Chapter 1215: The Violet Sister Arrives
Queen Seraphine didn’t give an inch.
Her power flooded outward as well. Divine Power shot into the sky, gathering high above into a massive sphere of sacred energy. Holy light compressed again and again. Once the ball fully formed, the surrounding darkness was forced back, and even the corrosive stench in the air was squeezed hard enough to pop with fine, rapid bursts.
Seraphine lifted her hand and slammed the sacred sphere downward.
The middle-aged man pushed his corrosive sphere forward at the same time.
The two attacks met head-on in midair. The instant holy radiance collided with corrosion, a violent impact blanketed the entire canyon. Savage pressure scattered in all directions, wave after wave crashing into both rock walls and blasting open fresh fractures along the gorge.
Seraphine frowned and immediately stepped back.
In that brief instant, she’d clearly felt something shift in the man’s power—something subtle, but real. His corrosion became nastier, harder to deal with. It actually started eroding her Divine Power. Black energy bit into the edges of her sacred light. It didn’t shatter immediately, but it was no longer the effortless suppression she’d had before.
For a moment, both sides were locked in a stalemate.
And right then—
Ethan’s power erupted again.
After the snow-white gemstone fused into him, his adaptation speed kept climbing. The corrosive force that had been invading and harming him earlier was now being actively drawn into his body, gathering along newly formed energy pathways. It no longer tore at his flesh. It was seized by his transparent lightning, pulled apart, converted—then used to refill the reserves he’d just emptied.
It didn’t take long.
Ethan surged back to peak.
He lifted his head, locked onto the middle-aged man, and moved.
His body became lightning.
Transparent electric light tore through the corrosive haze as he streaked across the battlefield’s center. In a blink, he was right in front of the man.
The man had only just stabilized his clash with Seraphine and hadn’t even fully turned—
When Ethan’s fist crashed into his shoulder.
The same side where his arm had already been broken.
The power behind that punch was no weaker than Ethan’s earlier massive lightning sphere. Transparent lightning coiled around his knuckles. Corrosive energy was compressed into it too. The moment his fist landed, the man’s defenses were ripped open again, and the violent force surged into his body through the existing damage.
The middle-aged man was blasted backward.
He flew, smashing through rolling aftershocks, until he slammed hard into the canyon wall.
Ethan’s blood heated instantly.
He could feel the power roaring back through him, the suffocating pressure in his chest finally replaced by something sharp and alive. When he threw that punch, he’d felt it clearly—this canyon’s corrosion wasn’t unusable. As long as the energy core inside the snow-white gem guided it, he could pull it into himself and have his transparent lightning reshape it into his own attack.
What he hadn’t expected...
...was just how terrifying the canyon’s corrosive power truly was.
At this point, Ethan had no more hesitation.
He opened his hand. The corrosion in the air immediately surged toward him. Black energy flowed along the ground, curled into fissures in the air itself, and poured into his palm—then ran up his arm and into his body. Each stream of power that entered him was caught by transparent lightning, torn apart, reorganized, and finally released back out as blinding electric arcs.
The sky brightened under lightning.
Transparent electricity poured off Ethan in waves, dragging thin black edges of corrosion with it as it hammered the middle-aged man’s position again and again. Every strike tore open fresh cracks in the canyon floor. Loose rock rattled down the walls. The battlefield’s central energy churned even more violently.
The man’s breathing broke.
One arm was already destroyed. His shoulder still carried the fused damage—transparent lightning intertwined with corrosion, eating and blasting at once. Watching Ethan absorb the canyon’s energy endlessly and throw it back as lightning, he finally realized the fight was slipping out of his hands.
If this kept going—
He might actually die here.
He didn’t dare waste another second. He retreated several steps fast, each footfall punching deep craters into the rock. Corrosion exploded from under his soles, blocking a few of Ethan’s pursuing strikes. Then he used the recoil to launch himself into the air, hovering above the canyon, his face twisted with ugliness.
"Sis! These people are way too strong!" he shouted, voice tearing across the gorge. "If you don’t come out and help, you’ll never see me again!"
The shout echoed through the canyon.
The moment it ended, a strange dimensional rift opened in the sky. It spread slowly from above, its edges shimmering with unstable light as the surrounding space was pulled into visible distortion. The sky that had been lit by lightning turned oppressive the instant that rift appeared, as if something heavy had dropped over it.
Then an unbelievably seductive woman stepped out.
Her feet landed on empty air without falling. Purple energy rippled lightly off her body—just a trace—and the nearby sky split open with a huge tear. That gash hung behind her like a wound carved by a blade. The aura spilling from it intertwined with the canyon’s corrosion, and the entire space answered with a low, stressed rumble.
Ethan’s gaze snapped to her immediately.
The energy she carried was wrong.
Not like the middle-aged man’s corrosion that crushed everything directly—but something more warped, harder to measure. It didn’t slam down right away, yet it had already opened the sky and made Emerald Castle’s formation falter for a beat.
She glanced at the man’s battered state and curled her lips in disdain.
"Didn’t expect the outsiders this time to be that capable," she drawled, voice dripping mockery. "They beat you into this pathetic shape?"
Then she turned her eyes toward Ethan and the distant Emerald Castle army. There was no tension in her tone—only casual amusement.
"I’ve been lying around at home for ages. Might as well come see what these people are really made of."
As her words fell, her energy detonated.
Purple light surged out of her, spreading upward first—then condensing between heaven and earth into a gigantic violet projection. The shadow loomed above the canyon, enormous, heavy, slowly lowering with suffocating pressure. As violet energy fell, the air warped into rippling distortions, and fresh cracks began to open along both canyon walls.
Ethan’s eyes went wide.
The power radiating from that projection was beyond anything he understood. It wasn’t a simple attack. It was a whole slab of annihilation pressing down from the sky. If it fully descended, at least half of Emerald Castle’s people would be swept into it and crushed on the spot.
Ethan tightened his fist. The strength he’d just recovered began to surge again, ready to move.
But before he could decide how—
Catheryn slowly pushed herself upright beside him.
Dozens of snow-white gemstones rose into the air around her, one after another, orbiting her in a tightening ring. Each gem pulsed with terrifying power. Those energies linked together, then poured into Catheryn. The aura that had been weakened to the brink began climbing rapidly, and the air around her was forced open again as if she was taking the space back by right.
