Meanwhile, Auri is learning many things from TV about humans. However, Nima treated him like an underling—a fact he deeply resented but was powerless to change. Running away was always an option, but no... he had a dream. A grand dream.

^~_~^ He would conquer Nima ^~_~^

In his mind’s eye, he saw it:

Auri sat atop a golden throne, wings spread wide, basking in his newfound supremacy. Nima—yes, the mighty Nima—was serving him juice, bowing before his greatness. Lumo fanned him like a loyal attendant. Surrounding him were mountains of that precious "money thing."

And there was Kent, eyes filled with admiration.

"You did the impossible, Auri," Kent praised, shaking his head in disbelief. "I could never conquer Nima, but you—YOU tamed her. A feat even I could not achieve."

SLAM!

His beautiful fantasy shattered as Nima stormed into the room, scowling.

"A little girl can’t even sleep nowadays! The world really has changed." Her eyes landed on Auri, perched comfortably and fixated on the TV.

"Hey, Auri, what are you watching?"

"Chirp! Chirp!" (I’m learning how to get that money thing for Kent!)

Nima rolled her eyes. "Don’t get obsessed with money like Kent. If you’re weak, you won’t even be able to protect it. You need strength first!" She smirked. "In fact, I’ll personally train you, Lumo, and Raka. You’re all my underlings now, and I need to make sure you’re strong enough."

She grabbed the remote and played an episode of Naruto—the infamous bell training session.

Auri watched in horror as Kakashi-sensei tormented his student Naruto, delivering a devastating thousand years of pain technique. His feathers fluffed up in terror.

What… what is this human world?!

His tiny bird brain spiralled. If you don’t listen to your master, you get poked… in the butt?! The terrifying realization dawned upon him—Kakashi had done it to Naruto. What if… what if Nima ordered that underwear-wearing man to do it to him?!

Auri’s whole body trembled. I’m just a little bird! I haven’t even held a ladybird’s wing yet!

SOB! SOB! SOB!

I have to obey her. If I don’t, she might make that man poke my butt! And he’s stronger than me! I’m the weakest in this house! Will I be bullied again, just like in my old home? But wait—Kent. Kent was kind. Kent wouldn’t let anyone bully him, right?

At that moment, Kent returned from training. Before he could even step inside, Auri launched himself onto Kent’s shoulder, gripping tightly. Kent blinked, sensing the distress in the little bird. "What’s wrong with you, Auri?" His sharp gaze turned to Nima. "What did you do?"

Nima crossed her arms. "I didn’t do anything! I just showed him Naruto and told him he needed to train. He started acting weird all of a sudden. Hold on, let me ask him." She stands up from the sofa. "Auri, what’s wrong? I can understand your language, you know."

Before Auri could respond, Kent sighed. "No need to ask. I can feel his emotions. He thinks he’s too weak." Kent gently patted the trembling bird. "Don’t worry, little guy. I’ll make you strong soon." A sharp glint flashed in his eyes. " He murmurs to himself, as soon as my system comes online."

One hour later...

The morning sun filtered through the curtains as Kent leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching Nima with a smirk.

She was sprawled out on the couch, wrapped in a blanket like a lazy caterpillar refusing to evolve into a butterfly. "Nima," Kent called out.

No response.

"Nimaaaa," he stretched her name, trying to sound as annoying as possible. Still nothing.

Kent sighed. "Alright, fine. I was going to take you to a fancy restaurant, but if you don’t want—"

Nima was off the couch in an instant.

"You should have said that earlier!" she huffed, rubbing her eyes. "Why are you wasting my time? Let me go get dressed!"

Kent chuckled as she vanished into her room at lightning speed. I am such a genius;- Hook, line, and sinker. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Fifteen minutes later, Nima reappeared, dressed in a new outfit, her hair neatly brushed. She even wore a small pendant around her neck, something she only did when she wanted to look "respectable."

Kent raised an eyebrow. Wow! You actually dressed up. You are looking very good. "I guess my guest will like that. Kent said to himself with an evil smile."

"Of course! A fancy restaurant means good food," Nima said, adjusting her sleeves. "Where are we going?"

Kent grabbed his jacket. "You’ll see."

The two made their way through the bustling streets of Metro City, passing by merchants shouting about their wares and children running through the alleys.

After ten minutes, they reached their destination. A high-end restaurant with golden lanterns, elegantly dressed waiters, and the faint scent of expensive spices lingering in the air.

Nima’s eyes sparkled. "Okay, I approve."

Kent smiled and led her inside. They were immediately guided to a private table. As they sat down, a third person was already waiting for them.

Jade Monroe.

Nima blinked. "Wait… why is he(fatso) here?"

Jade casually picked up a menu. "Oh? Didn’t Kent tell you? He invited me."

Nima’s smile twitched. "…For what reason?"

Kent cleared his throat. "We are here to discuss your school admission."

Silence.

The temperature at the table dropped. Nima slowly turned her head toward Kent, her expression neutral. "You… lied to me."

Kent tried to look innocent. "I didn’t lie! I said we were going to a fancy restaurant, and here we are!"

"You made it sound like we were coming to eat," Nima growled.

Kent coughed. "Well… we are eating."

Nima clenched her chopsticks with enough force to break them in half. Before Nima could explode, the food arrived.

New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.

And before Nima could grab anything—

Jade Monroe stole the first plate. Then the second. And the third. Mostly all the meats.

With the speed of a seasoned warrior, Jade expertly snatched dish after dish, stacking them on her side of the table while maintaining a completely straight face. Taking to Kent and eating without a worry.

Nima stared in horror.

Even Kent was stunned. "Uh… Jade? That’s a lot of food."

Jade, already eating, nodded. "Yeah."

Kent blinked. "You… uh, you going to share?"

Jade casually lifted a dumpling with his chopsticks. "No."

Nima’s hands shook.

She wanted to flip the entire table, but Jade was an important person… and she didn’t want to embarrass Kent. So she swallowed her rage.

Her eye twitched violently as she watched Jade munch through an entire roasted duck like it was a snack.

Kent, seeing the signs of imminent disaster, cleared his throat. "So, about Nima’s admission—" I can only pay this much money. Showing a hand sign.

Jade wiped his mouth with a napkin and waved a hand. "No need to pay, bro."

Kent raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"

"You were going to donate to help with her admission, right? No need. Just do two things for me."

Kent leaned back. "I’m listening."

Jade put down his chopsticks and held up two fingers.

First request: "When we were in the ruins, I got a report about a mysterious black guy wearing only underwear."

Kent almost choked on his drink.

Jade continued, unbothered. "Apparently, he’s been spotted multiple times, buying snacks like chips, juice, and chocolate."

Kent slowly put his cup down. "…Let me get this straight. You’re asking me to help find a half-naked snack buyer?"

Jade nodded. "You live in the market district, right? He’s mostly seen there. It should be easy."

Kent rubbed his temples. "This is a hard job."

Jade smirked. "But not difficult for you, Bro."

Nima, who had been silently fuming over her lack of food, suddenly perked up. She wanted to embarrass Jade for eating all that food. "Wait. If he’s only wearing underwear… how does he carry the snacks?"

Jade paused.

Kent and Nima stared at her. Kent signals her to keep silent.

Jade narrowed her eyes. "…I don’t know. That’s why you need to find him."

Second request: "A princess from the Northern County is coming to study in our Dragon Country. Logan told me to take care of her, but her family is very powerful in the north, so I don’t want to mess it up."

I have some personal work to do. I’m really busy right now. She will be your classmate, so…..

Kent already had a bad feeling. "Let me guess. You want me to… babysit her?"

Jade nodded. "Show her around town. Make sure she doesn’t get lost or cause trouble."

Kent groaned. "Do I look like a tour guide?"

Jade ignored him. "Help me with these two tasks, and I’ll personally take care of Nima’s college admission."

Kent leaned back, crossing his arms. "So, let me get this straight. You want me to hunt down Underwear Man and babysit a noble princess. In exchange, you’ll handle everything for Nima’s college admission?"
