Chapter 230: Chapter 231: Crossing Over
The wormhole was steady again.
Willith and the Supremes had returned to the front. The millions of gathered beings who had been watching the whole situation were now talking among themselves, the nervous energy of the shaking slowly converting into curiosity.
"Looks like it’s been settled," someone said.
"What happened exactly? The universe was shaking and then all the Supremes vanished at once."
"I felt that vibration in my cultivation base. That wasn’t a small event."
"I heard it was a breakthrough attempt."
"A breakthrough that shook the entire universe? What level?"
"Probably Multiversal."
The nearby conversations went quiet for a moment.
"Inside the universe?"
"Apparently."
"Who does that?"
"Someone from the human race, I think."
"The same one the Supremes were asking about earlier?"
"Maybe."
The pieces were circulating but nobody had the full picture. The Supremes at the front weren’t volunteering anything. They stood composed and said nothing, which told the crowd enough to keep speculating.
---
Through the wormhole connection, William’s presence arrived.
Not his full manifestation. Just a directed communication — the way two Universal Wills spoke across a permanent bridge when the matter wasn’t urgent enough for a full appearance but was too significant to ignore.
*Willith.* His voice carried clearly through the connection. *I felt your universe approaching structural collapse. Do you need assistance?*
"No," Willith said. "It’s already been handled."
*What happened?*
"Runar," she said. "He attempted his Multiversal breakthrough inside my universe. The vibrations were destabilizing my structure. I cut the training dimension out and threw it into the void."
A pause.
Then William laughed.
It was a short laugh, genuine, the kind that came from hearing something that was both absurd and impressive at the same time.
*Runar,* he said. *Of course it was.* Another beat. *I will say, Willith, I have never faced a situation like yours. My universe can accommodate multiple Multiversal realm breakthroughs simultaneously. I am simply strong enough to absorb the pressure. You should consider strengthening your foundation.*
Willith’s response was immediate. "Show off."
William laughed again.
"Anyways," she said. "Let’s continue. He’ll arrive later."
*Understood,* William said, still amused. *I’ll be watching.*
His presence withdrew from the connection.
Willith opened the crossing fully.
---
The millions of beings began moving through the wormhole.
The first group crossed the threshold and entered William’s universe.
Then massive suppression hit.
Every cultivator who stepped through felt it immediately — a compression that landed on their cultivation base like a physical weight. Their power didn’t disappear. It just became harder to access, harder to output, harder to sustain at the levels they were used to operating at.
The reason was simple. William’s universe had a fundamentally higher realm ceiling, and ambient energy density than Willith’s. The baseline pressure of the environment itself was calibrated to support beings at a much higher level. Every cultivator from Willith’s universe had spent their entire life training in a lower-pressure environment, and their cultivation bases reflected that. Stepping into William’s universe was stepping into an environment their bodies and cultivation weren’t built for.
The weaker cultivators felt it worst. Some of them could barely maintain their footing. Several stopped just past the threshold and stood very still, adjusting, forcing their cultivation bases to stabilize against the new pressure. A few had to be steadied by the people beside them.
The Supremes fared better but not by as much as they would have liked. Their output compressed noticeably. Techniques that had felt effortless on the other side now required active maintenance to hold.
---
The ancient gods felt nothing.
Thor stood in the middle of William’s universe with the easy comfort of someone who had never left. Odin’s presence settled naturally into the environment without adjustment. Zeus stood at his full power, no compression, no strain.
Wukong was eating a peach and didn’t look up.
They were not alone. Beings from William’s universe had already gathered in large numbers on their side of the wormhole — combat practitioners, academics, ancient entities, all of them watching the incoming crowd with focused attention. They filled the space ahead, a wall of presences that the arriving beings from Willith’s universe walked directly into.
The contrast was immediate and obvious.
The beings from Willith’s universe were stepping through suppressed, adjusting, some of them struggling to maintain basic output. The beings from William’s universe standing across from them were completely at ease in the same environment.
William’s combat majority were trying not to look too confident.
They were not entirely succeeding.
One of William’s cultivators near the front leaned toward the person beside him and said quietly: "They’re suppressed already."
"First time in our universe," the other said. "They’ll adjust."
"How long does adjustment take?"
"Depends on the individual. Days for strong ones. Weeks for weaker ones."
The young fighter looked at the incoming crowd. "The tournament starts tomorrow."
The other cultivator said nothing, which was its own kind of answer.
---
A senior being from William’s academic minority, standing further back, was watching the crossing with different eyes. He was looking at the variety of techniques and cultivation signatures visible even through the suppression — the sheer diversity of paths represented in the incoming crowd. His expression was focused and interested.
He pulled out something to write on and started noting things down.
---
In the void between universes, the training dimension drifted in silence.
The merger was accelerating.
Forty-one universes smashing into each other at every boundary simultaneously. The physical matter at each contact point was dissolving — not violently, just converting, the solid structure of planets and stars and spatial fabric breaking down into information particles that held all the energy and content of what they had been, but without any physical form.
The matter was gone. Only information remained at every point the universes had touched.
The conversion was spreading inward from every boundary toward the core of each universe. As each universe lost its physical structure it stopped being a separate entity and became part of a single unified information field that contained all forty-one simultaneously. The field was expanding as more matter converted. The boundaries between the universes were disappearing not because the universes were being destroyed but because they were becoming the same thing.
Runar felt it reach his body.
The cellular structure — the more than eighty trillion galaxy-level cells he had spent three months building — began converting at the outer layers. His physical form dissolving from the outside inward as the information field expanded to include him.
He didn’t resist.
He let it happen and kept pushing toward the center where the last of the physical matter remained.
His Rule-light body, his genetic structure, the quantum brain chip embedded behind his temple — all of it beginning the same process. Converting. Becoming information.
He could feel what was waiting on the other side of the conversion.
Not energy. Not matter. Something that contained both without being either.
He pushed toward it and held everything steady as the last physical structures began to dissolve.
The void around the training dimension was completely silent.
Inside it, the conversion continued.
