"Name?" she asked, her tone all business.

Kent raised an eyebrow. "My name is Kent."

"Kent what?" She asked again

"Just Kent."

The Enforcer scowled. "Traveler or resident?"

"Traveler."

Her gaze flicked to Nima, then to the suitcase, and then back to him. "Purpose of visit?"

Nima says, "vacation."

Kent says, "work."

She gets suspicious of them. Both of you are saying different reasons. I need you to come with me. Your bird.. is it an evolved beast? Do you have a permit or licence to own a beast?

Kent sighed. "Vacation and work Both. I have a Watcher business then we will have a vacation." He flashed his trainee badge.

The Enforcer studied it for a moment, then narrowed her eyes. "Hmph." Looks legit. I am also a Watcher member. Do you know what happened on the train? How did a train cart disappear?

Meanwhile, some black coat wearing guy and two strong cultivators were talking with Louis. She was a little upset. They exchanged her as soon as she came out of the train.

"Princess you can’t just travel as you wish. There is a security protocol you must OBEY. It’s a decision made by your father."

Another person joined the conversation, you told us you were going to the bathroom. We waited for you outside the public bathroom for hours. Later with Nexus help we checked the entire city’s CCTV and found out you took a train.

I just wanted to have some freedom. You guys always follow me. I don’t like that. Did you inform my father about anything?

Yes princess, he is very upset. He told us to take you home. He will send a female bodyguard to be with you 24/7. He also said he will visit you soon.

She is very upset. She will be scolded by her father, that’s a guarantee. She thinks "I need to go back with them. If I don’t go, my father will know about Kent. I don’t know how he will react. I better be safe than sorry."

Alright I will go with go. Just give me a minute. I need to say goodbye to someone. You all must stay here.

Kent, she yelled. I need to go back to the metro city. Inform me, Once you are done with your vacation and come back to metro city.

Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.

Nima didn’t let Kent reply to her. She says my brother is a busy man. Don’t disturb him. Once we go back he needs to do a lot of work. "He doesn’t have time to play with you. We are not rich like you. We have to work and earn money."

Alright. You don’t need to inform me, Louis says. I will find out by myself. Bye Kent. I will see you soon.

After she left. The law enforcement woman says. You haven’t answered my question. Do you know what happened on the train?

Kent says, it’s a long story. I will tell you I’m short. This is what happened…..

She says, We receive reports about a strange train many times. It appears all over the country. Whenever the ghost train comes, some people always go missing. We are still figuring out the mystery.

I need to report the train incident to my higher ups. I will report about your hard work too. You have done a great job. You kept everyone safe from the ghost train.

By the way, There was an incident at the coastal docks earlier today. Some strange energy fluctuations. I just saw your trainee mission is to investigate a nearby area, I suggest you stay alert."

The Enforcer gave them one last look before striding off into the crowd.

Kent’s expression sharpened. An incident? Already?

Nima tugged on Kent’s sleeve. "That was intense. Do you think it’s related to your mission?"

I don’t know, Kent replied, "Let’s have breakfast first then find a good hotel."

That’s a great idea. I am very hungry. I want something with meat. Where do we eat?

Kent was about to answer when a deep boom echoed through the city.

The ground trembled beneath their feet. The sky flickered with unnatural light.

And somewhere, in the direction of the sea, something massive roared.

Azure City fell silent for just a moment. The deep boom that echoed across the coastline wasn’t just sound—it was something more.

A wave of spiritual pressure rolled through the streets, pressing down on every living being like the weight of the ocean itself.

Kent immediately took a defensive stance, dropping Nima’s cursed pink suitcase without a second thought. His senses sharpened.

*That wasn’t just a sound. It was a warning.*

The air crackled with residual energy, an eerie blue light dancing across the sky like lightning trapped within invisible waves. From the direction of the sea, another distant roar rang out, distorted, almost otherworldly.

The people of Azure City reacted in different ways. Experienced cultivators stopped in their tracks, eyes narrowing in caution, while ordinary civilians gasped and hurried for shelter. Some merchants frantically packed their stalls, as if they knew something dangerous had arrived.

"Kent," Nima whispered, eyes wide, "what the hell was that?"

Kent’s mind raced through possibilities. A sea beast? A failed summoning ritual? A spatial rift? Hundreds of things come into his mind. What could be the reason for this loud roar?

The Watcher’s mission report had only mentioned "evolution cause," but this was far beyond a simple disturbance.

Before he could answer, a squad of armored cultivators rushed down the main street. They wore the same navy-blue uniforms as the Enforcer from earlier, their insignias marked with golden waves. Azure Guard.

"Everyone, clear the streets!" one of them barked. "Return to your homes immediately! This is an emergency!"

More murmurs broke out among the crowd. People shuffled backward, torn between curiosity and fear.

Kent grabbed Nima’s wrist. "Come on, we need to move."

"But the breakfast—"

"Later!" Kent says in a strong voice.

He pulled her into the nearest alley just as another explosion rocked the city. This time, the sound came from the harbor. Flames lit up the evening sky, a column of smoke rising where the docks should have been.

The force of the blast sent a ripple through the ground. Windows shattered. The cries of panicked civilians filled the air.

Kent’s heart pounded. Whatever was happening, it was escalating very fast.

Kent didn’t stop moving until they reached a rooftop overlooking the harbor. From here, he had a full view of the chaos below.

The docks were in ruins. Several ships had been torn apart as if something massive had risen from beneath the waves. The water churned unnaturally, glowing faintly with the same eerie blue light that had flickered through the sky earlier.

And then Kent saw it.

A form loomed beneath the surface, too large to be anything natural. Its outline rippled, shifting like a mirage. Dozens of eyes glowed beneath the waves, unblinking, inhuman.

A beast.

No—not just a beast. A being.

Kent clenched his fists. He could feel the remnants of his spiritual energy responding to whatever this thing was.

Then, as if sensing his gaze, the creature moved.

A single appendage—a thick, dark tendril—rose from the water, slick with an unnatural sheen. It lashed out, crashing down onto the harbor with devastating force. Stone shattered like glass. Buildings crumbled into dust.

"That’s not normal," Nima muttered.

Kent exhaled slowly. "No kidding."

They needed more information. This thing wasn’t attacking randomly—it was searching for something. But what?

A voice interrupted his thoughts. "You’re a Watcher trainee, What are you doing standing here?"

Kent turned sharply. The female Enforcer from earlier had landed on the rooftop beside him, her uniform slightly singed, her eyes blazing with urgency.

"You’re here on assignment, right? To become an official member of Watcher. Our first first code is to protect the people. Stop standing like a civilian. Help us contain that thing before it levels the entire city!"

Kent didn’t hesitate. He cracked his knuckles, rolling his shoulders. Finally, A Chance to test my new flame.

Nima, you and Auri should stay here. Summon Raka and Lumo if something unexpected happens. Look after our luggage. No matter what happens, you must trust me. I will be back in a minute or two.

Ohh! I almost forgot, Kent gives her his smartphone. Here take it Nima. "I don’t want to break my mobile in the action. My mobile isn’t even waterproof."

"Promise me you won’t put yourself in danger like last time."

Alright Kent, I will listen to you for now. Don’t make me wait for a long time. Make sure you come back as soon as possible. I am very hungry.

I will take you to a good restaurant for breakfast. He smirked, then asked the police lady. "What’s the plan?"

The enforcement lady says, first we will move the civilians as far as possible. Help me with that. Later we will do what the situation demands. Tell your sister to move to a different place. It’s very dangerous here.

Don’t worry, my sister knows what to do. She may look young but she is very intelligent. Let’s go down first.
