Chapter 278: Chapter 277: Senior Sister, Don’t Tell Me Po Xiao Is My Husband

Jiang Zuo was already on a plane—an express flight with no seats for ordinary people.

After just a few hours, the plane arrived above the Celestial Cloud Mountain Range.

The Celestial Cloud Mountain Range, as its name implied, was a mountain range that soared into the clouds.

It was different from the Holy Land’s Chuanhe Mountain Range, which was perpetually covered in snow, knowing only one season all year.

The Celestial Cloud Mountain Range, however, was lush and green, with flowers blooming in all four seasons.

It was a rare and wonderful place.

One shouldn’t assume that just because it was a mountain range in the Demon Cultivation Realm, it had to be a withered and desolate land. For the most part, the environment here was normal.

The plane landed at a makeshift airfield. It was incredibly crude; apart from being large enough, it had nothing else.

Including a way to fly back.

That’s right—it was a one-way flight.

Everyone who came here knew this. It was, in all likelihood, a plot by the Demon Cultivators.

But fortune favors the bold. Those who dared to come were either supremely confident in their abilities or simply banking on their luck.

Jiang Zuo, however, was unfazed. If he decided to come, he wouldn’t care what plots the other side had. If he didn’t want to come, he wouldn’t set foot here, no matter how safe it was.

It was late at night, and Jiang Zuo wasn’t sure if Su Qi and the others had arrived yet.

However, considering the speed of the Soft Cloud, they probably still needed a little more time.

After leaving the airfield, Jiang Zuo contacted Ximen Chuihuo.

When the call connected, Jiang Zuo heard Ximen Chuihuo’s hushed whisper: "Fellow Daoist Po Xiao?"

"Are you staking out the Yongxi?" Jiang Zuo asked.

"Yeah." Ximen Chuihuo’s voice was so quiet that a non-Cultivator might not have been able to hear it at all.

Jiang Zuo simply said, "Got it."

Then Jiang Zuo hung up. He had never seen a Yongxi before and needed those people to continue their stakeout; otherwise, the creature would be difficult to find.

He didn’t want to disrupt their operation.

Jiang Zuo then took out a coin. While he didn’t know where the Yongxi was, he could find out where Ximen Chuihuo was.

Jiang Zuo shrouded himself in Mist and began to move quickly.

The Celestial Cloud Mountain Range was vast, but he was confident he could find Ximen Chuihuo’s group in a short amount of time.

「On the Soft Cloud」

Jingyue said to Su Qi, "I heard some big news."

Su Qi, lying sprawled on a blanket, said lazily, "Not interested. I want to sleep."

"Really, it’s true! It’s about your husband," Jingyue insisted.

Fine. Su Qi sat up.

Jingyue smiled. "Do you remember Po Xiao?"

Su Qi nodded. "I remember him. But if you’re about to say he’s my husband, I’m not going to be happy. I don’t want to hear that kind of talk."

Jingyue was surprised. "Why would you interpret it that way?"

Su Qi rolled her eyes. "Because you always say that, Senior Sister. Every time some guy pops up, you claim he’s my husband. I’m sick of hearing it.

Besides, what if my husband hears you? He’ll overthink things."

Jingyue waved her hand dismissively. "That’s not what I was talking about. It’s about that Po Xiao. He went for his Tier Two Cultivation assessment these last couple of days and passed in a spectacular fashion."

Su Qi lost interest. This had nothing to do with her husband.

Beside them, Qing Lian asked curiously, "How was it spectacular?"

Jingyue said, "Normally, how does Tianhe Group conduct its Tier Two assessment?"

Su Qi said, "Senior Sister, just get to the point. If you don’t, I’m going back to sleep."

Jingyue didn’t mind and continued, "Normally, for the Tier Two assessment, they first check the quality of one’s attacks and then their combat experience.

But this Po Xiao made the examiners cancel the second stage of the assessment outright.

Guess what he did."

Qing Lian shook her head. She didn’t know.

Su Qi mumbled drowsily, "At most he just broke a stone. It’s not like he could shatter the heavens, could he?"

Jingyue shot Su Qi a look of mock despair. Because that Po Xiao had, in fact, just broken the stone. No matter how nonchalantly she put it now that Su Qi had already said it...

...it just wouldn’t sound as shocking.

So Jingyue just said, "The reason I said it’s related to your husband is that this guy specifically requested to have dinner with you last time. Aren’t you afraid he’ll try to steal you from your husband?

Even if you’re not scared, isn’t your husband?

Your husband may be a Mage now, but this guy is already Tier Two. In a single month!

That’s terrifying."

Su Qi was suddenly wide awake. She thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Senior Sister, you’re overthinking it. He hasn’t shown up all this time. Besides, there must be something wrong with advancing in Cultivation that quickly. I’m not so sure I couldn’t kill him."

Jingyue asked, surprised, "You’ve gotten pretty confident lately, haven’t you?"

Su Qi smiled. "Of course. For my husband’s sake, I can do a lot of things others can’t. I might not be all-powerful, but I am fearless."

Qing Lian asked, "The power of love?"

Jingyue said grumpily, "It’s the power of him carrying her to the rooftop to watch the sunrise this morning. This little lovesick woman is a lost cause."

Changing the subject, Jingyue added, "Anyway, we still couldn’t find out who that Po Xiao really is. We should go slack off at Tianhe Group next time."

Su Qi said, "I can go see my husband. You guys can go see that Po Xiao."

"Alright. When we get back, wait for my signal. I’ll take you guys over."

On a certain mountain peak, Liu Yiyi was cultivating in her room with her eyes closed.

She had advanced a minor Realm. In fact, with a bit more effort, she might have advanced several in a row, but she couldn’t now.

She was different from others. Whenever she leveled up, something would rush into her mind.

Boundless darkness, and within it, countless indistinct things seemed to exist.

These things wandered around her, disturbing her peace of mind.

She was completely helpless against them.

The only thing she could do was to illuminate it all, to use her Holy Light to shine upon all the darkness—the brighter the better, the more dazzling the better.

Dazzling radiance then began to emanate from Liu Yiyi’s body. The Holy Light seemed to want to help her illuminate all the darkness.

It wanted to help her illuminate her entire life.

But today was different. Liu Yiyi, trapped in the darkness, had not managed to expel it. She was still stuck here.

Although she was surrounded by a translucent brightness, she was still afraid.

"Mo Yan, is that you causing trouble?" Liu Yiyi shouted into the darkness. "I’m terrified of this stuff! Don’t mess with me, or I’ll beat you to death!"

The surroundings remained pitch-black and silent.

The only answer Liu Yiyi received was the oppressive darkness.

Liu Yiyi stared nervously into the surrounding darkness. She felt like there were people everywhere, that eyes were watching her from all directions.

"Mo Yan, stop messing around! I’m really scared," Liu Yiyi no longer dared to look directly into the darkness. She lowered her head and pleaded, "Stop looking at me! Stop haunting me!"

Liu Yiyi’s emotions began to shift, and her agitation stimulated the Holy Light.

At that moment, the Holy Light erupted. An endless radiance that would bring light, hope, and peace to the world.

They were needed, and so they would grow strong. Only then could they illuminate the world.

The endless radiance expelled the darkness, pulling Liu Yiyi back from its depths.

Her Holy Light Mastery had improved once again.

At that moment, Liu Yiyi opened her eyes.

Looking around at her familiar room, she let out a heavy sigh of relief.

"Another nightmare. I knew I shouldn’t have spent so much time with Mo Yan."
