Chapter 269: Chapter 269: A Complete Mess_1

Third Young Master Jun almost spat out his tea. His grandmother was seriously modern.

"Grandma, that’s not it." He wouldn’t let his child become a subject of gossip as an illegitimate child, taking the path he once took. His child would be born legitimate, of course.

Old Madam Jun felt a little disappointed, but she was still very pleased.

Although, after thinking for a while, she became worried again.

"Why so sudden? I’ve never heard of you dating any girl, and now suddenly, you’re getting engaged, getting married? Isn’t that a bit fast?"

She was slightly worried if her grandson was impulsively deciding to marry because of the emotional upset his father, Jun Shi, caused him last time.

"Grandma, don’t you want me to get married and have a baby for you to play with?"

"Of course, but what I really hope for you is a happy and stable marriage, not rash impulsiveness, or marrying someone out of loneliness." Her biggest hope was for her grandson to have a loving wife, to give him the feeling of a warm family again.

She was afraid he was too impulsive, without clear thinking, marrying rashly without finding the person he truly loved.

"Grandma, I know what you’re worried about. But my decision will not change." Third Young Master Jun was steadfast. He indeed got the impulse to marry due to his father’s harsh stimulation.

Yet it was not merely impulsiveness. In his heart, he genuinely desired a warm family.

One to care for him, to need him when he was lonely, when he was tired.

"Do you love that girl?" asked Old Madam Jun.

Third Young Master Jun paused, thinking for a long time. Did he love Ye Lu?

Perhaps he wasn’t quite there at the point of love, but at least he liked her. He thought she was quite adorable, quite suitable for him, definitely sparking his desire to marry her.

"I will love her in the future."

Old Madam Jun glared at him. What kind of an answer was that?

"Does she love you?"

"Of course." Third Young Master Jun was brimming with confidence, "I’ve been so kind to her, and I’m so perfect. If she has any brains at all, she would fall in love with me. Marrying me, she can have everything that women in the world desire, why wouldn’t she love me?"

Old Madam Jun was totally speechless now.

Oh no, her grandson has a brilliant mind for business, but when it comes to feelings, he’s totally an idiot. What was this logic that ’because he was good to her, she would fall in love with him’? Was love such a simple matter?

"So it means, you two haven’t developed any deep feelings yet."

Third Young Master Jun didn’t see it as a problem: "Is there a problem? Love, it’s something to be nurtured slowly after marriage. Isn’t a lifetime enough time?"

Get married first, then foster feelings. Anyway, once she became his, she couldn’t escape!

Old Madam Jun felt a headache coming on.

"Have you proposed? Has she agreed?"

"...No."

"Then why are you talking about engagement, marriage when there isn’t even a touch of reality to it, at least propose!" Old Madam Jun was truly frustrated with him.

"Would she dare not accept if I, Third Young Master Jun, proposed to her?"

With his chilly demeanor, Third Young Master Jun asserted. Once she divorced Shang Jing, what reason could she have to refuse his proposal.

Old Madam Jun really didn’t want to deal with him anymore. How could such an intelligent woman like her have such an emotionally inept grandson.

It was fully the irresponsibility of his parents. One had abandoned him, the other ignored him completely, missing out on important emotional learning, making such a mess even when talking about a relationship.

She could only hope that the girl would treat him well.

"Bring her home on the day of the banquet, since you’ve decided to get married, you could introduce her to the family. Grandma will help you keep an eye on everything!"
