Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Did I Hit You?
"Of course not," Melody Thorne chuckled softly. "With Sheryl Lancaster’s acting skills and all her years of experience, she should know what professional conduct means. There’s no need for me to question it."
As she spoke, Melody Thorne took a few pictures of Kiki Sutton’s injured appearance and sent them to Jean Gage. "It’s quite a rare occurrence to knock someone out while acting in a scene. I should share it for everyone to see. I’m sure many who’ve worked with Goddess Lancaster feel the same."
According to what she knew, Sheryl Lancaster had quite a temper, backed by The Lancaster Family. She would often throw fits at the young actors cooperating with her and set traps. Quite a few have been hit by her before.
"Melody Thorne!" Sheryl Lancaster’s expression changed instantly. If such a thing got out and resonated with the public, her image would be affected. "Don’t you dare send it out!"
Sheryl Lancaster reached out to grab Melody Thorne’s phone, and the fans at the door started to get restless, pushing and shoving each other as the scene spun out of control.
Melody Thorne stepped back to avoid Sheryl Lancaster lunging at her, then stretched out her right foot to trip her up.
"Bang!" Sheryl Lancaster crashed directly into the table. Melody Thorne pretended to snap out of a daze, looking at Sheryl Lancaster with blood dripping from her forehead. She helped her up, "You could have just said you didn’t want it sent. Seeing you always care about your image as a demure actress, how could you just resort to violence? Your fans are outside, and if it were someone else watching, who knows, your innocent image might be ruined."
Sheryl Lancaster’s mind went blank. The impact almost made her pass out. With a buzzing in her ears, hearing Melody Thorne’s words made her nearly spit blood in frustration.
"Melody Thorne!" Sheryl Lancaster screamed in distress, blood from her forehead streaming down across her eyes, looking somewhat terrifying. She turned and tried to strangle Melody Thorne.
"Ah!" Melody Thorne screamed and squatted down, just as Kiki Sutton kicked out with her foot.
After kicking, her foot promptly withdrew back under the covers, as no one could see with Sheryl Lancaster’s body blocking the view.
Sheryl Lancaster fell to the ground on her back, nearly losing consciousness.
"What’s going on!" a furious shout came from outside the ward.
Kenneth Young walked in with a grim face, and the hospital security held back the fans outside.
"Mr. Young..." Sheryl Lancaster got up from the floor, not even having time to clearly see where Kenneth Young was before rushing over.
Kenneth Young grabbed her with a displeased face, shouting without asking, "Kiki, Sheryl Lancaster getting too into her role and injuring you is an inevitable part of filming. She even came to see you afterward. How could you let her end up like this! I even gave you a role to play."
Kiki Sutton’s face turned pale as she opened her eyes, but Melody Thorne stood in front of the hospital bed, blocking her. "Mr. Young, Kiki didn’t say a word when she woke up. Just now, because of Sheryl Lancaster’s antics, she fainted again. You can’t blame her for that."
"Who are you?"
Kiki Sutton clutched Melody Thorne’s clothes from behind, signaling her to leave. After all, Melody Thorne hadn’t debuted yet, and offending a big shot and injuring a popular star wouldn’t be beneficial for her.
"Mr. Young, it’s her, it’s this woman who laid hands on me. The injury on my forehead is her doing!" Sheryl Lancaster seized the opportunity to cry out.
"I hit you?" Melody Thorne raised an eyebrow indifferently. "Everyone here saw it. You’re the esteemed demure actress who tried to lay hands on me. I just dodged, and you hit the table on your own. What does that have to do with me?"
