"I know, I know." Joanna Lawrence nodded quickly, "After this shooting, I will take a break. Mom, are you in a hurry to hold a grandchild? Don’t worry, I think maybe you can have one pretty soon."

"Gary has a girlfriend now. And he’s planning to bring her along when he comes back home this time. He told me that, barring any accidents, this girl would be my future sister-in-law and your future daughter-in-law."

"What did you say?" Her amazement was so great she could barely speak clearly, stammering, "Are you saying Gary has a girlfriend now?"
"Yes," Joanna nodded.
"Is this true?" Madam White still looked incredulous, her eyes filled with shock. "Joanna, are you lying to me? Does Gary really have a girlfriend? And he’s planning to bring her when he comes back home this time?"
"It’s true. Mom, why would I lie to you?" Joanna said with a smile, "Anyway, that’s what Gary told me. He shouldn’t be lying to me, and there’s no reason for him to."
It took Madam White a while to finally seem to believe, and her face gradually showed joy, her eyes lighting up.
She looked extremely delighted, "That’s great! I’ve been worrying about Gary’s marriage for so many years, it’s become a concern for me. I was afraid he wouldn’t want to get married as he got older. If he really brings someone home, we must treat them well."
"We can’t let them think the White family is difficult to enter or that your dad and I are hard to get along with, scaring them off."
