Chapter 1220: Spears of Primordial Thunder

Ethan saw it too.

His brow snapped tight. There was no time left to weigh options—if Baelzareth’s strike landed, Catheryn would be swallowed whole, and Emerald Castle’s army nearby would get caught in the blast as well.

Ethan flashed forward.

Power erupted out of him. Transparent lightning wrapped in snow-white radiance burst along his arms and spine, ripping outward in snarling arcs. That tyrannical aura cut across the sky and—before the giant projection could fully slam down—forced itself around Baelzareth like a tightening net.

Baelzareth’s eyes widened.

He looked down at Ethan, staring with a strange, hard focus. There’d been nothing but contempt in that gaze at first. But when the destructive aura in Ethan’s transparent lightning brushed close to his body, that contempt drained away, replaced by something heavier.

"You’re just an outsider, kid," Baelzareth said coldly. "This is an internal matter. Don’t interfere, or I’ll tear you into pieces."

Ethan didn’t answer.

He didn’t care.

His power kept spreading, rolling through heaven and earth with a pressure that made the air shudder. Transparent lightning burst from his palms, shoulders, and back at the same time, ripping through the sky like countless white serpents. The destruction packed inside those arcs made Baelzareth’s expression flicker.

Fear.

Before Baelzareth could fully react, Ethan was already right in front of him.

Transparent lightning compressed rapidly in Ethan’s hand—first into a blinding line of light, then stretching, hardening, locking into shape until it became a lightning spear. The moment it formed, the surrounding air split with fine crackling tears. The spear’s edge was so bright it hurt to look at.

Ethan lifted his arm and drove the lightning spear straight in.

Baelzareth didn’t dare hesitate. He surged his energy up and condensed a thick barrier in front of himself. The shield had barely stabilized when the spear smashed into it. A ring of white electric glare exploded outward, followed by a deep, heavy boom that rolled across the entire canyon.

The barrier stopped the spear’s first impact.

But it didn’t stop it completely.

The spear was too domineering. Its tip drilled forward without mercy. Transparent arcs crawled wildly over the barrier’s surface, carving hair-thin fractures through the thick energy layers. Baelzareth clenched his jaw and poured more power in, trying to reinforce it—

The cracks still spread faster.

Crack!

A fissure opened through the barrier.

A flood of lightning surged through that break and slammed into Baelzareth’s shoulder. In the same instant, his protective energy tore open, flesh searing black where the electric light landed, his entire arm snapping backward from the force.

"Ah—!"

A shriek ripped through the air.

Baelzareth retreated hard, each step stamping ripples into the empty sky. In this world, he was as close to supreme as it got... yet the one thing he feared most was Infernal Primordial Power. For years he’d hunted that mythical force and never found it.

And now—

It was on Ethan.

While Baelzareth’s mind wavered, Ethan was already there again.

And in his hand was a second lightning spear—just as vicious as the first.

Baelzareth’s breathing broke.

He truly hadn’t expected Ethan’s output to be this terrifying. The Infernal Primordial Power mixed into that transparent lightning wasn’t something ordinary energy could resist.

At this point, Baelzareth couldn’t afford even a sliver of carelessness.

He yanked out several gemstones. The moment they appeared, the energy around them shifted. Different colors lit up in sharp flashes—each gem radiating a powerful aura, each one carrying a distinct elemental force.

When the gemstones hovered together, their powers began to fuse.

Searing heat like flame. Heavy earth-and-stone pressure. Razor wind. Cold water-glow. Other elemental threads braided in as well, forming a crushing, composite pressure around Baelzareth. It expanded outward and forced part of Ethan’s transparent lightning back.

Ethan felt it and frowned.

He’d never seen energy like that before.

But he didn’t slow down.

In front of his tyrannical transparent lightning, anything that tried to stand in the way only existed to be shattered. Ethan raised his hand, and another spear formed. Then another. Then another—each one compressed from transparent lightning, each one carrying that annihilating Infernal Primordial Power along its core.

He hurled them in succession.

The first spear stabbed for Baelzareth’s chest. It was stalled for a heartbeat by the fused elemental defense—then punched through the outer layer anyway. The second spear followed, tearing open the barrier from a different angle. Third. Fourth. Fifth—

Every impact burst a sheet of electric glare across Baelzareth’s body.

Before long, Baelzareth was riddled with wounds.

Lightning ripped his flesh open. His defenses were pinned into ragged pieces. The elemental gemstones still poured out power, but they could no longer seal every gap in Ethan’s attack lines. Spear after spear hammered down, driving Baelzareth backward again and again.

Ethan didn’t stop.

His eyes narrowed as he kept feeding power into the sky. More transparent lightning dropped like a web, crossing into locks and angles. Baelzareth tried to shift sideways and a spear slammed down ahead of him, pinning off the route. He tried to rise—lightning crushed down from above.

In the end, Ethan forced him back against a nearby mountain ridge.

Several lightning spears punched through the energy around Baelzareth and pressed him into the cliff face. The mountain shook, cracks racing through the rock as stone slid down in a grinding shower.

Pinned there, chest heaving, Baelzareth couldn’t hide the panic in his eyes anymore.

"Who the hell are you?" he demanded, voice shaking for the first time. "How can you release Infernal Primordial Power like this?"

Ethan still didn’t answer.

He only fused his forces tighter.

Transparent lightning, snow-white electric light, and the abyssal energy he’d been drawing all surged into his palm. They compressed, spun, and condensed into a massive sphere of power—dense enough that the air around it bent.

Then Ethan raised his arm and slammed the sphere forward.

Baelzareth’s body trembled violently.

Seeing the sphere crushing toward him, he clenched both hands and detonated everything he had. The lightning locks pinning him were hit from the inside—first shaking violently, then cracking as fractures spread from their edges.

Boom!

One of the seals shattered completely.

Baelzareth tore free and hovered again. When he lifted his hand, a blood-red gemstone had appeared in his palm. The moment it surfaced, the surrounding space was stained with a dark crimson glow, and visible distortions rippled through the air.

The energy coming off that gemstone was unmistakable—

A terrifying, high-level spatial aura.
