Chapter 90 -90: Seeing Death Without Saving (3)_1
“I tried asking some friends, but they also didn’t know what’s going on. I only invested all my money in a new project at the end of last month because the bank postponed the repayment time, and now it’s turned out like this.” Shen Liangnian slightly tired, raised his glass and drank in one gulp, then continued, “However, at present, the company is not my main concern. If necessary, I can just sell it. The money from that would be enough to repay the bank. The most important thing for me now is to find Haohao.”
“Haohao? Your little girlfriend?” Cong Rong asked back in surprise, “It seems like you told me last month that you couldn’t contact your girlfriend. It’s been over twenty days, and you haven’t been able to get in touch with her?”
Shen Liangnian shook his head: “Her phone has been off, and she didn’t go to the drama crew in Yunnan. She just visited my company a while ago, and then there was no news. I even paid for someone to check the flight and train check-in records, but there was no record of her. I even drove back to my hometown, where we don’t have any relatives left. Many people don’t know us. I asked a few old people, and they all said they hadn’t seen her. How come a perfectly fine person can simply vanish without a trace?”
“Liangnian, rest assured, she’s not a child. She’s an adult, she couldn’t just disappear. Maybe she has some sort of pre-marital jitters, ran off somewhere to rethink things. Once she figures it out, she’ll definitely come back.” Cong Rong comforted Shen Liangnian, before returning to the main topic: “Liangnian, I watched as you built up that company. Three years of hard work, it’s a pity to just sell it off like that.”
Speaking of this, Cong Rong asked again: “Liangnian, did you offend someone at some point, and they’re out to get you? I asked my dad, and he said he couldn’t find out anything. And what’s more, those guys who usually suck up to my dad, when I asked him to negotiate with them for you to delay the repayment for a while, they all fed us some bureaucratic nonsense. They said they couldn’t do anything about it, and that they’re not the decision-makers. This whole thing is really fucking fishy!”
Shen Liangnian thought for a moment, then said: “I didn’t compete with anyone for any business this year. Besides, whoever can get the bank to press for repayments won’t be an ordinary person. Besides you guys, I don’t know anyone powerful.”
“Damn it, this is really weird!” Cong Rong cursed, then turned his head and asked Liang Chen, who had remained silent all this time: “Chen, have you heard anything?”
Liang Chen was relaxed, sitting there. Upon hearing Cong Rong’s words, he took another leisurely sip of his drink, then laughed and said, “What news could I possibly know?”
“Oh please, is there any gossip in this world that you don’t know?”
Liang Chen continued to laugh: “Quit giving me a hard time. If you really want to know, I can make a call to my old man tomorrow. Maybe he might know something.”
