Chapter 1480: Chapter 1393: Heading to the Border
The sword that nearly sprang from the sword embryo gradually settled down not long after.
Feng Jiuling was already in tears.
Ye Guichen felt a deep gratitude, not expecting Feng Qiansui to sacrifice himself fearlessly, truly worthy of being the former Master of Wan Jian Villa.
"Master Feng, given the circumstances, we should leave now." Ye Guichen sighed.
The Meishan Ancestor had died, and even his storage ring was absorbed by the Eight Desolate Sword, leaving nothing behind.
So the original plan Ye Guichen had to use Meishan Ancestor’s sword for a breakthrough left him slightly disappointed.
Adding to that Feng Qiansui’s death, Ye Guichen felt displeased, blaming his low cultivation level.
The terror of the Eight Desolate Sword surpassed all expectations.
Ye Guichen even felt that even if the swords in his sword tomb released half of their power, they wouldn’t necessarily be a match for the Eight Desolate Sword.
However, if truly compared, once all the swords in the sword tomb exerted their full strength, each would be no less than the Eight Desolate Sword.
Improving one’s own strength remains the primary concern.
Ye Guichen turned and headed outside.
Feng Jiuling quietly followed behind.
Once outside, Ye Guichen suddenly stopped: "Right, Master Feng, this place is, after all, the Sword Heart Land of Wan Jian Villa. I specifically noticed earlier that the array here wasn’t destroyed. It simply hasn’t been maintained for too long and hence isn’t functional. Let me help you repair it."
Feng Jiuling was shocked, instinctively looked up at Ye Guichen: "You understand arrays too?"
Bear in mind, the array here was set up by the first Master of the Feng Family. It’s entirely unlikely anyone could repair it merely by glancing at it.
Ye Guichen smiled slightly: "Just wait a moment."
With that said, Ye Guichen leaped towards the rear left.
He drew his sword and sliced through a rock.
Then walked over to a sunken area in the front right, stomped down, and filled it up.
With such actions, Ye Guichen continuously modified over a dozen places outside the Sword Heart Land.
Upon returning to Feng Jiuling, the look in Feng Jiuling’s eyes towards Ye Guichen had completely changed.
Because, after Ye Guichen’s repairs, the entire Sword Heart Land was enveloped in a thick mist, which would lead one astray upon entering.
Ye Guichen extended his hand: "Master Feng, I need a drop of your blood."
"Huh?" Feng Jiuling was utterly stunned, instinctively extended his hand at the words: "I wonder what Mr. Ye needs my blood for?"
"To enter and exit this array." Ye Guichen said, slicing open Feng Jiuling’s fingertip, then flicking his sword.
Instantly, the mist before Feng Jiuling parted.
"Master Feng, try it out." Ye Guichen gestured forward.
Feng Jiuling suspiciously tried taking a couple steps.
As Feng Jiuling moved, the surrounding mist quickly dispersed, to an extremely uncanny degree.
"This, what exactly..." Feng Jiuling had never seen such an odd array.
Ye Guichen explained: "I merely fused the bloodline of your Feng Family into this array, so besides your family members, anyone else entering will get lost and never find their way out."
"Thank you, Mr. Ye, for your great kindness." Feng Jiuling didn’t know what to say; he almost knelt, but was stopped by Ye Guichen: "Master Feng, you are Chu Chu’s father. I understand Chu Chu’s feelings. But my intentions, I’ve also explained to her; I hope you can tell Chu Chu not to blame me."
"Ah..." Hearing Ye Guichen mention Feng Chuchu, Feng Jiuling sighed deeply: "Actually, Chu Chu has already left. She said she must find the Chaos Sea and cultivate to immortality to be worthy of you."
"What? Chu Chu left?" Ye Guichen’s first reaction upon hearing the news was concern over Feng Chuchu’s potential danger.
But upon further inquiry, he realized that Feng Chuchu’s feelings for him were difficult to change temporarily.
"Ah!" Ye Guichen felt inexplicably guilty.
It was initially well-intentioned, after all, he wasn’t seeking romantic entanglements, but now he had caused Feng Chuchu to become deeply infatuated; if anything happened to Feng Chuchu, he’d feel guilty for a lifetime.
"Enough." The person had already left, Ye Guichen could do nothing more.
In such a vast world, where could he even go?
"Master Feng, I’m truly sorry." Ye Guichen apologized to Feng Jiuling with a cupped fist.
Feng Jiuling merely waved his hand: "Chu Chu has always been stubborn since she was young, it might not be a bad thing for her. Since it’s happened, it’s not entirely your fault."
"I understand." Ye Guichen said nothing further but extended his hand again, "Master Feng, I don’t have much to give you, so I’ll gift you a set of swordsmanship."
"Swordsmanship?" Feng Jiuling was greatly surprised.
He had heard Feng Wuxiu mention many times Ye Guichen’s unmatched Sword Dao, and had witnessed firsthand the frightening scene of Ye Guichen’s hundred-sword reverberation. Naturally delighted that Ye Guichen was willing to teach swordsmanship, he quickly handed over his sword.
"This set of swordsmanship shall be called the Eight Desolate Sword!"
With that, Ye Guichen started to wield his sword.
The swordsmanship evolved from the Immortal Slayer Sword.
However, the Immortal Slayer Sword contains the Immortal Slaying Sword Technique with the ultimate goal of slaying immortals, and executing the Immortal Slaying Sword Technique requires the Immortal Slayer Sword, an Immortal Artifact.
Ordinary swordsmanship cannot manifest the same technique.
So, Ye Guichen modified the Immortal Slaying Sword Technique slightly, adapting it for ordinary swords to use.
But even so, it is still far superior to all the sword techniques of Wan Jian Villa.
After performing the nine moves, Ye Guichen handed the sword back to Feng Jiuling: "Master Feng, although this sword technique has only nine moves, once mastered, I believe with your current strength, killing the Meishan Ancestor would be no problem at all."
Could Feng Jiuling not see the brilliance of this swordsmanship?
With his current strength, killing a Golden Core Cultivator is something he wouldn’t even dare to dream of.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Ye, for your great kindness!" Feng Jiuling bowed once more.
Ye Guichen waved his hand, no longer lingering, and turned to leave.
Feng Wuxiu had long been waiting for Ye Guichen with the Red Wolf Army.
After joining up with the Red Wolf Army, Ye Guichen roughly learned the location of the hundred thousand-strong army.
Feng Zhuo and Chen Liangce, leading the hundred thousand-strong army, had arrived at the border of the Daqian Dynasty.
Due to frequent disturbances from the Demon Clan at the border, they did not dare to advance and instead set up camp there.
However, it seems that upon learning the Daqian Dynasty had also dispatched troops, those of the Demon Clan did not confront the soldiers of the Daqian Dynasty and instead went silent, avoiding border disturbances altogether.
Only occasionally would experts appear, killing some and then retreating, leaving people helpless.
The people of the Xuantian Sect were even more troubled.
Though the Xuantian Sect is considered the top sect of the Daqian Dynasty, with many Foundation Establishment Cultivators, they dared not move rashly.
Upon entering the Northern North Desolation, the Xuantian Sect people would find themselves in peril.
The Xuantian Sect had always hoped the Daqian Dynasty would somehow restrain those monsters, and the truly powerful half-demons would be left for them to handle.
But the Demon Clan is not stupid.
On the contrary, they deliberately avoided the experts of the Xuantian Sect and specialized in harassing the soldiers of the Daqian Dynasty, constantly moving around, causing endless annoyance to the soldiers.
For this reason, unable to find a solution for a time, they sent Feng Qiansui to request Ye Guichen’s prompt return.
Once Ye Guichen roughly understood the situation, he did not linger, instructed Feng Wuxiu to lead the Red Wolf Army and catch up with the Divine Army as quickly as possible, while he himself flew towards the border.
Midway, by chance, Ye Guichen encountered Zhu Biao and Wei Lin again.
Upon seeing Ye Guichen, the two immediately bowed: "Greetings, Mr. Ye."
It was apparent that Wei Lin had already informed Zhu Biao of Ye Guichen’s actions at Wan Jian Villa.
The two had nothing but reverence for Ye Guichen.
Ye Guichen smiled faintly: "Where are you two planning to go?"
Zhu Biao quickly replied: "After some discussion, the two of us feel that a life of deceit is too dull, and if Mr. Ye is willing, we wish to follow you, Mr. Ye."
"Follow me?" Ye Guichen was amused: "What would you do by following me?"
"Aren’t you going to deal with the Demon Clan? We can contribute our strength, and besides, we’ve been to the Northern North Desolation before, so if you’re heading there, we might be able to guide you."
Over the years, Wei Lin and Zhu Biao had indeed traveled to many places, so it was not surprising they had been to the Northern North Desolation.
After some thought, Ye Guichen didn’t refuse.
Ye Guichen not only wanted to go to the Netherworld Mountain to look for his mother, but also hoped to reach the Chaos Sea.
It seems that to attain the Great Dao and become immortal, one must cross the Chaos Sea.
Currently, he was clueless, and having these two along could save a lot of trouble.
"Alright!" Ye Guichen nodded in agreement: "I’m heading to the border first, so find me there."
After speaking, Ye Guichen continued on his journey.
But before he even reached the border, he heard the sounds of fighting and the roars of beasts ahead.
Ye Guichen looked up and saw four people dressed in Xuantian Sect disciple attire surrounding a Wolf Head Man in combat.
Judging by the appearance of the four, they were only at the early stage of Foundation Establishment, and though outnumbered, the Wolf Head Man was clearly in a superior position.
The Wolf Head Man roared, the sound causing a momentary daze among the four Xuantian Sect members.
Then, the Wolf Head Man swiped one of them away with a claw and bit another on the neck with his mouth, directly breaking the neck of that Xuantian Sect disciple.
The methods were clean and swift.
In just a few minutes, one was dead and three were injured among the four.
The Wolf Head Man laughed wildly, suddenly transforming into a giant wolf five to six meters long, seemingly intent on devouring all four.
The three surviving disciples’ faces turned pale, realizing their chances of survival were slim.
Two of them struggled to stand, shielding a fellow disciple: "Junior Sister Qi, we’ll fight this Wolf Demon to the end. You must hurry back and tell Master that Demon Clan members have quietly bypassed the border and entered the Daqian Dynasty!"
The disciple they were protecting was a female disciple.
At this moment, her clothes were torn to shreds, and she was severely injured.
She managed to get up, her beautiful face pale, tears streaming from her eyes like broken pearls: "Brothers, how can I stand by and watch as the Wolf Demon eats you?"
"Go quickly, if you don’t leave, we’ll all die!" A disciple shouted loudly, rushing toward the Wolf Demon once again.
But in that state, it was clearly akin to an egg striking a rock.
