Chapter 2836: Chapter 946: Vam Is a Maniac, Old Su Is a Fool, the Hunter Is an Idiot, and Murphy Has No Dignity
Huggesen’s soul had smoldered for a long time, and his body was like an oil lamp running out of fuel.
He was originally the divine selection of The Master of Hunting, his body filled with the toxic Divine Power of subspace. After encountering the purification of the Omega Program, it was as if oil was cooking on a fierce flame. Under the intensity of The Master of Hunting’s soul being crushed to the bone and scattered like dust, it was extremely difficult for him to leave anything behind.
In the silent gaze of Murphy and Triss, Huggesen disappeared in a weathered posture within his shattered Power Armor, not even leaving ash to be remembered. He dissipated in the form of stardust in the wind of the Origin Land of the Wolf People.
That posture was rather joyous, as if he had run towards true freedom.
Death Claw was continually mourning as if seeing someone off, and so a weary soul found rest.
Murphy promised to erect a tombstone for Huggesen in the Swamp Forbidden Area, but judging by the current circumstances, it would likely have to be a cenotaph. Fortunately, Huggesen had a set of intimate divine selection hunting gear. While the vampire was extracting the armor from the shattered Power Armor, he appraised it and unexpectedly found its grade to be quite high.
It was originally the Chief’s Battle Armor made from top-grade materials of the Dark Mountain Range, and had been reborn under the Divine Power of The Master of Hunting. If Murphy didn’t dislike this barbaric style, he would have taken it back as a collection.
"I mean, isn’t this too much? This is someone else’s relic, and though the small players certainly wouldn’t mind—rather they’d love this kind of ’original flavor armor’—I still think it’s a bit overboard."
Seeing Murphy’s conflicted expression, Triss immediately knew what he was thinking. Not wanting to look, she patted the waist of Murphy’s Power Armor and said:
"Send it to Hog’s place, see how the Wise Wolf handles it. I mean, leave some memory for the widows and orphans. Your small players having that set of Power Armor is already enough to excite them.
But before sending it out, wouldn’t you want to find Mosna to help you repair it?"
"Why repair it?"
Murphy glanced at the Crimson Power Armor with its gaping hole made by the wolf-tooth lance and said with a pout:
"This is the wasteland battle damage style, understand? Leave it original for the players, and besides, it can be supplemented with an ’epic repair the Power Armor’ quest chain. If I, as the mainline NPC, solve everything for them, how would they have any game experience?
Ah, right, integrate this quest chain into the next expansion’s prologue, find Mosna to be the guide NPC for the ’Legacy of the Creator’, and educate the players on the basics of The Creator’s Land and the Legacy relics.
Let me think, the starting point of the quest should be from the ruins of the Farwalker Company headquarters.
There are many rampaging mech soldiers underground, just right to give the players a change of pace from fighting the Wolf People."
"I say, you..."
Triss was so helpless she couldn’t take it, seeing Murphy slipping back into work mode, she sighed and said:
"Just a moment ago you were so emotional with Huggesen, and now you’re back into work mode so quickly? Could you at least hold onto that sentiment a bit longer? There are few mortals like Huggesen in a thousand years.
At the very least, you need to..."
"He’s dead, Triss, he doesn’t have to care about all the difficulties and twists of the world anymore, watching us suffer here with a smile in the Wolf People’s heaven, he doesn’t need those memorials and emotions.
But we have to keep enduring our hard days, so who’s really worse off?"
Murphy turned around and glanced over the battlefield in the Swamp Forbidden Area behind him.
After the soul of The Master of Hunting was pulverized and scattered, the Wolf Man Rioters did not collapse because of it. Instead, they charged even more insanely at the positions of the giant serpents and the Smart Defenders in a self-destructive posture, only to be cut down like wheat by the ever-repeating fire of the Guardian Turrets.
The Creator’s defensive firepower previously left the generals and warriors invited to this battle staring at one another. Compared to the death-dealing mechanical fire, even the best-trained artillerymen of the Goldenrod Kingdom were outclassed.
And those cold killing machines mowing through the Wolf People’s army, causing the players to scream with joy, was enough to embarrass any Human General.
Almost without Murphy’s introduction, these generals had realized that the power the Creator held was far beyond the current technological level of the Continent, and this was precisely what Murphy wanted to see. They would yearn for this power, move to gather more information about The Creator’s Land.
The King and the generals might earn a little from it, but as the divine selection of the Creator, Murphy would definitely not lose out in this "great archaeological discovery".
Previously, when facing the Sanghai People, Murphy had confirmed that those regular weapons from the Eden District could not harm him, nor could they even lock onto him.
With the mysterious AI Eden as his guardian, Murphy knew that no matter how many pre-Era legacies the other kingdoms unearthed, when he ultimately needed them, those weapons dormant for a millennia would roar to life at his will.
"Let’s go, there’s nothing more to see here."
Murphy, exhausted after burning the soul of an Evil God, had no interest in observing the demise of the last batch of Wolf Man Rioters. It was neither elegant nor appealing. He bent down to rummage through the broken Power Armor, collected a few personal items of Huggesen, packed up his armor, and left with Triss and the reluctant Death Claw.
