Chapter 942: Chapter 545: The March of War (2)
Some things are always two-sided.
Shen Sui thought this made a lot of sense, so he no longer opposed Vivian’s decision.
Among the remaining names on the list, of course, included Xinyuan Tanchun, and Isabella still hoped to take this opportunity to descend into the real world in person.
"Oh, by the way." Vivian suddenly thought of something, winked at Shen Sui, and said, "Do you need to bring Tan Song over as well?"
"Tan Song...?"
"His Soul Card is Zhou’Er’s apprentice. Don’t you want to know about Zhou’Er’s current situation?"
Zhou’Er...
"Didn’t you two fight back then?"
"You don’t know someone until you fight them," Vivian said.
As she spoke, she paused her work, as if recalling some bad memory, then pouted and said, "But if possible, I really hope you two don’t meet again."
"Huh? Why?" Shen Sui felt that Ye Zhou’Er shouldn’t have any problems... although a bit clingy.
"You’ll find out soon enough." Vivian pouted, shivered, and decided not to recall the scene she had witnessed.
Seeing Vivian’s reaction, Shen Sui became even more puzzled.
What on earth did Vivian encounter in the cultivation world to show such an expression?
"There’s no problem with inviting him," Shen Sui thought for a moment, then said, "But this test should have a theme, right? The first round was purely to test stability, and it’s fine to turn it into a matchmaking event, but this time it’s all Soul Cards with extraordinary powers. Without any combat, how are you going to test the stability of the buffer zone?"
But if it turns into some sort of battle royale comparing different characters’ combat strengths, it feels a bit strange.
"I’ve created a puppet and thrown it in as the enemy," Vivian said. "This way, the strength can be adjusted at will, and it better achieves the goal," Vivian said. "But when the Soul Cards fight, you can’t just sit idle either. You still have to test the stability of the duels."
"The puppet needs a deck, right? Then use the special victory deck from last time. I just happen to have some cards to strengthen this deck," Shen Sui thought for a moment and said.
"Of course," Vivian said with a bright smile.
Her smile was so radiant that Shen Sui felt that this Twilight Saintess perhaps had some schemes again.
But what bad intentions could Vivian possibly have? She was merely trying to simulate the potential issues that might arise in reality during the test.
For instance, in reality, would randomly selected Life Card Masters truly maintain internal unity when facing invaders?
The conflicts of interest between various factions, or even personal thoughts, might lead Life Card Masters to betray teammates or even side with the enemy.
Since it’s a test, all possibilities must be considered.
Before they knew it, it was already evening, and Qishala had prepared a sumptuous dinner for the family.
Martina returned from her business trip to World No. 8, and Shen Sui and his family were once again reunited.
On the table, the largest dishes were seafood that Martina had brought back from World No. 8... or rather, sea beasts might be a more fitting description.
"Hmm? Where’s Mitole?" Shen Sui did not see Mitole’s figure, and once again, Qishala was the only maid left in the entire house.
Qishala sighed. After a series of tests, she had become convinced that Mitole really had no potential as a service maid, so she gave up on the idea of keeping Mitole in the home.
Fortunately, in Qishala’s planning, not all of Shen Sui’s maids were service maids; there was also a dedicated combat division.
If there were matters that required the master to take action personally, it would be the failure of a maid’s duty, thus the combat maids for handling external missions came into being.
From the previous journey to the Parasite Beast World, it was evident that Mitole had great potential as a combat maid. Therefore, after Mitole sacrificed a toaster, Qishala decisively sent Mitole to carry out external duties.
"External duties..." Shen Sui scratched his cheek. "Do we have that many external missions that require Mitole?"
"Plenty," Qishala said seriously. "Even more than you can imagine."
She then proceeded to explain to Shen Sui the matters in different worlds that required handling.
Dawn Continent, for one, is a place where conflict is brewing as Alice became the Daylight Saintess, sparking a war between the churches. With all three factions under Alice’s control, this three-way war strangely ended up affecting the churches of other gods. The rampant battles have led to Anna’s limited access to high-end forces. If Mitole were deployed there, it could undoubtedly accelerate the progress of the war.
However, compared to the Dragon Princess World where Mitole is currently stationed, the situation in Dawn Continent is actually quite favorable. The invading Broken Boundary Creatures have already occupied the wilderness between two districts. If it weren’t for Alice’s previous sweep of the place, making it hard for the Broken Boundary Creatures to find a large group of congregated Dragon Beasts, it would have been tough to fend off the invaders with a stable food supply.
Mitole, returning once again to the Dragon Princess World, appeared with a whole new image.
Once a destroyer of this world, she now emerged as a savior.
Mitole’s arrival greatly relieved the pressure on Delia and her group.
But dealing only with the symptoms isn’t enough. Without cutting off the source of the Broken Boundary Creatures, the Dragon Princess World would face perpetual unrest.
"The buffer zone’s interception network is now capable of operating independently," Vivian said after listening. "We could send Antipus to take a look."
Shen Sui agreed that there shouldn’t be any issues with letting Antipus handle the Broken Boundary Creatures.
However, it’s not just these two worlds that are in chaos. The Magical Girl World and the Spiritual World have also experienced events of invasions by Broken Boundary Creatures recently.
The latter is relatively better off. Thanks to Alice’s years of digging, many great powers within the Spiritual Network have been released. For these entities that can’t truly invade physical reality, the Boundary Breakers with primarily parasitic and infectious abilities have had no success.
But the Magical Girl World faced much heavier blow, being in such a frenzy because of the Broken Realm World’s invasion that it forced traditional magical girls and those with dragon blood, the mixed-blood magical girls, to reconcile and unite against the intruding Broken Boundary Creatures.
Not only did the magical girls unite, the demons also joined the resistance, for if this world perished, they too would be doomed.
If the chaos happening in the worlds connected to Shen Sui and Alice was due to the invasion by the Broken Boundary Creatures, then the chaos in some other worlds, primarily those of science fiction, had ties to the real world.
Instigated by some ambitious Life Card Masters with influence, these worlds had already descended into warfare.
Warfare shattered the original order of these worlds.
This supposedly had little to do with Shen Sui, but the disrupted order had made Shen Sui’s plans to investigate the whereabouts of the Enterprise difficult to proceed.
While facing the war-torn Soul Card World, the majority of Life Card Masters in the real world seemed overly optimistic. In their eyes, the opportunity to acquire a large number of Life Cards seemed just around the corner.
However, war is ultimately a disaster where only a few profit.
Before long, lamentations will likely appear all over the internet, as war with its absolute cruelty will take away the Soul Cards of those gloating at others’ misfortunes.
Nevertheless, Shen Sui no longer had time to worry about others’ feelings.
Because, Alice, who was forming a fleet to head for Shen Gang, encountered a minor problem:
The Azure Federation was embroiled in a civil war.
And Red Maple Stronghold was the first to announce its refusal to accept the election results.
Damn it, how did a civil war suddenly break out?
