There were over a thousand of them, each the size of a person.

"CRACK~"

As his eyes swept across them, a cracking sound echoed. A giant metal egg split open, revealing a half-mechanical Nil Squid.

Chen Yu looked at the newborn Nil Squid and activated his Force Field.

A second later, the Force Field crushed the Nil Squid, obliterating it completely.

He winced internally as he looked at Sophie.

Sophie reverted to her metal bracelet form. Chen Yu slipped it on and promptly left the area.

He continued to scout the ruined city.

Sophie looked at Chen Yu. "Master, I have enough energy for the Evolution now. To complete it, I must enter a deep sleep. It will take some time for the Evolution to finish."

"No problem," Chen Yu nodded.

The moment he finished speaking, Sophie’s human form melted like liquid, finally reverting to its most primitive state: a metal sphere.

Chen Yu picked up the metal sphere that was now Sophie.

Half a day passed. Chen Yu descended from the sky, landing on the edge of a cliff. He stood there, gazing forward.

Before him lay a wide, open plain, stretching out as far as the eye could see.
