Chapter 85: Chapter 83: Jiang Jichen, You Liar

Under normal circumstances, in the short time it took to walk out of Ice Dragon Valley, Jiang Jichen estimated that recovering even twenty percent of his cultivation and healing his injuries would have been the absolute limit.

But thanks to the generous supply of Miracle Pills from Miss Qingya, his recovery had been forcefully pushed to fifty percent!

With his cultivation and injuries at fifty percent recovery, Jiang Jichen could already walk freely and even engage in the most intense combat.

At that moment, Jiang Jichen was truly moved. He felt Miss Qingya was being far too good to him, which made him both uneasy and embarrassed.

So, after they left Ice Dragon Valley, Jiang Jichen unhesitatingly untied half of the Storage Bags from his waist and handed them to Miss Qingya. "Miss Qingya, you’ve been far too good to me, and I have no way to repay your kindness. Since you seem to have taken a liking to these mundane items, please take them!"

Miss Qingya was thrilled and didn’t think twice!

After all, Jiang Jichen had brought these Storage Bags out from the treasure ground in Ice Dragon Valley. They had been hanging at his waist, drawing everyone’s attention and envy. What else could they possibly contain, if not Supreme Treasures?

’As for what Jiang Jichen called "mundane items"... Heh, since when did the treasure ground of Ice Dragon Valley contain mundane items?’

Quickly stowing away the Storage Bags from Jiang Jichen, the smile on Qingya’s face grew even more gentle and charming. She finally felt that all her sacrifices had been worthwhile.

"Jichen, how could anything you give me be mundane? I can tell just by looking that they’re exquisite and extraordinary. I absolutely love them!"

As Miss Qingya said this, she thought to herself, ’I’m being a little shameless!’

’Well, it doesn’t matter. What’s a little flattery in exchange for half of the Supreme Treasures?’

Hearing her words, Jiang Jichen grew even more uneasy. He wanted nothing more than to flee this place and get away from Miss Qingya, so he quickly said, "I’m glad you like them, Miss Qingya. Ahem, my injuries are halfway healed, and I need to go find my aunt right away, so... as much as I hate to part with you, I’m afraid I must bid you farewell!"

When Miss Qingya heard Jiang Jichen was leaving on his own, she was ecstatic.

’Just a moment ago, I was stressing over how to suggest we part ways so I could find a private place to inspect the Supreme Treasures in the Storage Bags. I can’t believe he was so considerate and brought it up himself!’

However, Qingya forcefully suppressed the urge to laugh with delight. Instead, she put on the sorrowful, reluctant expression of a lover being parted, and said plaintively, "I’m heartbroken to part with you too, Jichen. But since you’re going to find your aunt, I shouldn’t stand in your way!"

As she spoke, the beautiful Miss Qingya took out another bag of Spirit Pills, placed it in Jiang Jichen’s hand, and said gently, "I won’t stop you from finding your aunt, but you’re still injured. Here are some more Primordial Spirit and Qi Blood Pills. You must keep them with you and take them as needed. Only then can I rest easy!"

Seeing Miss Qingya praise him again and give him even more Miracle Pills...

Jiang Jichen was deeply moved. If it weren’t for the fact that Jiang Ling’Er was utterly obsessed with money—ready to fight to the death anyone who touched her jewels—he would have unhesitatingly given the other half of the Storage Bags, the ones belonging to her, to Miss Qingya as well.

After all, all the gold and jewels in the bags, plus the value of the Basic-Level Storage Bags themselves, weren’t worth as much as a single Primordial Spirit Pill!

’Sigh, only now do I realize what a beautiful and kind girl Miss Qingya truly is. Hmm, a girl this outstanding is definitely qualified to be my personal attendant. I’ll have to recruit her sooner or later!’

After that incredibly narcissistic thought, Jiang Jichen waved a sorrowful goodbye to Qingya. "Farewell, Miss Qingya!"

He said his goodbyes, but inwardly he was thinking, ’When Qingya discovers the truth, I pray she doesn’t come looking for me. I can’t even imagine her reaction when she sees what’s in those Storage Bags.’

’But I did tell her they were mundane items!’

After bidding her farewell, Jiang Jichen didn’t wait for a response. He activated Shadow Step and vanished deep into the dense forest.

Watching Jiang Jichen’s figure retreat as if he were fleeing for his life, Qingya felt a flicker of puzzlement.

But her puzzlement was quickly replaced by a happy smile. She swiftly left the area, heading in the opposite direction. After traveling some distance and making sure no one was around, she took out the Storage Bags he had given her.

’I wonder what kind of Supreme Treasures are inside. It would be amazing if there was an Ancient Spirit Weapon.’

’With so many Storage Bags, there must be more than just an Ancient Spirit Weapon. There should be Ancient Secret Artifacts and Supreme Spiritual Techniques, too!’

’That idiot, Jiang Jichen... why would he be willing to give these Supreme Treasures to me? Sigh, the battle must have been too intense. He must’ve taken a blow to the head!’

Qingya thought with malicious glee as she undid the Restriction on a Storage Bag. Just as the first one opened, she laughed joyfully. "Haha... This time..."

However, her laughter cut off abruptly. Qingya’s expression turned incredibly foul in an instant. She quickly opened the other Storage Bags, pouring out a mountain of glittering gold and jewels that illuminated the forest.

’The Supreme Treasures... where are they? How did they turn into mundane items?’

A cool breeze whistled through the forest, but it was instantly drowned out by a blood-curdling shriek. "Jiang Jichen, you liar! I, Qingya, swear we are mortal enemies!"

A flock of birds took flight, startled from the trees. Gritting her teeth, on the verge of tears but unable to cry, Qingya stood there muttering, "My Primordial Spirit Pills... my Top-grade Qi Blood Pills... my Rare Nourishing God Pills... Jiang Jichen, this hatred is irreconcilable!"

With a wave of her sleeve, the mountain of gold and jewels was instantly annihilated, turning to dust.

...

Far away, Jiang Jichen suddenly felt a chill. He could have sworn he faintly heard someone calling his name.

"Sigh, that has to be Qingya," he muttered, quickly swallowing one of the Primordial Spirit Pills she had given him to calm his nerves. "I have to get far, far away from her. That woman is way too dangerous right now!"

He was now at the border between the inner and central regions of the Moonlight Forest, a very dangerous area.

Having just escaped death in Ice Dragon Valley brought Jiang Jichen no relief. In fact, he felt his current situation was even more perilous.

The experts above the Innate Fourth Realm would surely be searching for him now that they knew he was out of Ice Dragon Valley. If he ran into any of them in his current state, death would be the only outcome.

Therefore, instead of heading toward the edge of the Moonlight Forest, Jiang Jichen did the opposite and pressed deeper into its depths.

As for Jiang Ling’Er, he didn’t need to worry about her safety; he had given her the Forbidden Wooden Sword.

However, back in Ice Dragon Valley, Jiang Ling’Er had told him that someone had killed members of her Spirit Moon Sect and had been relentlessly hunting her ever since.

’I wonder who’s hunting Ling’Er?’

Jiang Jichen wondered. Just then, the Sound Transmission Jade in his Storage Bag suddenly flared to life with Han Qing’s voice.

Han Qing said that Little Yue’Er had been abducted by a mysterious, giant beast and taken into the deepest part of the Moonlight Forest!

Hearing that Little Yue’Er was in trouble, Jiang Jichen’s expression changed drastically. His speed erupted as he raced toward the depths of the Moonlight Forest.
