Chapter 1679: Chapter 1679: You Still Dare to Dislike Me

Maybe what the person in front of me said is right. Why did I forget him, of all people? This must be the punishment given to me by the heavens, to make me realize that I am deeply in love with someone, yet I can never remember who that person is.

I feel indescribable pain in my heart, yet I don’t even know who I’m hurting for.

What could be more distressing than this feeling?

"What does that have to do with me?" Ling Kong slightly turned his eyes away, avoiding looking at her tear-streaked face. Those sad, painful tears made him feel uncomfortable, wanting to reach out and wipe them away.

But she was just a stranger. Why should he bother to pity her?

She’s just someone irrelevant.

The two continued dancing in the ballroom in silence, without speaking. Yiyi kept her head down, feeling low and lost. If it wasn’t this person, then where should she go to find him?

In the vast sea of people, finding someone without a name, without a face, without a past.

It’s harder than finding a needle in a haystack, but she is determined to find him.

She has never felt this resolute before.

Yiyi quickly gathered herself, knowing she must face all this alone. She needed to be strong and steadfast. She would find him and figure out how to get home, and the two of them would go back together.

Thinking about returning to her own world with her loved one made her happy.

Even though she couldn’t remember many things, she knew that in that world, many people cared for and loved her. Her parents cherished her as if she were their treasure. If she didn’t return, wouldn’t they be heartbroken?

She couldn’t let that happen.

Ling Kong noticed her change in mood. Just a moment ago, she looked utterly dejected, but now she had bounced back, like a toy almost out of battery that suddenly recharges and comes back to life. Her bright eyes regained their shine and found confidence again.

He was taken aback. This girl truly had a positive attitude.

"Sorry, I really made a mistake." Yiyi scratched her head, showing an apologetic smile, looking somewhat embarrassed at him, considering how she’d acted like a lovestruck fool earlier. It was so embarrassing.

But she quickly winked mischievously.

"But you’re not at a loss here." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Ling Kong raised an eyebrow, "Do I have any advantages then?"

Yiyi chuckled, glancing over to the side of the dance floor at Yun Qingqing, whose eyes felt like daggers, and the sullen-looking heiress from Yalan Country.

"I’ve saved you from two annoying women, making sure they don’t cling to you. You don’t want to dance with them, right? I rescued you, your lifesaver. Otherwise, they would’ve clung to you like octopuses. See, the way they look at you, it’s like they want to swallow you whole!"

Ling Kong coolly raised an eyebrow, "I do find them annoying, but are you any better?"

Those two women may have shiny eyes, but they dared not offend him, at least maintaining etiquette. Yet she clung to him like an octopus, not allowing any room for rejection.

She even dared to consider herself his lifesaver.

Yiyi immediately widened her eyes, "With a face as beautiful and stunning as mine, dancing with you is a big gain for you, isn’t it? You have the honor of dancing with the belle of the ball, and yet you dare to disdain me. You really don’t know what’s good for you."

Ling Kong was momentarily speechless but found her unexpectedly interesting.

So narcissistic, yet in a way that wasn’t off-putting. Compared to those pretentious girls, there was a genuine, innocent pride and childlike playfulness that was hard to dislike.

"Belle of the ball, who crowned you?"

"I crowned myself," she declared proudly.
