Chapter 216

[You have earned EXP 1,000,000]

[You have earned SC 10,000,000]

[Level up]

[You have obtained a corrupted S rank mana crystal]

‘Well, that was strange.’

I thought while storing the dead minotaur’s body in my inventory. I gained the coins for an S rank monster, but EXP for an A rank monster. Then there was the corrupted mana crystal. The hell was up with this dungeon?

No matter how I looked at it, this place reeked of a trap. Aside from the stench, this place was already giving.

Anyway, the rational move in this situation would be to turn back. But whoever it was, they wouldn’t let me go so easily. Better to get in there and get as strong as I could, so even if I were to go outside, not many would be able to hold me back. Even if I had killed the entire town, it wouldn’t be easy now.

But for now, that was.

If one monster raised my level so much, I could only salivate thinking about how the rest of the monsters in there could help me. Whoever sent me here sure sent me into a trap, but I couldn’t help but thank them.

May god have mercy on your soul after I kill you.

My shop coins doubled in an instant. It was something, but still not enough for the meteor or the spell I wanted. Once I had the mind-reading spell, life would be so much easier. Even in my thousands of skills, there wasn’t one like that.

Well, among them, about a thousand were the fire-type skills, or different attacks, and then offensive, defensive, or support spells of different kinds, some having the same name but different effects, spending less mana depending on the amount of mana consumed.

There were also weapon skills such as sword or spear arts, and along those lines, of every kind of weapon, each different than the other. Some low-rate ones, some high-rate ones.

And so on. Still, nothing came even close to the system spells. Meteor was a spell not even Archmages in the magical world could cast; it was that much of a high-level spell, so even after all my research, while I could make lower variants of it, I could never make the full-fledged spell that the system had. Hence, I would have to buy it every time from the system if I wanted to use it.

But the price…

[Meteor: 100,000,000,000]

I ask this every time I see it, but damn. Just how many zeroes are there? But, considering this spell could even kill the gods of that world, this spell was worth the price.

Still, isn’t a hundred billion a bit too much? Killing an SSS rank entity would only grant me one billion gold coins.

It wasn’t like SSS rank individuals were growing on trees. Well, it wasn’t like there was nothing beyond SSS rank, so killing just a few of them would be enough too. But that was a time world’s apart.

For now, I need to focus on finishing this dungeon.

And since it was so, I think it was time to raise my stats too. My bloodlines had borne no fruit, and my achievements were not put to proper use yet, so I was going to focus on leveling up for now only. It was easier here anyway.

So, arranging some of my stats points, I raised them like…

[Stats

Strength: 300

Agility: 250

Stamina: 300

Intelligence: 300

Charm: 200]

[Bonus stats: 25]

Leaving my charm alone, I upped all other stats to 300, leaving agility for now. I’ll level it up next, just as soon as I kill the next EXP packet.

~~

Fuck. Where are the EXP packets?

Aside from the one minotaur at the earlier levels, I found not one more. Even after going through the whole dungeon for about three hours, I didn’t come across one.

Damn it.

Going around wasn’t helping me, but even after using [Trace] and [Sense] to scan about a hundred meters around me after every 200 meters, I couldn’t sense anything.

Damn it.

Just like that, after running and wasting my mana in thousands for about seven hours, I finally arrived at the entrance of the next floor. And that was when I realized, there was only one monster on this entire level.

Fuck. No wonder the EXP and the coin gain were so high. There was no easy going in this world, I learned that much.

Anyway, after recovering, I entered the next stage, and after just a few minutes, I came across a monster. Bigger than the last one, less on steroids, and hell of a lot more powerful.

“MWOOOHHH!!!”

Its roar shook the entire area, pushing even me a little back, even with all my stats at almost the entry point of the S rank, except for my agility.

Still, I could move faster and more nimbly than this giant piece of meat.

The cavern was large enough for even that giant monster to move freely, so it was too big for me to execute any kind of movement I wanted.

Just two problems.

One…

“Clang!!!”

The loud clang as my sword, even imbued with a debuff status effect, collided with its outer skin.

It was hella hard.

[Celestial demon sword art]

[Fourth move: Iron and thunder strike]

Lightning came out of my sword as it struck the giant monster, barely leaving a scratch on its skin except for the dark, charred patch. While the physical attack did almost nothing, the lightning attack did very well.

Well, not enough, since it was still technically a physical attack, but it did enough to give me a hint.

[Lightning shower]

I put the sword in my inventory and assumed the mage mode, creating some distance from the monster and raining down lightning spells on it.

Lightning shower was the strongest spell I could pull off at the moment, while being mindful of my mana.

[Swift steps]

The monster was struck head-on, but still kept charging at me even as it took the damage. All things considered, it was still faster than I, so using swift steps, I moved away, but was still struck by the sheer force of its being, flinging me away a bit.

It made me wonder if I could kill this monster within my mana limit. Still, my mana had increased a lot with the fifty-point increase, so it wasn’t really a losing battle.

[Thunder point]

I placed my hand on the ground and created a field of thunder that would strike my enemy as soon as they stepped in, affecting their speed as well as their senses.

This minotaur was mindful, but still a little dumb, so as soon as its charge failed, it charged at me again, even if there was a deep gash on its shoulder where the lightning damage had affected it the most.

Rumble!!!!

Rumble!!!!

MMMMMMMMWWWWWOOOHHHHHH!!!!

Dare I say, I was out of mana, but I managed to tenderize the cow meat before me with that spell.

While the beast was still out of its senses with the wide range and massive attack, I equipped my sword and once again imbued it with the sharpening effect and lunged at the beast.

If this failed, I would have to retreat, but thankfully, the skin and meat were soft enough for a beautiful…

Slice…

A clean slice from the next, killing the monster in one final strike.

“Haa… Haa…”

While my skills were amazing, they consumed too much mana and stamina, but I couldn’t just ignore other stats to just focus on them, since if I didn’t have enough mobility and strength to execute that last strike perfectly, I wouldn’t have been able to kill the minotaur.

“Haa…”

Resting well after a while, I checked the rewards, once again going wide-eyed.

Wide-eyed with anger.

[You have earned EXP 1,000,000]

[You have earned SC 10,000,000]

[Level up]

[You have obtained a corrupted SS rank mana crystal]

What the…?

Where was the EXP and SC advancement, along with the crystal?

This monster was clearly stronger than the last one, so I should have received more EXP at the very least, even if not more coins.

What the hell was this?
