Chapter 500: Luguo Forge (2)

He examined every detail, every finish, every curve. There was genuine curiosity in his eyes, a desire to understand how those weapons had been created.

’Good...’ Sun Luguo thought with satisfaction.

’He truly knows how to appreciate blacksmithing. He isn’t just looking for a weapon to use; he’s studying, learning, and understanding.’

That was important. Very important. A blacksmith who could not appreciate the work of other masters would never become a great craftsman. The humility to learn from others was essential.

That was when an idea came to his mind.

"Kid."

Kyrian turned around, his eyes meeting his master’s.

Sun Luguo crossed his arms, his expression now more serious.

"What kind of weapon do you usually use?" he asked.

"I noticed you fought without any weapon today. And in the previous battles you mentioned, you also seemed to rely mainly on your physique."

He slowly walked toward a sword on display, carefully picking it up.

"But a good weapon can completely change the outcome of a battle." His voice was instructive, as though he were teaching a lesson.

"It acts as an amplifier. The better the weapon, the greater the power it can unleash. A skilled cultivator with a mediocre weapon is limited. An average cultivator with an excellent weapon can surpass opponents far stronger than themselves."

He pointed toward another display case, where a blade gleamed with a bluish hue.

"An Earth-grade Weapon requires far more Qi to wield. But its capabilities are also several times greater than those of a Spiritual Weapon. The investment in energy is greater, but so is the return."

He looked back at Kyrian.

"If you learn to wield it properly, your techniques and attacks will reach an entirely different level. A well-chosen weapon can mean the difference between life and death in battle."

Kyrian nodded silently. He already knew that. His previous sword, which he had used for some time, had only been a low-grade Spiritual Weapon. Functional, but limited.

As for the spear he had obtained after defeating that Spiritual Awakening Realm expert...

It was an Earth-grade Weapon.

Powerful, yes, but also conspicuous. Using it during the competition would have attracted far too much attention. Besides, it probably would not have been allowed.

Sun Luguo smiled, his eyes gleaming with generosity.

"Choose one."

Kyrian blinked in surprise.

"You may choose any peak Spiritual Weapon in this shop," Sun Luguo said, his voice filled with generosity.

"Consider it a gift from your master. Another tool to begin your journey."

Kyrian remained silent for a few moments, processing the offer. A peak Spiritual Weapon was no ordinary gift. Its value was considerable, and the quality of the weapons here was clearly superior to anything he had ever owned.

He then gave a slight bow.

"Thank you."

He began walking slowly among the weapon racks. His gaze carefully swept across each weapon, evaluating its characteristics.

’A perfect weapon...’ he thought calmly, his eyes settling on a long sword.

’It would need to function well regardless of the type of Qi. Something versatile. Adaptable.’

But he soon shook his head.

’A weapon like that probably doesn’t even exist. Every weapon is specialized, designed for a specific purpose. There isn’t one that excels at everything.’

If he wanted a weapon capable of accompanying any path, perhaps he would have to create it himself. Just as he had created the Third Mirrored Eye, fusing different techniques and knowledge to create something entirely new.

’Perhaps... I’ll have to forge it myself in the future.’

The thought quietly remained in his mind, taking root. A distant goal, something to pursue after he had mastered the fundamentals of blacksmithing.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

’Once I’ve properly learned blacksmithing... I’ll ask Master Sun.’

For now... he only needed to choose a weapon that suited his current fighting style.

At present, he fought almost exclusively using the Path of Lightning. His goal was to gain a profound understanding of that path until, one day, he awakened his Lightning Aura. Just as he was already able to use the Fire Aura and the Ice Aura, both of which he had mastered during his previous battles.

A weapon compatible with lightning would be enough. Something that conducted electricity well and would not be damaged by the constant flow of energy.

While Kyrian continued searching carefully among the dozens of weapon racks... Sun Luguo walked through a heavy iron door at the back of the shop.

The door creaked open, revealing a dark passageway. Sun Luguo disappeared for a few moments, leaving Kyrian alone with the weapons.

Kyrian continued his search, his violet eyes examining every piece. A spear here, a sword there, an axe farther ahead. Each possessed its own qualities and unique characteristics.

He needed to find the ideal weapon.

Kyrian walked slowly between the long rows of spiritual wood racks.

His gaze moved from one weapon to another with meticulous attention.

Swords, sabers, spears, halberds, hammers, axes, whips, and daggers rested neatly arranged, each emitting a different pressure.

He did not immediately touch them. First, he observed them. He sensed the Qi they emitted, evaluated their balance, the quality of their materials, and the way their spiritual inscriptions had been engraved.

Most of the weapons possessed common affinities, fire, wind, water, earth, or metal.

Weapons aligned with the Path of Lightning, however, were exceedingly rare.

Lightning itself was an attribute that was difficult to comprehend. Cultivators capable of wielding it were few, and blacksmiths capable of forging compatible equipment were even rarer.

After searching through nearly the entire shop...

Kyrian finally found the small section reserved for them.

There were only four.

The only four peak Spiritual Weapons aligned with the Path of Lightning displayed in the entire shop.

His eyes slowly swept across each one.

The first was a long sword with a violet blade. Thin streaks of lightning constantly ran across its metallic surface, producing tiny crackling sounds.

The second was a spear with a black shaft, covered in delicate silver inscriptions that resembled bolts of lightning tearing through the sky.

The third was a slightly curved saber. Its blade seemed to condense electricity every moment, causing the surrounding air to vibrate faintly.

The fourth was a straight sword with a simple appearance.

It bore no extravagant decorations.

Yet among all of them, it emitted the most stable and profound pressure, as though an entire bolt of lightning slumbered within that blade.

Kyrian silently observed the four weapons for several moments.

Then he reached out.

He carefully removed each weapon from its stand, one after another, without any haste.

Afterward... he walked over to the large wooden table in the center of the shop.

The first weapon was placed upon the table.

Then the second.

The third.

And finally, the fourth.

The four peak Spiritual Weapons of the Path of Lightning rested side by side. Kyrian crossed his arms as he studied them carefully.

He had to choose one of the four.
