She had feelings for Wayne’s harem and couldn’t give up on joining the family, which was why she kept sucking up to him.

Suddenly, footsteps broke the silence in the opera house. A white-robed figure slowly approached. With his back to the newcomer, Wayne frowned slightly. Hesione tried to get to her feet, but was kept down by his arm and Mona’s intervention, losing control over her body.

Moreover, Mona had moved her arms around Wayne’s neck, making Hesione’s lips press against Wayne’s. The Śār was so mortified and furious that she wanted nothing more than to kill the degenerate couple and then herself.

The reason was none other than the newcomer, Hestia, Hesione’s subordinate and fan in Heaven.

She heard Mona speak to her, “It’s too late to resist now. If I were you, I would do my best to pretend to be Mona so that the angel wouldn’t know who I am.”

Hesione snarled, demanding to swap places with Mona. Mona rejected her. Left with no choice, Hesione could only pretend to be a regular clergywoman as Mona had said.

“Miss-Miss Hestia?!” Juno was sitting across from Wayne, so she was the first to see the newcomer. Getting to her feet nervously, she explained, “Please hear me out. I came here tonight to look into the Black Axiom Sect. I’m not going to reveal your whereabouts.”

Juno regretted everything. Caught like this, a flying pig would fall to its death.

“Shut up, traitor!” Hestia huffed, her eyes glowing golden. She didn’t like Juno. The woman was shortsighted, ambitious, and driven by selfish needs with no principles. She couldn’t be trusted.

Unfortunately, Pedro valued her for her precious bloodline, so Hestia could only put her grievances aside.

“Oh, isn’t it Lust incarnate?” Wayne said in between deep kisses with Hesione, arms still wrapped around her. “Who’s got your panties in a twist?”

His words only fueled Hestia’s fury. She mustered the courage to say, “Because of you, I’m beyond furious!”

“How so?”

“The woman in your arms made you impure!”

Hestia’s eyes radiated golden light as she scanned Mona. She was covered from head to toe in Wayne’s energy, which grated on Hestia’s nerves. She wished to kill Mona with her spear to erase the taint from the Śār, returning him to his pure self.

The wet sounds of deep kisses continued.

“You shameless woman, you should’ve stopped already!” Trembling with anger, Hestia splayed her fingers to summon her Sacred Lance of Heaven, pointing it at the woman in Wayne’s arms. “Stand up. He’s too great an existence for you to touch.”

Hesione couldn’t be more mortified. The moment Mona let go of her, she jumped to her feet and took two steps away from Wayne, quickly wiping her mouth. When Hestia looked at her with justified derision, she averted her gaze, unable to meet her old subordinate's eyes.

She would like to fall into Hell now so that she never had to see another familiar face.

Wayne and Mona had torn off her thin veneer of dignity and pushed her to leap down the path of corruption. Her cowering made Wayne take pity on her.

You’re spoiling her! Mona argued.

I wouldn’t even care about her if not for you, Wayne responded.

Placating Mona telepathically with sweet words, he turned to Hestia with a scowl and said, “Put your lance away. Don’t you know your manners? You acted like I’m not here.”

“I’ve overstepped.”

Hestia put her lance away reluctantly, standing before him with lowered head. It was obvious from her clenched fists that she didn’t mean her apology.

Juno swallowed silently. Hestia’s meekness proved that Wayne was indeed someone important in Heaven.

“Let me introduce you. This is my secretary, Mona. She’s a clergywoman that the Pope assigned me.”

“Damn the Pope!” Hestia bit out.

Damn Pope! Hesione cursed out in her head.

“Why are you suddenly so cranky?” Wayne asked, amused. “You didn’t react like this the last time, when I was with my secretaries.”

“It’s different. Those two secretaries are pure...” Hestia glared at Hesione, enunciating every syllable, “You are not pure!!”

Crack!

Hesione pressed a hand to her chest. Wayne was just standing there and watching her burn under the assault of the cold, hard truth. She did not like the way it hurt[1]. Her heart was breaking into pieces.

1. The original is literally, “Cold, icy rain hit her on the face, and the fierce blades of truth brutalize her.” It’s a play on two lines from Andy Lau’s song, Ice Rain. I tried to replicate the effect with a well-known song in English.
