Chapter 1653: Chapter 1653: Practically an Angel

"Yes, I will take you to meet someone, but for such a beautiful and clever lady, I have a piece of advice: do not anger him."

Yiyi’s eyes hardened—a meeting with another person? Judging by Major General Lino’s tone, this person’s status was even higher than his own.

"Why?"

Major General Lino flashed a toothy smile, his tone bizarre: "The people here say I’m an executioner, but compared to him, I’m practically an angel!"

Yiyi was shaken. If even this executioner dared to call himself an angel, just how terrifying could that man be?

The Eagle Country army was truly full of lunatics.

Unfortunately, she merely went out for a stroll and got involved with such a deranged character—what bad luck!

However, Yiyi wasn’t too scared. As long as she had value, her life would be safe for now. As for what would happen once she no longer had value, who could say?

Take it one step at a time; observe what these people intended by capturing her. It was probably related to the music she played.

...

Upon reaching a skyscraper near the city center, Major General Lino led her through numerous security checkpoints inside.

Then they took the elevator straight to the top floor and brought her to a room, saying they would call for her shortly.

Inside the room, Yiyi found over a dozen nervous young women sitting there. They were all young and beautiful, pale-faced, and speculating about why they had been brought here, their eyes filled with barely contained fear.

They feared what these soldiers might do to them or whether they would be killed.

Yiyi didn’t join in their panic but instead sat quietly by the window. It was a hidden position that allowed her to observe the entire room well.

After a careful study, she dejectedly realized that the chance of escape was slim.

Even if she managed to escape the room, she couldn’t get past the layers of fingerprint and voice-controlled security systems. She glanced out the window—unless she had the courage to jump from this hundred-story building.

That wouldn’t be escaping; it would be meeting her maker.

But she couldn’t just sit and wait for death. If there was no escape, she’d have to take down the leader forcefully to make them release her.

Being low-key and well-behaved did not mean she was stupid. These mysterious figures gathering them here weren’t planning anything good. Whatever the outcome, they would certainly eliminate witnesses.

She had worked too hard to stay alive; they wouldn’t take her life easily.

Yiyi’s eyes darted around, searching for a weapon in the room—something small and inconspicuous, yet capable of helping her bring down a strong military man instantly, which wasn’t an easy task.

The room didn’t even have glass cups, indicating the level of precaution these people were taking with them.

Yiyi was quite disappointed. As her gaze inadvertently swept over the chatty group of girls, her eye caught something on the floor, and suddenly her eyes lit up. She had found a good item.

She went over and picked up a small mirror that had fallen by a girl’s feet, smiling as she asked if she could borrow it.

The girl looked at her in confusion—with everything so tense, she still had the mind for looking in a mirror—she waved her hand in exasperation, allowing her to take it.

Yiyi received the mirror and touched its exquisite craftsmanship, turning it in her hand a couple of times.

Impressed, she marveled at the world’s technological advances. This mirror was made with special materials, boasting high translucency and reflectivity, rendering the reflected image even clearer and brighter than direct vision.
