Chapter 723 -724: Courage (16)_1
Her body was just as he remembered, soft and delicate, and oddly enough, it gave his broad and strong chest a sense of fulfillment.
Liang Chen was already holding Jing Haohao tightly, but he still pulled her even closer into his arms unsatisfiedly.
His grip was tight, enough to feel painful on Jing Haohao’s back.
Jing Haohao instinctively struggled a bit, wanting him to loosen his grip, but suddenly Liang Chen freed one of his hands. He clutched her arm and gently entwined it around his waist. He whispered into her ear against the crisp wind on the highway, “Haohao, hold onto me.”
This strong and domineering man had never spoken in such a pleading tone before.
Jing Haohao’s body gently trembled in his arms, and her hands instinctively clung to his waist.
As if he achieved immense satisfaction, he pulled her further into his embrace and buried his head on her shoulder.
He inhaled her familiar scent and couldn’t help whispering nervously, “Haohao, do you know, you scared me to death.”
“I thought I would never see you again in my life.”
“Haohao, don’t ever do this again, alright?”
By the end of his words, Liang Chen’s eyes were wet.
He’d never been afraid of anything in his life, but when he found her name on the accident list today, he felt fear coursing through him for the first time.
He was always proud, and even when he loved her deeply, he never articulated his feelings.
He had confessed to her but seldom used sweet words to coax her.
He believed that to declare his love was through actions, not words.
Now, however, it seemed like he was scared out of his wits and couldn’t stop himself from speaking.
“Haohao, do you know? I was thinking that if anything happened to you, I wouldn’t let you bear it alone.”
That was exactly what he thought, if she died, he would accompany her without hesitation.
If he could not stay with her in this world, then he would accompany her in the afterlife.
“My heart stopped beating then, Haohao, it scared me, you really scared me…”
As the saying goes, men do not easily shed tears, but as Liang Chen spoke, tears fell drop by drop, rolling down Jing Haohao’s neck and continued their path downwards.
Jing Haohao didn’t understand the meaning of Liang Chen’s endless words.
He said she scared him… but she had not done anything…
Her mind was filled with confusion, but before she could get a chance to inquire, she felt something wet on her neck.
The man embracing her was in tears…
It felt like something pierced Jing Haohao’s heart, causing her throat to pool with a lump of emotion.
The hand supporting his waist gripped tighter as she stood on the highway, silently holding him a little longer.
…
After an undefined period, Liang Chen finally released Jing Haohao slowly.
