Chapter 30: Random EXP Multiplier

Arc activated all the movement skills in his arsenal simultaneously as he stepped into Valemont Castle.

Silver Feet.

Swift Steps.

Light Heels

This was heavily restricted for Class users and could only be pulled off by high-level Elementalists who had learned multicasting. But that wasn’t the case for Arc, who was Classless and could exploit that loophole.

How he knew of this was simply because Arc wasn’t really the first Classless player he’d known.

In his previous life, there was a certain player who was known to be Classless and became one of the biggest Earthling streamers of the Golden Age because they could cast multiple skills at once, stacking their effects and damage to produce devastating results. They suddenly disappeared as though they had never existed, and no one truly ever knew what happened to them.

They were one of the reasons Arc had been confident in going down the Classless path after his Talent reveal.

Arc summoned his three Legendary-tier daggers, Cerberus’ Cursed Fang, Backbone of Ragnarok, and Blade of Shiba, to hover around him as he dashed across the castle.

The undead mobs had yet to spot him when the blades shot ahead and decapitated them in one swift strike. This gave him no reason to stop as he dashed straight for the boss room in a blur while his blades cleared the path at a mental command.

He screeched to a halt before a ballroom, which seemed to come alive with a beautiful lady in a weathered black gown gracefully dancing across the ballroom with invisible partners.

Mini-Boss.

[Lady Elenora Valemont | Lv35]

Once the youngest daughter of House Valemont.

Now an undead noble wandering the ruined ballroom.

She continues dancing with invisible partners.

Players entering the ballroom become unwilling dance partners.

Rejection means certain death.

Lady Elenora froze mid-step the moment Arc stepped into the ballroom, her lifeless eyes peering into him, when she suddenly dropped to all fours like a spider and charged at him.

’What happened to dancing first? I can’t believe I got rejected on sight by a ghoul,’ Arc mused as he strode forward with his daggers out of sight.

The moment Lady Elenora got within range, she sprang forward with her deathly claws outstretched. That was when the first blade hit her chest from behind, exiting through the front as a four-digit damage number blared over her head.

Before she could retreat or risk it all to take his head with one clean strike, the second blade doubled back in the air and surged forward, striking her head-on just as she whipped her head toward the whistling sound.

Her head was blown apart, and she dropped dead at Arc’s feet.

Arc didn’t stop and simply stepped over her, continuing his stride across the ballroom as his daggers danced around him.

He pushed open the door at the end of the ballroom and exited into a dead garden, except for a single blooming cherry blossom tree sitting at the center of the garden, with a skeleton knight sitting beneath it with its sword resting across its lap.

Final Boss.

[The Last Knight of Valemont | Lv45]

When players first reach the center of the estate:

They find a massive cherry blossom tree.

The only living thing in the entire dungeon.

Beneath it sits a knight in black armor.

Motionless. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Covered in petals.

A rusted greatsword rests across his lap.

Beside him sits a weathered gravestone.

The name has faded away.

Indeed, Arc could see a weathered gravestone beside the undead knight, as though it was still protecting whoever had been buried there.

The Last Knight of Valemont’s eyes came alive with a surge of crimson light, and it slowly lifted itself from the ground, breaking the cobwebs that had grown across its bones with age.

"I shall not let you pass." Its disheveled voice boomed across the garden. "I shall spill your blood across this soil like I did with your comrades, for taking her away from me."

With those words, it unsheathed the greatsword, which was the only thing that looked untouched by the passage of time.

[Sword of the Last Knight of Valemont | Epic-tier]

The moment the blade of the sword was exposed from its sheath, the armor pieces strewn around the garden began coming alive and shooting forward, taking their places on the Knight’s frame.

Arc ducked just as a shoulder plate whizzed past his head and took its place on the Knight’s shoulder. It took several more pieces to transform the Last Knight from a skeleton warrior into a towering knight befitting his title.

Arc had almost forgotten just how dangerous a dungeon boss with an Epic-tier weapon was, one that took a fully geared, competent party to take on.

The Last Knight of Valemont would’ve been a worthy opponent to spar with and test his strength against, wielding an Epic-tier weapon instead of his Legendary-tier daggers.

But unfortunately, Arc was aiming for the shortest speedrun in the dungeon records and couldn’t waste time with the Last Knight.

He pocketed his Legendary daggers and pulled out the undead knight’s worst enemy: the Sword of the Holy Emperor.

To complement the Starlight weapon, he pulled out the Wall of Eternity shield as well.

He unsheathed the holy sword, spilling out a beam of white light as the blade was exposed from its sheath. He raised the sword to the sky, letting the white beam spill from its tip and tear through the dark clouds, dispelling them.

A series of buff notifications flooded his vision, filling Arc with immense power and the holy aura of a paladin, coupled with the additional attributes of the two Starlight weapons.

The Last Knight didn’t stand around waiting for Arc to prepare and immediately took a battle stance. Arc didn’t dawdle around either and took his battle stance as soon as the power settled within him.

They fell into an intense staring contest as they stared each other down. Then, without warning—

Boom—

The earth cracked beneath their heels as they shot forward. They arrived before each other in a flash, crossing paths with a clash of their weapons as they sped past one another.

Arc paused to look down at his shield, which had a faint scratch on its surface that repaired itself. He straightened his back as he calmly looked behind him at the Last Knight of Valemont, who was frozen in place.

It dropped to one knee as a thin line slowly appeared across its armor.

"Finally..." it said in a hoarse voice. "Please... take care of my lady."
