Chapter 764: Chapter 764: Came to Apologize
"Melody, your father and I think we should go back first to see him. You... shouldn’t join us just yet. You just got back from the hospital, and I’m worried it might upset the child," said Stella.
"I’ll go with you," Melody Thorne raised her head. "He’s my grandfather, and I want to see him off on his last journey. Grandpa was always good to me and was looking for me before. I want to say goodbye to him."
"Well..." Stella looked towards Jared Quinn, silently seeking his opinion.
"We’ll set out early tomorrow," Jared Quinn spoke up. "Get some rest tonight, and I’ll arrange a private plane."
Stella and Howard Seymour exchanged a glance. "Alright then."
"Melody Thorne, I need to talk to you," Stella Seymour looked at her and naturally walked outside to the hall.
"I’ll be right back," Melody Thorne followed her out.
Outside was a garden set up by the butler and the servants. Stella Seymour stood there, appearing much more mature over the past few days.
"What’s the matter?" Melody Thorne’s gaze was cold.
Stella Seymour turned around. "It’s nothing really, I just wanted to apologize. Previously at the Seymour Family, I was too jealous. I shouldn’t have drugged you. I thought you were like the others, willing to do anything to compete for the Seymour family heir, so I decided to strike first."
Melody Thorne raised her beautiful eyebrows subtly, her eyes remaining cold as ever. "You should be grateful you didn’t succeed back then. Otherwise, you would have ended up like my child. Neither of you would have survived!"
Stella Seymour chuckled lightly. "Yes, I truly should be thankful I didn’t succeed. Your methods are no weaker than mine. I’ve managed to temporarily control Hans Montrose’s condition, so I’ll probably be staying here often. So, Melody Thorne, I won’t go against you anymore. Can you forgive me?"
"Did Hans Montrose persuade you to apologize to me?" Melody Thorne guessed about seventy to eighty percent of it.
It wasn’t in Stella Seymour’s character to apologize to her.
"He did mention it, but I won’t be swayed by others. It’s also something I wanted to do."
Melody Thorne looked at Stella Seymour with a bit more admiration. "You like Hans Montrose? So you’re planning to stay here and take care of him?"
The Seymour family has always been straightforward, and Stella Seymour is the same. Admitting she likes a man is not something shameful in her eyes. "He’s someone I almost married. I’m not like those bashful women. Since I’ve set my sights on him, I’ll definitely take care of him when he’s in trouble."
"Alright, after we return from Grandfather, you should take good care of him. Hans Montrose is not like those sons from prestigious families. Everything he has, he earned himself. If there is any chance between you two, I will give you my blessings," Melody Thorne said calmly.
"I will certainly earn your blessing," Stella Seymour said confidently.
The two women exchanged a smile.
In the morning, a private plane flew to Crestfall.
The old man had already been transferred back to the Seymour Family from the hospital. He knew his time was coming to an end. He could no longer watch over the Seymour family as it thrived across generations. Therefore, he didn’t want to die in the hospital. If he had to die, he wanted to die in the Seymour Family, which he had protected for so long.
"Sir, madam, miss, sir-in-law," a servant beside them spoke respectfully, opening the door to let the group in.
"Grandfather," Melody Thorne, seeing the elderly Seymour lying on the sickbed, couldn’t help but feel her eyes turn red, and even her voice couldn’t help but tremble with distress.
