Chapter 401 (1): Neither Heaven Nor Earth Responds
Wayne’s residence.
The night saw thin mist and a smattering of stars. A man sneaked into the backyard and carefully moved toward the main house.
It was Wayne.
Before coming here, he had phoned Butler Veryl and told him to play ignorant if a trespasser infiltrated the residence tonight.
He was that trespasser.
After taking care of High Reverend Filomina and Secretary Mona, Wayne was looking at a streamlined schedule. Kristen and Vera, who lived in his residence, were next in line, while Veronica in the Lando Estate came last. Once he finished his work with Veronica, it would be time to meet the old man and brief him on the progress Wayne had made.
He couldn’t be busier!
In the living room, Wayne twisted the doorknob and found it locked from the inside. He unlocked it with a simple wave, and...
He heard noises from the master bedroom. He turned on the light and fell silent when he saw the three heads popping out of the blanket.
Veronica, Vera, and Kristen were all in the house. It was a party.
Why is Vera in the middle? Kristen should be the most popular one, and she’s most likely to be the filling of the sandwich.
“Wayne, here you are.”
“Bastard, finally!”
“Waaayne~”
“Apologies, I’ve got the wrong door. This isn’t my place.”
Wayne stepped out of the room with an expressionless face. He must have done something wrong when he opened the door, he thought, so he closed the door and opened it again. However, the three girls remained huddled together on the bed.
Fine, fine. You started an orgy without me?
He darkly shut the door behind him, creating a soundproof barrier. Seeing him taking off his belt for a punishment session, the three girls scrambled up. Kristen jumped off the bed, and Veronica and Vera knocked into each other. Veronica rubbed her head, suffering no damage, while Vera collapsed, her eyes rolling into her skull.
Under the blanket, they were all dressed neatly in pajamas. What Wayne imagined wasn’t reality.
“Wayne, let me explain. That’s not it...”
Blushing, Kristen stammered and tried to defend herself, starting and stopping herself several times. She panicked like she had been caught cheating. She didn’t know where to start.
What was happening in this bed was far more complex than being caught cheating on her husband, since she was cheating on him with his lovers. Wayne imagined a wolf chasing after the lambs that were grazing on the green grass on his head.
“No rush. Take your time explaining. The night is still young.”
He huffed, demanding an honest answer from Kristen. During the past two months, what shenanigans had the trio been up to?
Nothing. The girls had merely been sharing a bed. If any of them had crossed a line, it would be Veronica, the little pervert.
Ever since Wayne put Veronica and Kristen on the same bed two months ago, and Veronica had her first time with her white moonlight, she had been unable to stop thinking about Kristen. With the excuse of taking care of her fiancé’s residence, she had been staying at Wayne’s place regularly.
It was reasonable for her to sleep in the master bedroom when she was housesitting for her fiancé, wasn’t it?
It was.
It was reasonable for her to take care of her fiancé’s girlfriend when he wasn’t around, in case a pervert attacked her white moonlight, wasn’t it?
It was.
Who was the pervert, you ask? Vera, of course! Senior Kristen was so appealing, and Wayne wasn’t home. Vera would certainly turn her grabby hands to Senior.
Bah, you monster!
Therefore, Veronica moved into the master bedroom and slept on the bed while holding her white moonlight’s arm, savoring the fragrance in Kristen’s hair. She slept so...
She didn’t sleep well at all. Her white moonlight was right beside her. How could a hot-blooded girl at her age fall asleep under the circumstances?
Kristen panicked, worried that Veronica would succumb to her draconic urge and do this and that to her, neither heaven nor earth responding to her cry for help, so she called Vera, making Vera sleep in the middle. Then she would be safe.
(゚Д゚≡゚Д゚)
Fine, Vera thought. The family would fall apart sooner or later without me.
Ultimately, Wayne was the one to blame. Veronica had started out admiring her white moonlight with only a fleeting fantasy of snuggling with her. She didn’t even dare to fantasize about it in waking hours. Never had she considered making the dream a reality.
But after she had a taste, she could no longer suppress her desire.
“Tsk, tsk. Such a messy situation.”
Wayne stood by the bed, looking at an unconscious Vera, a Kristen who was trying to disappear into her hands, and a Veronica who had covered her head with a pillow. They felt ashamed to be caught cheating on their fiancé.
That sounded wrong, but it was close enough to the truth.
“I came to see you as soon as I returned home, but this is how you welcomed me...” Wayne sighed, holding his hand to his chest. “You’ve disappointed me. I’m going to take a bath and wash away the dust I’ve gotten on me during the trip and the exhaustion from my hard work. Stay here and reflect on your mistakes.”
“Oh.” x2
Since Wayne didn’t specify who he was talking about, both Kristen and Veronica thought that he was talking about themselves.
Not Vera, though. The headbutt from the dragon left her dazed. She alternated between sitting up giggling like an idiot and lying down groaning.
The sound of water falling to the floor came from the bathroom, accompanied by a heart-wrenching song about being cheated on by scummy women.
Kristen knew Wayne was acting, but she still couldn’t help but blame herself. She looked back and saw Vera still doing sit-ups and Veronica groaning into a pillow. The two unreliable girls couldn’t be depended on when they were needed.
Clenching her teeth, Kristen rose to her feet and walked toward the bathroom. Popping her head in, she saw Wayne lying in the bathtub. After locking the door behind her, she took off her pajamas and joined him.
“You misunderstood, Wayne.”
“I get it. It’s all Veronica’s fault. The little pervert has been pining after you. Is that your explanation?”
“That’s not it. Veronica’s a good girl...”
“So I’ve been throwing a tantrum for nothing?”
“...”
Kristen felt a mix of annoyance and amusement. Letting Wayne pull her into his arms, she leaned in and whispered into his ear, “I’ve missed you.”
“Me too. I came to find you as soon as I arrived.”
Really? I don’t believe you!
“Yeah, you’re the best.”
Kristen accepted the lie rather than arguing. She asked about Wayne’s experience, her eyes turning red when she learned of all the hard work and the close calls.
“It’s okay. I came back okay, didn’t I?” Wayne took her hands and interlocked their fingers, pressing their foreheads together. “I’ll tell you some good news. I’ve reached Legendary...”
He went into more detail about his experience, cutting off the private affairs happening behind closed doors and leaving only the public events. Whatever made him look good, he emphasized, and he exaggerated the danger, describing the world outside Londan as Hell on earth.
Demons and warlords were everywhere. He alone was a righteous man.
Kristen laughed, meeting his eyes. Both of their breathing quickened.

Who’s singing?
Veronica looked up at the closed door to the bathroom, hearing her white moonlight’s lilting tune and her fiancé’s percussion accompaniment. She clenched her teeth so hard that she nearly crushed them.
Her white moonlight was being humiliated, and her fiancé was cheating on her. The double whammy was deeply hurtful.
“Huh? Where’s Senior?” Vera sat up, cocking her head in deep thought. “I remember hitting a steel plate. Why would there be a steel plate in the bedroom? Wait, who’s in the bathroom? I’ll go check. Senior must have tripped and fallen in the bathtub.”
Bam!
Veronica pulled her knife hand back, while Vera held onto her swelling forehead.
“Don’t be ridiculous. Why would Senior trip...”
Veronica huffed, glancing at the bathroom with increasing anger. After a two-month work trip, her fiancé had returned home to mess around with her white moonlight rather than finding her at the Lando Estate. How could he? She should go and catch her fiancé red-handed!
Veronica marched toward the bathroom and was about to kick the door open when she heard a moan. Her legs wobbled, and her face turned red. She didn’t dare to disturb them.
It did sound like Kristen had tripped. What should she do? Should she go inside and save her? What if she had misunderstood?
With quickly changing expressions, Veronica pressed her ear to the door, trying to figure out if Kristen had tripped.
Suddenly, the door opened, and an arm reached out to grab her by the waist. She got pulled in with a shocked gasp.
Bam!
The bathroom door closed.
Vera sat up, breathing out a sigh. “Dear me, they’re all so careless. It’s not a big deal that Senior has fallen in the bathtub since she’s always had a balance issue, but Veronica doesn’t have that problem. Let me guess. She must have lost her balance when she was helping Senior up...”
Yes, that’s what happened.
“I have no choice but to save them. I’ve worked so hard for this family.”
Vera wobbled toward the bathroom. The door once again opened to swallow her without any delay. She gave herself away so easily.

Kristen, what the hell? Is this my harem, or yours?!

Lando Estate.
Wayne had such a tight schedule that when he returned home with Veronica, it was already May third. He looked spirited, if a little tired.
Silvia had skipped work to return home when she received the call. In the study, she hugged her son and asked after him after two months of not seeing him.
“Hmph!”
Veronica scoffed with her arms crossed. Yeah, yeah. She was adopted, and Wayne Lando was the real son.
“Hey, you. What are you waiting for? Go make some tea. Do you need me to tell you everything?”
“...”
Veronica stalked out of the study with a scowl, off to make tea.
“That’s more like it.”
After driving away her defiant daughter-in-law, Silvia talked to her son behind Veronica’s back like a vicious mother-in-law. “You don’t know how the girl looked down at me while you were away. Her arrogant face was infuriating. I still get angry when I think about it.”
Yeah, as long as you’re happy! Wayne thought with resignation.
Silvia sat Wayne down. The District High Reverend was going to give her superior a massage in case he made life difficult for her because she didn’t show enough hospitality. Hearing the sarcasm in her tone, Wayne couldn’t possibly behave like an Oracle High Reverend. He turned around and sat Silvia down instead, massaging her shoulders.
“Master, how’s this Oracle High Reverend doing as a masseuse? Is this too hard or too weak?”
“It’s just right.” Silvia covered her mouth and chuckled. “Better than that fiancée of yours. She went so hard, it was as if she were trying to kill me.”
“Worry not.” Wayne snickered. “I’ll teach her a lesson.”
“Good. As expected of the Oracle High Reverend. You’re both an eloquent speaker and a skillful masseur.”
Master, do you suspect tampering because your student has become an Oracle High Reverend, and you haven’t? Is that why you’re pissed?
Wayne huffed inwardly. If that was what Silvia thought, well, she was right. This was a result of tampering. It involved sexual favors.
