Chapter 1448: Chapter 1448: In a Frenzy

His heart was filled with urgent worry. Shadow had extraordinary skills. He had been following him and Third Young Master Jun all this time without either of them noticing his presence. This meant Shadow had likely grasped a great deal about the Third Young Master’s movements.

This time, the Third Young Master went to meet Ye Lu, while he himself fabricated this lie. If Shadow exposed him, it would be all over.

If he were to be punished and chastised by the Godfather because of this, he was willing to accept it.

But involving the Third Young Master in this would be disastrous. If the Godfather discovered that the Third Young Master was disobedient, then the trouble awaiting him would be unimaginable.

His heart was burning with anxiety, but he was helpless and could only keep his eyes on Shadow.

Shadow, however, hardly paid him any mind. That bland, emotionless face resembled a stone carving, devoid of expression, devoid of emotion.

"Yesterday morning, around 6 a.m., Third Young Master Jun suddenly left the hotel!" Shadow’s icy voice, cold as winter, drifted mercilessly through the air. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

As expected, Shadow had tracked the Third Young Master’s movements. Lie Feng’s heart sank with bitter laughter. This time, it was truly over. Shadow was the Godfather’s most loyal subordinate, completely different from him. Lie Feng was coerced and forced to obey, but Shadow had followed the Godfather since childhood, adhering to orders unconditionally, incapable of betrayal.

Shadow would undoubtedly reveal the Third Young Master’s whereabouts.

Lie Feng felt utterly despondent.

Yet, Shadow’s calm and chilling voice continued to report Third Young Master Jun’s movements.

Wait, something was wrong.

Lie Feng’s heart suddenly jumped, and he looked up at Shadow.

The details Shadow reported were almost identical to what Lie Feng had fabricated, but Shadow’s version was even more intricate, down to every time period and every person encountered. It was absolutely thorough, leaving no room for suspicion.

Lie Feng was stunned. He couldn’t understand why Shadow would say this. If Shadow hadn’t traced the Third Young Master’s movements, he wouldn’t believe it. Shadow was an expert in this field, far superior to Lie Feng. But the Third Young Master had clearly gone to meet Ye Lu.

Why hadn’t Shadow revealed that? Why hadn’t he exposed Lie Feng’s lie?

Lie Feng was plagued with incomprehension. But since Shadow had covered for him, regardless of Shadow’s intent, at least this calamity had been averted.

"Hmph." The Godfather cast a glance at Lie Feng, his suspicions fading.

Though the Godfather didn’t fully trust Lie Feng, he believed Shadow’s words without question. It wasn’t a matter of genuine trust; rather, the Godfather understood Shadow too well. Shadow had no reason to betray him.

That’s why Shadow had always been his sharp blade—a thoughtless gun, a machine that obeyed commands and carried out actions.

Whereas Lie Feng, after following King for years, could not guarantee steadfast loyalty when faced with critical moments.

Fearing discovery, Lie Feng hastily changed the subject, asking, "What about the situation in East Asia? The Godfather has been in North America all this time. What if the United Army takes advantage of the opportunity to strike? That’s our stronghold."

The Godfather snorted coldly, indifferent: "They dream of uprooting the Su Family’s base. Don’t worry. I have people among the United Army’s upper echelons, and all their information is under my control. The United Army is nothing but a bunch of fools being toyed with in my hands!"

Shadow added, "Today, several airplanes from the Hua Family flew out of this city."

"Good, good. Soon enough, she’ll have evidence against me in her hands. I’d like to see if she intends to uphold justice against her own kin or come to negotiate with me. Alright, both of you can leave now!" The Godfather waved his hand dismissively.

Lie Feng and Shadow left the room.

Shadow remained as cold as frost, interacting with no one. Lie Feng, too, had barely spoken a word to him. He wanted to ask Shadow about his motives but feared the man’s inscrutable mind. It might inadvertently reveal his and the Third Young Master’s secrets, rendering him incapable of trust.

After hesitating for a moment, Shadow vanished without a trace.
