Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Erupting Spiritual Ability

Chi Wan’s tone jolted Ding Yao from his fantasy, and a terrible premonition suddenly dawned on him. His expression changed. "What do you mean?"

Finally fed up with Ding Yao’s raving, which sounded like it was coming from a delusional maniac, Chi Wan couldn’t help but scoff, "It means that a nobody like you, whose ambition is higher than the heavens but whose life is as fragile as paper, thinks you’re fit to be compared to Brother Xingye? Even if you had been the one with the perfect gene sequence, I’d never choose a clueless fool who has no self-awareness!"

Ding Yao finally realized Chi Wan had just been tricking him into talking all along!

He looked in disbelief at Li Xingye, whose face had returned to its usual impassive state, and growled, "You... you bunch of scum!" 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Duan Qianyu scoffed. "I think you’ve died so many times it’s scrambled your brain. Did you really think seeing those futures made you a prophet? You’re just a bystander at best, yet you have the audacity to covet power that isn’t yours."

"Wanwan was absolutely right—ambition higher than the heavens, life as fragile as paper. Now I’m starting to wonder how much of this so-called ’future’ you saw was real, and how much you just made up."

Even Qiangzi cringed. "How did I ever think you were smart? If you’d just come out and said you were jealous of the Boss and couldn’t stand him, I’d at least have respected you for being a man about it. But after all this, it turns out you’re just living in your own head, claiming moral victories?"

Cheng Peng patted Qiangzi’s shoulder. "Just let him talk. ’Ending the apocalypse’... please. I think he was probably so jealous that he started hallucinating during his ’recombination.’ He mistook his own fantasies for this so-called future."

Ding Yao couldn’t stand hearing his greatest asset being dismissed as worthless. His eyes instantly became bloodshot. "Do you really think I’d dare kidnap Li Xingye’s woman without a trump card? I couldn’t find that bitch, but taking you all down with me will do just fine!"

"After you’re all dead, I’ll get to enjoy watching Li Xingye’s end in this lifetime—abandoned by all his friends and followers! HAHAHAHAHA..."

Amidst Ding Yao’s maniacal laughter, Duan Qianyu’s face fell. "He has something in his hand!"

The next second, an invisible force swept through the room, attacking the most vulnerable part of them—their minds!

"It’s a Spiritual Ability! From the Leader of Dawn! They’ve also developed a superpower weapon powered by an internal Crystal Core!" Duan Qianyu instantly threw out several capsule-like objects. Upon activation, they created a few fragile barriers, shielding everyone inside.

Unfortunately, against a Spiritual Ability of such a vastly higher level, the barriers held for only a few seconds before shattering instantly.

Duan Qianyu continuously activated and threw out more Spirit Barriers, desperately trying to buy time for Li Xingye.

If anyone here could stop Ding Yao, it was Li Xingye.

Ding Yao watched Duan Qianyu’s futile struggle and laughed madly. "Give up, Li Xingye! So what if your superpower is incredible? This is an incorporeal spiritual attack. You can’t absorb a power that has no physical form, which means you have no way to resist it!"

"Once your spiritual power is destroyed, you’ll be nothing but an empty shell, and everything you have will be mine!!"

But his smile quickly froze. "No... Why? You promised it wouldn’t attack me... ARGH-AAAAAAH..."

Ding Yao seemed to suffer some kind of violent assault; the pain was so intense his eyes rolled back in his head.

What horrified him even more, however, was that Duan Qianyu and the others, who had been struggling against the spiritual power attack just a moment ago, had suddenly vanished from before his very eyes!

"No... Impossible..." Ding Yao’s face was a mask of resentment as he guessed it was likely Chi Wan’s doing. But soon, a hideous grin spread across his face. "I... am... immortal... I will... be... revived..."

Li Xingye, however, simply pressed his temples, silent.

But with a slight twitch of his fingers, a green tendril—unlike his usual gray-black vines—stealthily snaked up the nape of Ding Yao’s neck.

The instant Ding Yao’s spiritual power collapsed, the tendril plunged into his body.

If Ding Yao had still been conscious, he would have discovered that his body, which should have been destroyed along with his spiritual power, was instead being constantly healed by Li Xingye’s superpower.

But by the time the energy fluctuations in the room completely subsided, Ding Yao had become the very "empty shell" he’d described.

Meanwhile, Qiangzi and the others stared in utter shock at the scene before them—a space that looked like a paradise on earth.

Qiangzi murmured, "This... This is where the Space God lives?"

Haozi pinched Qiangzi. "Am I dreaming...?"

The pain snapped Qiangzi back to his senses. He smacked Haozi on the head. "Don’t you know to pinch yourself?!"

Meanwhile, Chi Wan, who had acted in a moment of desperation, simply thinking that bringing them into her space might shield them from the attack, was also a little surprised to feel several new, living people inside.

’I... I actually brought them in?’

’No, that’s not right. It feels more like my control over the space has gotten stronger.’

Before this, Chi Wan had tried bringing living creatures from the post-apocalyptic world into her space, but it had always failed—let alone a person.

Regardless, seeing that everyone was no longer suffering from that so-called spiritual attack, Chi Wan breathed a sigh of relief.

Besides, she was still in her pajamas, so it wasn’t a good time for her to meet everyone. But her space was now vast, comparable in size to a small town. As long as she didn’t want to be found, Qiangzi and the others would never be able to find her.

However, Li Xingye hadn’t entered the space. And while Chi Wan had confidence in his strength, seeing him frowning in silence, looking as if he were in some discomfort, still made her a little worried.

Duan Qianyu guessed that bringing them in had to be the work of either Li Xingye or Chi Wan. She asked tentatively, "Is that you, Wanwan?"

The entire space was under Chi Wan’s control, so of course she heard Duan Qianyu’s question.

Her attention snapped back from Li Xingye, and she replied, "It’s me. I acted in a panic and just thought to pull you all in here. It looks like things are fine outside now, so I’ll let you out, okay?"

After she spoke, everyone’s vision blurred for a moment, and they found themselves back in the room.

Seeing Li Xingye’s frown, they were all alarmed. "Boss, are you all right?"

Li Xingye pinched the bridge of his nose and waved a dismissive hand. "I’m fine. You all head back. Take him with you and lock him up for now."

Seeing that Li Xingye seemed all right, and knowing Chi Wan was looking after him, the others were relieved.

The usually level-headed Cheng Peng couldn’t help but reveal a hint of shock. "That’s the first time I’ve ever been in a space that can hold living things, let alone people..."

Qiangzi, on the other hand, was more easygoing. He chuckled, "Well, otherwise Wanwan couldn’t have come to us before... Wait a minute. Ding Yao, you son of a bitch, I’m gonna kill you!"

He lunged forward to kick Ding Yao, who was lying on the floor, but Duan Qianyu grabbed his arm. "Wait. Something’s not right with him."

Haozi stepped forward and rolled Ding Yao onto his back, revealing a face with a vacant, foolish grin, drool trickling from the corner of his mouth.

Ding Yao had been reduced to a drooling imbecile.
