Chapter 561: Chapter 353: Opening the Door
"Guide, where is the location of the photo you just sent me?"
Zhao Qingge arrived in Western Sichuan yesterday afternoon by plane. After landing, she stayed at a nearby hotel for the night and this morning she was the first to arrive at Moshi Park, where she checked into the hotel reserved by Li Peifeng.
After that, she didn’t stay in her room; instead, she spent the entire morning wandering around the park, taking a few landscape photos and sending them to Li Peifeng via WeChat. Li, upon seeing them, felt that the locations in Zhao Qingge’s photos were ideal for shooting locations, hence his inquiry.
Of course, this was just a surface-level excuse; in reality, Li Peifeng primarily wanted to discuss the topic of marriage with her.
Li Peifeng learned from Xu Manning that Zhao Qingge opposed getting registered step by step, but he needed her to confirm it personally to understand her true stance...
"Northwest direction, quite far."
After opening the door for him, Zhao Qingge turned and sat in front of her laptop, casually responding while focusing on the document displayed on the screen, which was the storyboard she needed to shoot the next day.
"Hmm, after eating, you can take me to have a look."
"Okay."
Perhaps "not seeing each other for a year" had made their relationship somewhat unfamiliar, making Li Peifeng hesitant to jump straight to the main topic.
It might also be that Zhao Qingge was disappointed with Li Peifeng’s continuing bad behavior, which only got worse, so she didn’t feel like saying anything to him, leaving them both in a stilted silence after exchanging just two sentences...
"Here, this is for you."
Fortunately, Li Peifeng came prepared. He pulled out a small medicine bottle containing the [Water Charm Youth Pill] from his pocket and handed it to Zhao Qingge, breaking the awkward silence.
"What is this?"
"The New Year’s gift I mentioned to you earlier."
Zhao Qingge opened the bottle cap and upon seeing the pills inside, she understood: "Is it the same as before?"
"Pretty much, once a day, take two at a time."
Zhao Qingge poured out two pills, picked up the water on the table, swallowed them, and then closed her eyes slightly to feel the effects of the medicine. Upon reopening her eyes, her expression was somewhat subtle: "This time, from which expert did you acquire this medicine?"
"Lage Glacier!"
Li Peifeng replied solemnly: "A few days ago, while shooting at Lage Glacier in the Tibetan Region, on the last day, after the shoot was done, I returned to the hotel to rest. Who would have thought, as I was dreaming, I suddenly found myself in a cave dwelling, supposedly amidst the surrounding mountains of the glacier. There was a hermit in front of me, named Mao Nv. She was nine feet tall, covered in fur, claiming to have been a palace woman of Qin Shi Huang. When Qin fell, she went into exile in the mountains to seek refuge and met the Taoist Gu Chun, who taught her to eat pine needles, making her free from hunger and cold and enabling her to fly lightly. Mao Nv said that our meeting was fated, gifting me 108 pills. When I woke up, the pills were right beside my pillow..."
Zhao Qingge sighed lightly: "Lying without a draft, if you don’t want to say, just shut up!"
The atmosphere was no longer awkward, and after some hesitation, Li Peifeng chose to change the topic and get down to business: "What do you think about my previous proposal?"
Unexpectedly, Zhao Qingge didn’t hesitate much: "It’s fine, once you graduate, we can consider marriage."
"You agreed?!"
Zhao Qingge nodded slightly, but Li Peifeng understood what she truly meant. In short, it was easy to get a marriage certificate but hard to get a divorce.
Old Zhao was willing to marry him, but once they got the red booklet, if Li Peifeng ever brought up divorce to arrange matters with the other three, Zhao Qingge would absolutely not agree!
"You mean..."
"If you want a divorce with me, it would be a real one."
Zhao Qingge glanced at him: "After that, whoever you want to finalize things with is your business, not mine."
Li Peifeng responded with an "mmhmm" and thought to himself that a perfect solution didn’t exist; compromises had to be made.
"So what do you think?"
Li Peifeng stayed silent for a bit before softly saying: "Letting go of possessiveness at least spares one from many trivial woes and small pains, allowing one to gain a bit more grace."
Zhao Qingge smiled gently: "Get out."
"Okay."
Li Peifeng hesitated for half a moment before getting up and leaving.
After a moment of silence, Zhao Qingge took out her phone and sent a message to Li Peifeng via WeChat: "Letting go of possessiveness, gaining more grace, you might want to use these words to comfort yourself."
...
During lunch, Li Peifeng checked the weather forecast again, predicting that the weather for the next two days would be suitable for filming, which reassured him. After the meal, he led everyone for an on-site survey inside the park.
The Moshi Park scenic area was originally known as the Bamei Stone Forest, with an elevation of 3,500 meters. It boasts many natural landscapes inside, including grasslands, wetlands, stone forests, flower seas, running water, among others.
The Milankovich stone forest landscape is particularly breathtaking, due to its unique shape which changes colors with seasons. This phenomenon occurs because the stone forest contains calcium salts, which change the color from light grey or light blue in dry seasons to ashen black in humid seasons due to atmospheric humidity.
Within the park, black mountain ranges stretch endlessly, with walls as if carved by knives and shapes as thin as sheets. The mountains stand tall and steep, their changing forms and imposing grandeur evoke an aura of desolation, lifelessness, and divine craftsmanship; they stand towering and high, intimidating from afar, as though arriving at an alien world.
Upon entering the stone forest for a closer look, one can see blue skies, white clouds, rolling snow-capped mountains, and yaks leisurely grazing on the grasslands. Upon entering the deep valleys of the stone forest, one will encounter dense and stark white bones, all remnants of the plateau’s animals.
"Wow~ This stone forest looks a bit like cement, crumbling."
