Chapter 691: Chapter 691: Revealing the Truth

Sila’s gaze fell on Melody Thorne, her eyes filled with guilt and pain, wishing she could give this daughter her entire heart. How could she not have realized that her daughter actually resembled her so much?

A few days ago, she was right in front of her, yet she failed to recognize her. Was she blind?

"What’s wrong, Sila? Why is she crying?"

"I don’t know. Her designed brand has always been famous abroad, but she’s never chosen a spokesperson. Maybe she’s excited."

"Is it really that exciting to find a spokesperson?"

"You don’t understand. A designer’s brand is like her child. Of course, she’d be excited."

Sila composed herself and looked out towards the audience. "Before announcing the spokesperson, I want to share a story. Twenty years ago, just like every woman here, I met a man I loved, got married, and was ready to have children. Upon first meeting my husband, I decided to marry him.

But he was always bearing the burden of his family’s legacy, living under a prophecy of potential death. At that time, I was pregnant. Even though we knew the outcome, we never thought of giving up the child.

When she was born, we thought that the so-called prophecy had disappeared, but my husband still died when my daughter was just a month old. I entrusted my daughter to others, while I, severely injured, was saved by someone else,

Throughout these years, I’ve built my own brand, making it renowned overseas, just like nurturing a daughter. You might be aware my design style embodies a blend of youthful innocence and mature sophistication. I hoped that one day, when my daughter grew up, someone would protect her.

For the past twenty years, I’ve always known where my daughter was, but only now have I mustered the courage to see her."

"Sila has a daughter?".

"We’ve never heard of her being married. How could she have a daughter?".

"I don’t know, perhaps she’ll explain it to us later today?".

Melody Thorne glanced past Sila on stage, looking towards Howard Seymour, who was sitting in a wheelchair behind her. He nodded silently, confirming the truth for her.

"Here, I want to say sorry to my daughter, whom I’ve loved and thought of protecting but lacked the ability to. I haven’t been a competent mother. After my husband’s death, I chose the cowardly path of avoidance. Now, he’s not dead; he’s right behind me. So, my daughter, will you forgive me?".

Sila looked unreservedly at Melody Thorne. "Forgive me for not having the ability to raise you when I left you with the Thorne Family. Forgive me for my years of weakness, only now seeking you out. Forgive my blindness, mistaking someone else for you."

Sila was in tears, waiting for Melody Thorne to respond.

"Decide for yourself?" Jared Quinn released her hand, looking at her with indulgent eyes.

Melody Thorne hesitated for a while. When Howard Seymour appeared, she already had a premonition, never expecting it to be true. The designer she’d admired since her past life turned out to be her mother.

She stood up and walked onto the stage under the envious gazes of the audience, saying nothing, gently embracing the tear-stricken Sila, softly whispering in her ear, "Mom."

This word completely broke Sila’s emotions, and she tightly embraced her daughter.

"Miss Thorne, if she’s your daughter, how do you view the incidents from a few days ago?"
