Gu Yan drove himself back to his villa.
In the desolate villa, he was alone. He thought it would always be just him.
Quietly sitting in the hall, he helplessly leaned back on the couch. Regardless of winning a triumphant battle against the one he despised, he didn’t feel happy at all.

He clutched his face with both hands, agony washing over him as he collapsed onto his knees.
"What’s wrong, are you not feeling well?" A gentle, concerned voice emerged from behind him.
Gu Yan gasped, turning around in surprise, only to find Ye Lu smiling at him, holding some vegetables in her hands.
He was astonished. How was she here? He thought she would never show up again.
"I’m okay, just a bit tired today."
Ye Lu put down the vegetables, poured a cup of hot tea for him, and laughed, "I heard that the stocks of Gu Clan picked up today, and are rising quite much, congratulations."
Gu Yan glanced at her, "Yes, indeed, they’ve improved."
"I was scared when I saw the steep plunge. Then, it suddenly turned around. I was astounded. How come?" Ye Lu asked innocently.
"We were under attack, but at the critical moment, I adopted a decisive strategy and reversed the situation. But something strange happened, I received an anonymous document revealing some secrets."
Ye Lu’s heart skipped a beat, "What secret?"
"The possible bottom price when the attackers close out."
"Did you implement your strategy based on that secret?"
With a heavy and complicated heart, she felt saddened. If Gu Yan did bank on that secret, like Yuanyuan presumed, it would mean that he might have taken advantage of her.
"No, how can one easily trust an anonymous source like that. It might have been a trap set by the opponent. How can I take the company’s future lightly?"
Gu Yan remained expressionless.
"On top of that, even if someone wanted to alert me out of goodwill, it wouldn’t have been of much use. After all, knowing the opponent’s bottom price wouldn’t change our predicament."
Ye Lu’s eyes lit up as she asked, "Then what did you do to turn things around?"
"I had suspected an attack on our stocks, hence, I had teamed up with a few major European investment banks beforehand, requesting their help in such a situation. This was a plan set in motion a long time ago. Moreover, the agreed purchase price we had forecast was 95.1, which unexpectedly coincides with the anonymous email."
"I see."
Ye Lu heaved a sigh of relief and a smile surfaced on her face. As she had thought, he hadn’t used her.
These major investment companies would have needed a thorough plan before acquiring Gu Clan’s shares massively. It must have been a partnership devised in advance.
"Let me cook for you, you haven’t had dinner yet, right?"
Ye Lu happily walked into the kitchen.
Gu Yan watched her back, ruefully smiling. So, her return was to gauge him. She was also doubting him.
But now she trusted him.
Because he was too cunning and meticulous, how could she have guessed it?
