Chapter 963: Car Virginity: Boys His Age
The most exciting part of the evening had finally arrived for Phei, and no amount of dignity could hide it.
From the moment they left the cliff mansion, everyone in the limousine could tell:
Phei was trying, truly trying, to sit there with languid elegance expected of a young master but excitement leaked from him anyway.
It glimmered in his eyes and lived in the restless tap of his fingers against his knee; from the way he kept looking out the window at Hell’s Paradise Island as though the night itself had become a road leading to childhood’s first miracle.
The boy was practically vibrating. If anticipation had produced sound, the entire car would have been humming like an overworked holy artifact.
Naturally, his women showed mercy.
Which was to say, none whatsoever.
Maddie noticed first and then weaponized it with the bright moral corruption. She leaned back against the seat, arms folded beneath her chest, eyes glittering with wicked delight.
"Oh my God," she said, her voice already trembling with laughter, "look at him. He looks like a little boy about to receive his first Christmas gift."
Phei turned toward her slowly. "I do not."
"You absolutely do," Sierra chimed in from the other side, her elegance ruined by the smile she was failing to hide. "A very beautiful little boy, yes, but still. First Christmas gift energy."
"I am sitting calmly."
"You are glowing," Valentina said.
"I am not glowing."
"You’re leaking excitement," Maddie corrected. "It’s everywhere. The leather is probably absorbing it."
Before Phei could defend himself properly, Maddie leaned across the seat and pinched his cheek with criminal affection, her smile bright enough to qualify as harassment under several emotional jurisdictions.
"Look at him," she said, laughing. "He’s genuinely excited; this is so adorable."
Phei caught her wrist with one hand and glared at her with solemn outrage; he was like the Young Dragon whose face had just been handled like public property. "Touching the Young Master’s face requires an appointment."
Maddie’s smile widened. "I’m one of your women. I have permanent access."
"That is not how appointments work."
"That is exactly how privilege works."
"She has a point," Delilah said, watching the exchange with delight.
"No, she does not," Phei replied.
Maddie used her captured wrist as an excuse to lean closer anyway, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before withdrawing with triumph. "There. Paid in advance."
Phei touched the kissed his lips with a smile but added a fake narrowed eye, betrayed and pleased at the same time; a humiliating emotional combination and therefore perfect for everyone else’s entertainment. He did not, however, let go of her wrist. Instead, he turned it gently in his grip, pressed his own slow kiss to the inside of it, right over the pulse, and watched with great satisfaction as Maddie’s clever mouth forgot, for one entire second, how to assemble a sentence.
"Paid back," he murmured. "With interest."
The car made a delighted noise.
Maddie snatched her hand away and sat on it like evidence, the tips of her ears betraying her. "That is cheating."
"You taught me."
Victoria looked him over once and smiled with deep, indulgent amusement that made even mockery sound like wine being poured into crystal. "It is rather adorable."
Phei frowned. "You are all exaggerating."
"No," Maddie said, recovering, now fully delighted. "This is bigger than Christmas. This is like watching Phei about to lose his virginity."
The car went silent for the smallest possible fraction of a second before several women burst into laughter.
Phei blinked. "What?"
Sierra leaned forward, eyes bright with treacherous sweetness. "You are about to lose your virginity, My Love."
Phei stared at her.
Sierra smiled. "Your car virginity."
That did it.
The laughter rose again, warmer and crueler, filling the limousine with the merry sound of beautiful women gathering around one man’s dignity and dividing it among themselves like spoils after war.
Phei looked from one face to another, increasingly betrayed by the fact that not a single woman in the vehicle had chosen justice.
"That makes no sense," he said.
"It makes perfect sense," Delilah replied immediately. "Car virginity. First time buying your own car. Very emotional. Very sacred. Very funny for us."
Sierra, who had somehow made cruelty look gentle, slid closer and rested her chin on his shoulder, whispering directly beside his ear, "Car virginity."
Phei turned his head slowly, their faces now close enough that irritation had to fight beauty at an unfair distance. "You are too beautiful to be saying something this stupid."
Sierra smiled. "And yet here we are."
"That is not a defense."
"It is when I say it cutely."
Phei opened his mouth, then closed it, because unfortunately she was correct and everyone present knew it. The injustice of beauty remained one of the oldest unsolved problems, and naturally it had chosen his car ride to continue its oppressive campaign.
So he retaliated the only way left to a cornered dragon. He turned his head the last inch, caught Sierra’s mouth mid-syllable, and kissed her properly — slow, unhurried, thorough enough that whatever stupid thing she had been about to add evaporated somewhere between her lips and her dignity.
When he pulled back, Sierra blinked at him, pupils blown wide, the smug little tilt entirely gone from her face.
"Still going to call it car virginity?" he asked mildly.
Sierra opened her mouth.
Nothing came out.
"Thought so," Phei said, and patted her cheek with insulting fondness.
"That," Sierra managed at last, voice gone soft and traitorous, "was an abuse of executive power."
"Appeal denied."
"It is not sacred if you are laughing," he muttered to the car at large.
"Many sacred things are funny," Maddie said, having relocated her composure. "Have you seen weddings?"
Elena, sitting with her usual soft, cherubic expression and the invisible mind of a dynasty’s war council, had already raised her phone. "For the archive."
Phei narrowed his eyes. "Are you recording me?"
"History must be preserved."
"This is not history."
"You are losing your car virginity," Sierra said solemnly after she recovered enough to betray him again, still resting against him as though betrayal became sweeter with physical affection. "This is important cultural material."
Phei looked toward the ceiling of the limousine as though seeking divine intervention, then remembered the divine had extremely unreliable customer service and probably subscribed to the girls’ side out of spite. "I thank the gods David is not here."
Patricia smiled faintly. "Why?"
"Because he would stream this."
Everyone laughed again because that was not even an exaggeration. David would absolutely have streamed it, titled it something intolerable like Young Dragon’s First Time, added dramatic zooms, and somehow made the entire internet worse in under three minutes.
Small mercies existed, then. Tiny ones.
’Little starving things trembling in corners, but still mercies.’
Patricia turned toward the Goddess with a fond smile. "It is good to see him like this."
The Goddess, seated close enough to Phei that her presence remained a soft, radiant danger at his side, looked at him with a warmth that made the teasing gentler without removing its teeth. "It is. We were beginning to worry he had grown too quickly and missed the simple things boys his age are supposed to enjoy."
Patricia’s eyes gleamed. "Cars. Games. Showing off. Pretending not to be nervous while being painfully nervous."
"Exactly," the Goddess said. "It is reassuring. Our Young Dragon still has some normal young blood in him."
Phei gave both women a wounded look. "I am right here."
"We know," Patricia said. "That is why we are saying it loudly."
The Goddess smiled. "You have spent the last few weeks rearranging family hierarchies, exposing global powers, acquiring impossible wealth and collecting women like fate has a quota to meet. Forgive us for being relieved that a car can still make you this happy."
