Chapter 122: Chapter 122: Are You Hurt?
"Okay, okay, no need." Dr. Mo silently grumbled, you should try being gentle.
"This is the last time I’ll stitch you up. The edges are already a bit inflamed. If this happens again before the wound heals, there’s nothing more I can do."
Because Dr. Mo didn’t use anesthesia, Jared Quinn’s brow furrowed with suppressed veins bulging prominently.
Just like the man’s heart—ruthless, with not a trace of warmth.
"Bring out the surveillance footage later."
Dr. Mo said, "...Weren’t we not going to check it?"
Jared Quinn’s dangerous gaze swept over, and Dr. Mo immediately fell silent.
Melody Thorne stormed out of the corridor, red with anger. He never sought her opinion before kissing her.
Explode, sir! Explode!!
Melody Thorne retrieved the item Caleb had wanted to give her from the restroom she had just exited. There wasn’t time to look at it before, but now she had a moment.
This guy was too reckless. If she hadn’t spotted Ivy earlier and texted him while walking, and if Mrs. Quinn hadn’t been present, it might have been exposed.
After reading the content on the two sheets of paper, she realized he had given her the Thorne Group’s stock report and corporate operation documents from two years ago, before the collaboration with Sutton Corporation and The Adler Family.
So, did they already have a thorough understanding of the Thorne Group before the collaboration?
Melody Thorne put it away. It’s normal for companies to understand each other before cooperating, but if even the internal details were known, it only means there was a mole inside.
And that’s the biggest taboo in partnerships.
When she returned to Mr. Quinn’s hospital room, he was already asleep. She lay down on a small bed beside him.
...
At the entrance of Kiki Sutton’s rented apartment, Melody Thorne knocked several times but got no answer. Did she go to shoot a film?
Melody Thorne dialed Kiki’s number, and after a while, it was answered.
"Melody," Kiki deliberately lowered her voice.
"I’m outside your place, did you go to the set?"
"Yes, I’m filming. I’ll call you back after I’m done,"
"I..."
"Miss Sutton, bear with it, this painkiller shot will still hurt," a nurse’s voice was heard nearby.
"You’re injured?"
"No," Kiki quickly replied, covering the phone with her hand, "I’m filming a hospital scene, have to go now."
The phone beeped, and Melody Thorne put it away without thinking much.
Aethelburg Academy.
Melody Thorne had just reached the outside of the theater classroom when several eerie gazes immediately turned to her.
They were all women who liked to hang around Ivy, and their looks at her were extremely unfriendly.
But Ivy was not present at the school.
Melody Thorne walked over, sat at her seat, and looked at the stage practice script that had just been distributed.
The gazes behind her kept staring at her intently, but because Ivy wasn’t there, none dared to make a move.
Melody Thorne glanced back, then wrote a small note and placed it on one of the girl’s desks before leaving.
She then returned to the villa.
"Timmy!" Melody Thorne went in, getting ready to enter Timmy’s bedroom.
"Hurry up, hurry up!" Timmy’s urging voice came from the bedroom.
"Young master, don’t rush, there’s nothing to worry about with taking a bath."
