Chapter 2498: Chapter 833: My Name Is Murphy, an Ordinary but Handsome Vampire_3
"No way! Lady Veylanther and Lady Yvette are very wealthy."
Yan Song retorted:
"At least a C+."
"Both of them are important NPCs, but this one just appeared, who knows what’s up with her... forget it, let’s get to work! I just heard Brother Meow and Stick Brother discussing the rewards for this mission.
Apparently, there’s an outlandish rumor that Sir Murphy is preparing to give us power armor."
"What? Power armor! You’re kidding me! That thing, in the entire game, only Wise Wolf has a set, and it’s a model specifically for Wolf People."
"You know nothing! If the development team doesn’t intend to list power armor as player equipment, they wouldn’t design this whole system. Isn’t it said that this ruin is a weapon business base from the Golden Era?
There must be something good here!
Over at the Werewolf Players’ side, they only need to pass the ’Guardian of Creation’ selection to get exoskeletons, so we surely have similar task flows here. I admit getting power armor at this stage is a bit unrealistic, but even getting just an exoskeleton would be great.
Look at Orchid’s ’Hunting Crown,’ how cool it is!
With just one piece of equipment, she’s become the absolute No.1 on the current player strength list; Brother Cat and Sister Pomegranate together can’t beat her.
Tsk tsk, I’m really starting to look forward to the reward!"
The players talked amongst themselves without paying much attention to the new NPCs being taken to see Sir Murphy. However, there were exceptions, like when the Umon Priest opened his eyes from emergency treatment and saw a curious blue face.
A Sanghai girl.
She was circling the Umon Priest, accompanied by a Holy Beetle, attempting to touch the priest’s decorations representing Fierce Sun.
"Wow, you’re the legendary Fierce Sun Priest, right? Hello, Sir, I’m Teranova! I’m a Bug Trainer from the Bome Lineage, now enlisted in Transylvania to fight the Black Disaster, and my friends and I are also Lady Nephitali’s guards!"
Upon seeing the Sanghai NPC awakened, Teranova immediately approached warmly and said:
"You look terrible, do you need to be transferred to Crimson Castle for treatment? Little Mummy... ahem, I mean, Lady Nephitali will certainly be delighted to see you."
"Nephitali? The chosen candidate of the Death Moon Society?"
Upon hearing news of his compatriots again in this place, the Umon Priest relaxed a bit. The Sanghai People are always united, so he didn’t doubt Teranova’s identity, and while removing his breathing mask, he said:
"I will visit her, but the war is not over yet. Fellow, please help me up; I must meet the master of this place. This... place of creation is a sacred land all Sanghai people must protect... Wait!
Why are there Werewolf People here! Who let them in? Guards! Where are the guards? Drive these savage creations out of this holy place! Every breath they take here is a desecration of the creator’s order!"
"Sir, don’t get worked up, you’re bleeding profusely, press it, lie back; those are all Guardians of Creation, the lost children returning to the road of the creator, at least that’s what they say."
"What? Werewolf People? Son of Creation? What a joke! We Sanghai People would never acknowledge such nonsensical claims! I... cough cough... I... uh... feel awful... ah!"
"Someone come quickly, Sir Umon has fainted from anger, hurry! Lady Shui, please come save him!"
With Teranova’s shout, several Shadow Trace Sect Martial Monk players immediately rushed over to pinch the Umon Priest’s philtrum, and one guy was about to use Warrior Monk’s Qi to "heal" the Sanghai Commander. In short, after a chaotic scene, the Umon Priest, now injured for the second time, was hastily moved to the nearby Teleportation Hall by a group of players to be sent to the R-9 base for treatment in a professional healing bio-chamber.
Although Farwalker Headquarters has treatment facilities, they were unusable due to long disrepair.
After this noisy situation, only Prince Filoseer and General Misoyan followed Lena to the main control center of the ruins.
This place is not yet open to players, thus very quiet. When the white mechanical door opened, what greeted them was Murphy checking some log files in front of the control platform.
His back was turned to the duo, wearing heavy armor left by Salockdale, making him appear quite burly. The blood-colored cape naturally hung over his back, accompanied by Essential Evil, and a Stardom Giant Wolf dozed at his feet.
Above the control center, perched on the antenna array’s frame, was the Blood-drinking spirit vulture Revno, observing the duo sharply.
This entrance scene, even if not considering Sir Murphy’s true power, his positioning alone is enough to awe those with limited experience.
"Just a moment."
Without turning his head, Murphy said to the visitors:
"The extent of damage at Farwalker Headquarters far exceeds my expectations. I need time to restart the control center here; this is a task requiring focus and knowledge, so I don’t have much time to offer you both.
Please think about the questions you wish to ask and the answers you seek... Oh, by the way, how impolite of me to forget to introduce myself."
His hands left the virtual keyboard before him, leaving everything to the mysterious "Eden" shadowing him, then turned around with hands on his back to face the downtrodden and disheveled Elf Prince and Human General.
His gaze lingered on Filoseer’s face for a few seconds, then he smiled softly and said:
"My name is Murphy, Governor of Transylvania and Count Cardman of the Blood Vulture Clan. I’ve been informed about what happened at Brass Fortress and Gorgon Mountain Pass, and I must say both of you have worked hard."
General Misoyan said nothing.
But his hand didn’t leave the weapon at his waist because a fearsome and dominant-looking black mechanical armor stood beside Murphy, and inside that steel destroyer-like armor sat a tiny Werewolf.
This figure stood as a guard next to Murphy, along with the vampire Lena standing on his other side, making this ordinarily handsome vampire appear mysterious too.
As for the Elven General...
Filoseer noticed Murphy’s momentary surprise when he saw her face earlier, and thus she asked:
"Have you seen me before, Your Excellency Governor?"
"No, this is our first meeting, Ma’am."
Murphy said softly:
"But I am certain I’ve met your relatives, not just once... Luna Christian Amagil, does that name sound familiar? You and her have faces crafted from the same mold, it seems we must find an opportunity to discuss this matter.
Hmm, a conversation you cannot refuse."
