Chapter 519: Chapter 253: The Arrogant Lord (Part 2)

Once upon a time, he had a son, influenced by certain ideologies, who naively came to offer him advice, hoping to improve the people’s livelihood and change the world.

The child’s thoughts terrified and angered Gares, so in a fit of rage, he violently assaulted his beloved right in front of him and had dozens of strong soldiers "take good care" of her for a day.

On that day, the woman’s screams and the son’s broken wailing echoed throughout the castle.

Finally, Gares had a moment of compassion and personally severed the limbs of the unfilial son, turning him into a human swine, soaking him in medicinal liquid for the rest of his years.

And those friends of his who harbored similar dangerous thoughts were subjected to all kinds of horrifying tortures, with their corpses displayed at the castle gate as a warning to others.

He knew well the operating rules of this world.

You may be greedy, brutal, and wanton, but you must never tolerate any challenge to the existing order, anything that might attract unwanted attention from above.

To preserve everything he currently had, he had to be more ruthless than anyone else, had to nip any unstable factors in the bud, even if it was his own bloodline.

"No, my lord..."

Butler Galosi tried to argue, cold sweat streaming down his head.

From his observations, the man outside was very likely the Blood Erosion Tyrant, but the lord simply wouldn’t believe it. This made him extremely anxious, but knowing Gares’ nature, he dared not say more, fearing retribution later.

"Not so?"

Gares suddenly interrupted him, his voice rising sharply, his facial fat quivering with rage.

He stood up, his massive body casting a huge shadow that enveloped the butler, his gaze from above fierce like a beast devouring its prey, demanding:

"Do you think I’m that stupid?"

"You too think I’m a fool?"

"Galosi!"

His roar reverberated in the opulent room, causing the crystal chandelier to tremble slightly.

"I once thought you were different from other fools! You were a smart man! But I never expected you to be so stupid, so worthless! To dare deceive me with such clumsy lies!"

"...."

Butler Galosi deeply lowered his head, silent.

Once, he too believed this lord to be wise beyond appearances, ruthless yet with greater foresight.

But now, he only felt a cold chill rising from his spine. This wasn’t wisdom; it was the height of arrogance and obstinacy!

He wouldn’t even bother to walk to the window and see for himself the blood rivers outside, stubbornly immersed in his imagined power games.

Arrogance!

What arrogance!

"Speak!"

Seeing him silent, Gares grew even angrier, taking a step forward as if intending to kick him hard.

"Boom!!!"

At that moment, the thick, expensive oak door, intricately carved, exploded as if struck by a Siege Hammer! Splinters shot inward like a torrential downpour!

A figure, bathed in the faint scent of blood and firelight from the corridor outside, stepped over the wooden debris and appeared at the doorway.

Ye Mingqiu held a Blood Spear still dripping with viscous blood, his black robe fluttering without wind, his cold gaze like two solid ice spikes, instantly locking onto the fat, luxurious Lord in mid-roar inside the room.

The extreme terror of his oppressive presence swept through the room like an invisible tsunami, shattering all of Lord Gares’s roars, anger, suspicion, and that ridiculous arrogance.

’They broke in?’

’Someone actually broke in?’

’The aura on that guy is so powerful.’

’Wait, this feeling, could he really be...’

Gares’s expression froze in an instant, shifting from extreme anger to extreme astonishment, then to incomprehensible bewilderment, and finally into extreme terror like a surging tide.

He opened his mouth but couldn’t make a sound, his fat body beginning to tremble uncontrollably, his previously overbearing air completely vanished.

Ye Mingqiu’s gaze swept over him as if looking at a pile of garbage about to be cleaned away, speaking lightly, his voice low yet laden with the chill of death: "Oh? I’ve found you."

The icy voice echoed through the dead silent yet opulent room, like the sound of a judgment bell.

"Name?"

The Tyrant’s voice was calm and unwavering, carrying an authority that brooked no dispute, as if it were not a question but an order that must be obeyed.

However, Gares, who was in extreme terror, had a mind blank with fear, and his long habit of lording as a Lord led him to instinctively seek shelter that no longer existed rather than answer the question.

He acted as if he didn’t hear the question, his obese body trembling uncontrollably, bloodshot eyes frantically darting around as he desperately screamed with a hoarse voice that had gone off-key:

"Guards... where are the guards?!"

"Where did everyone die?! You useless fools... hurry and protect me!! Pro—"

"Whoosh!"

A sharp sound interrupted his howl abruptly!

A crimson line flashed by!

"Ah!!"

Gares let out a heart-wrenching scream, his fat body tilting abruptly, nearly toppling over to the ground.

Instinctively, he clutched at his left ear, where only a bloody hole remained, warm blood gushing between his fingers, staining his luxurious collar and trembling fingers crimson.

A large ear lay alone on the plush carpeted floor.

A hint of clear displeasure flashed across the face of the Blood Erosion Tyrant, like an artist disturbed by crude noise. He spoke faintly, his voice still low yet carrying a soul-freezing chill:

"Shut up."

But the intense pain and terror left Gares unable to control himself for a moment, his suppressed sobs and gasps unavoidable, looking with horror at Ye Mingqiu, at those eyes seemingly filled with mountains of corpses and seas of blood.

Then, he saw it.

Underneath the placid coldness in the other’s eyes, a trace of pure crimson destructive intent surged like magma!

"No..."

Gares could only let out a cry of despair in his heart.

The Blood Spear moved again! Still so effortlessly, still as fast as lightning!

"Pfft!"

The muffled sound of the blade slicing through flesh and bone came.

Gares clutched his ear’s severed spot with his left hand, cut clean at the wrist, and his fat hand, adorned with gemstone rings, fell with a thud next to his severed ear.

"Urgh ah ah...."

This pain far exceeded the previous one, Gares’ eyes bulging as though to faint, issuing discordant "ho ho" sounds from his throat, curling up like a boiled shrimp.

Yet his impending scream was forcibly swallowed by Ye Mingqiu’s icy, hellish gaze.

Gares clenched his lower lip fiercely, the force splitting the skin instantly, blood trickling down his corner of the mouth.

Using his only hand, he clamped down on the bleeding wound at his left wrist, his obese body convulsing violently from pain and fear, cold sweat soaking his luxurious robes and staining the carpet with dark patches.

He dared not cry out anymore, not even loudly gasp, only emit suppressed gasps from deep within his throat like a bellows.

The arrogance and foolishness nurtured by a long life of opulence and indulgence were utterly crushed under absolute violence and the threat of death.

In this predicament, he felt momentarily transported back to years ago when he was still an unappreciated son, trembling, as if walking on thin ice before his equally ruthless father.

Today, Gares finally remembered the fear of being dominated by a brutal tyrant.

Ye Mingqiu watched him in his pathetic, pain-suppressing state, his eyes calm, repeating the initial question, his voice still dreadfully composed:

"Name."

Gares’ face was as pale as a corpse, lips quivering, summoning all his strength to squeeze out a few clear words from between his teeth, not daring to delay or add any extra explanation:

"Gares... von... Curacao."

He reported his full name, including the middle name representing his family lineage and the surname Curacao, symbolizing honor. At that moment, these titles, which had once bestowed upon him supreme power, had lost all their effect before the Blood Erosion Tyrant; the surname bore no value.

In the next moment, Adira, Modus, and Hikari, guided by the sound, found their way into the room. The Tyrant, holding the Blood Spear, looked down at the humbled Lord, with the ear and hand on the ground silently recounting all that had just occurred.
