Chapter 268: Chapter 266: Going Too Far
’Why... is this bastard everywhere?’
The expressions of Cang Lengshan and his men changed drastically the moment they saw Jiang Jichen appear.
Worse, Jiang Jichen had suddenly struck, blasting one of Cang Lengshan’s men into the horde of Desert Mummies.
As a result, Cang Lengshan couldn’t leave immediately—not unless he was willing to abandon a disciple of the Cang Family.
If he did that, his reputation within the family would plummet, and he would completely lose any chance of competing for the Patriarch’s position.
’What a ruthless and brilliant move!’
A chill ran down their spines as Cang Lengshan and his men marveled at the tactic.
But after blasting a Cang Family disciple into the horde, Jiang Jichen suffered a backlash himself.
It was as if he had taken the full force of his own punch.
However, his body was so resilient that the blow meant nothing to him.
Besides, Jiang Jichen hadn’t used an Ultimate Kill technique; his sole purpose was to knock the man into the swarm of Desert Mummies.
"You can all leave. I don’t mind!"
Jiang Jichen said casually.
But Cang Lengshan and his men’s faces turned livid, and they were seething with fury.
’You don’t mind?’
’Damn you, of course you don’t mind!’
Jiang Jichen, however, paid no mind to Cang Lengshan and his men, who were on the verge of erupting. Instead, his figure flickered, and in a few blinks, he was by Yee Youmeng and Hua Xiaoling’s side.
At that moment, however, the sealing layer of sand at Yee Youmeng and Hua Xiaoling’s feet was broken through. Seven or eight Desert Mummies burst from the ground. Hua Xiaoling couldn’t dodge in time and one of the mummies grabbed her by the ankle. She was unable to break free. She was about to be bitten on her delicate neck by several other charging mummies, or have her heart pierced by their long claws.
With a cold snort, Jiang Jichen immediately used Position Shifting, swapping places with Hua Xiaoling.
He instantly became the mummies’ new target!
As for Hua Xiaoling, now free from the encirclement, she only had to deal with the single mummy still gripping her ankle.
The mummy had been pulled out of the horde along with her by the Position Shifting. With a swift slash of her sword, Hua Xiaoling lopped off its withered hand.
Then, she flashed over to help Yee Youmeng!
Not a single word was exchanged between them throughout this entire sequence.
For one, everything happened far too quickly.
More importantly, they were a team. They had chemistry and coordination.
No words were needed; they all knew what the others would do.
Now, Jiang Jichen faced the mummies’ attacks alone. He clenched his fists and met the withered hands stabbing at him head-on.
A faint golden radiance seemed to coat his fists, with hints of Seven-Colored Spiritual Light swirling within.
SMASH! SMASH! SMASH!
Jiang Jichen’s golden fists, glowing with a trace of Seven-Color light, collided with the withered hands of five mummies.
The mummies’ hands were instantly blown to bits, leaving them handless.
From a distance, Cang Lengshan and his men couldn’t help but gasp as they watched.
They had all fought the Desert Mummies and knew just how tough their bodies were, how difficult they were to destroy.
And their withered hands were the hardest parts of all.
Yet... they couldn’t withstand a single punch from Jiang Jichen, shattering on impact.
’Just how hard must his fists be? How much power would that take?’
"Young Master, save me!"
Just as Cang Lengshan and his men were frozen in shock, the Cang Family disciple Jiang Jichen had knocked into the horde of Desert Mummies cried out in panic.
Though he was an expert at the Foundation Establishment Perfection Realm, he was all alone. Worse, he’d been thrown into the horde with no time to prepare. He couldn’t muster his full strength and was immediately in mortal danger, on the verge of being killed at any moment. All he could do was scream to Cang Lengshan for help.
Cang Lengshan’s expression was grim and conflicted. Finally, he spoke, his voice heavy, "We have to save him. First, seal the sand. Don’t let them attack from underground."
As for the Teleportation Jade Talisman, Cang Lengshan would never use it on a mere family disciple. Besides, he’d already used one to get Cang Lengyun out of here. Now he only had a single talisman left—one he was saving for his own life. He couldn’t possibly waste it here.
Jiang Jichen had completely forced Cang Lengshan and his men to join the fray.
They felt helpless and utterly humiliated!
Their involvement immediately drew the attention of nearly half the mummy horde, which in turn made things much easier for Jiang Jichen and his companions.
Against the Desert Mummies, a powerful Body Refiner was the perfect counter!
After shattering the hands of a few more mummies, Jiang Jichen used his body as a weapon, simply plowing forward.
He violently carved a path through the horde, sending any mummy in his way flying.
As if there were no obstacles at all, he appeared beside Yee Youmeng and Hua Xiaoling.
"Hey, long time no see, Little Youmeng! You’ve gotten even cooler,"
Jiang Jichen greeted with a grin.
Yee Youmeng remained silent, merely casting a faint glance his way.
Jiang Jichen didn’t mind; he knew Yee Youmeng had a cold exterior but a warm heart.
At the same time, he turned to Hua Xiaoling. "Hua Girl, have you missed this Young Master?"
"I have! I’ll miss you even in death!"
Hua Xiaoling was always so brutally direct that even someone as thick-skinned as Jiang Jichen found her a bit much to handle.
Even as he spoke, Jiang Jichen didn’t stop moving. He unleashed a barrage of Seven Stars Sky-Breaking Fists, sending the surrounding mummies flying—and landing them precisely amongst Cang Lengshan’s group.
Cang Lengshan had just finished off a few mummies and was pleased to see their numbers dwindling.
But before he could even feel a moment of relief, he saw more mummies raining down from the sky, landing all around them.
"Jiang Jichen, you’ve gone too far!"
Cang Lengshan roared, his eyes bloodshot with uncontrollable rage.
Jiang Jichen’s indifferent voice drifted over. "I’ve gone too far? Heh, I never thought the esteemed Young Master of the Cang Family would utter such words. Tell me, who was it just now who planned to use two girls trapped in a hopeless situation as bait, just so you could all escape unscathed?"
"So they’re just ’damnable commoners’? Then what does that make you people?"
"I, for one, don’t believe there’s any distinction between high and low-born when facing life and death."
"If we weren’t forbidden from attacking each other here, believe me, I would’ve done a lot more than just toss a few mummies your way!"
"You say I’m going too far? Fine! So what if I decide to bully you ungrateful, useless pieces of trash? What are you going to do about it?"
Without pausing for breath, Jiang Jichen stood in the distance, one hand on his hip, the other pointing as he berated Cang Lengshan and his men.
As for Cang Lengshan’s group... they were desperately fighting for their lives against the mummies, caught in one perilous situation after another, completely unable to talk back.
Furthermore, Jiang Jichen’s tirade struck home, every word a dagger to the heart. They were so enraged they felt their blood boil, almost fainting on the spot.
As a result, their combat effectiveness, morale, and fighting spirit plummeted, and the Desert Mummies’ assault threw them into complete disarray.
"Young Master, if we don’t use the Secret Artifact, I’m afraid we’re all going to die here!"
A Cang Family disciple cried out, his face a mask of despair. He was being swarmed by several mummies, completely powerless to fight back.
Cang Lengshan’s face was purple with rage!
He had just refused to use his Secret Artifact to save Yee Youmeng and Hua Xiaoling, and now Jiang Jichen was blatantly forcing his hand.
’Damn it! This bastard is so petty, and he goes around acting like he’s not!’
’What a hypocritical, treacherous villain!’
Cang Lengshan cursed Jiang Jichen internally.
But he and his men were trapped in a huge swarm of mummies. They didn’t have ridiculously tough bodies like Jiang Jichen. If this went on, they might actually die here.
He gritted his teeth and said with extreme reluctance, "Use the Secret Artifact!"
