Chapter 43: Healing Vow
Leon knew the loud magical collision would attract every rogue beast within a ten mile radius. He could not afford to stay in the exposed clearing for another minute.
He awkwardly manipulated his right hand despite the fractured bone and managed to pull the small glass vial containing the Minor Regeneration Pill from his leather satchel.
He popped the cork with his teeth and swallowed the glowing red liquid.
A warm soothing heat instantly flooded his bloodstream rushing directly to his shattered forearms.
He physically felt the cracked bones rapidly knitting themselves back together and the torn muscle fibers mending at an accelerated pace. Within sixty seconds he regained full functionality of his arms leaving behind only a lingering tenderness.
Leon rushed over to the fallen Silver Goddess.
Seraphina was unconscious and her breathing was dangerously shallow.
Her skin was incredibly cold to the touch and her usually vibrant silver hair was plastered to her sweaty forehead. She had severely damaged her internal magical pathways by forcing the Blood Lotus technique without possessing the required Grandmaster foundation.
He carefully gathered her limp body into his arms marveling at how light she felt against his massive eighty points of Strength.
Stormfang whined softly and nudged her dangling hand with his wet nose.
"Keep quiet and follow me," Leon ordered the giant wolf in a harsh urgent whisper.
He activated his Night Vision and scanned the dark treacherous terrain.
He spotted a rocky incline leading toward a dense cluster of ancient boulders that appeared to hide a natural fissure in the earth. He utilized his high Agility to swiftly carry the noble daughter up the steep rocky path with the giant armored wolf trailing closely behind them.
They slipped into the narrow opening and found themselves standing inside a dry secluded cave.
The natural stone walls provided excellent cover from the harsh elements.
Leon gently laid Seraphina down on a flat patch of smooth rock and immediately activated his Soundproof Ward ensuring any noise they made would not attract the roaming predators outside.
He knelt beside her and inspected her condition.
Her pulse was erratic and a faint dark purple hue was slowly spreading up her neck originating from a small shallow scratch on her collarbone that he had not noticed during the chaotic fight.
The Enforcer’s magical scythe carried a highly potent dark elemental poison and it was currently ravaging her weakened system.
The system interface chimed in his mind projecting a glowing pink text box over her pale face.
[Emergency Healing Quest Issued: The Caretaker’s Touch]
[Context: The most arrogant woman in the estate has sacrificed her own life force to protect you. She is dying from a lethal dark affliction. Prove your worth by purging the poison and securing her life.]
[Objective: Purchase the ’Lesser Cleansing Elixir’ from the shop. You must drink the potion yourself and transfer it directly into her mouth while utilizing your hands to manually stimulate her blood flow along her bare midriff and thighs.]
[Reward: +20 Mana, Skill ’Aura Circulation (Basic)’, 250 Shameless Points.]
[Failure Penalty: The Silver Goddess dies ending a highly lucrative mission and leaving you entirely alone in a hostile forest.]
Leon did not need the threat of failure to motivate him.
He rapidly opened the system shop and spent three hundred of his hard earned Shameless Points to purchase the Lesser Cleansing Elixir.
A small crystalline vial filled with glowing golden liquid materialized in his palm.
He looked down at the unconscious woman.
Seraphina looked incredibly fragile in the dim light of the cave. She was no longer the terrifying martial prodigy who commanded absolute obedience. She was simply a beautiful woman clinging desperately to life.
Leon uncorked the vial and tipped the golden liquid into his own mouth. It tasted intensely of sweet honey and fiery cinnamon.
He leaned forward and gently pinched her nose closed before pressing his lips firmly against hers.
He slowly parted her lips and coaxed the glowing elixir directly into her mouth massaging her throat lightly to force her swallowing reflex to engage.
The moment the potion entered her system he moved his hands down her body to fulfill the rest of the unhinged quest requirements.
He unclasped the heavy leather buckles of her dark combat suit loosening the rigid material to expose her toned midriff and the athletic curve of her upper thighs.
The cool cave air washed over her pale skin as Leon firmly placed his large warm hands against her flesh. He utilized his passive Basic Caress skill not for the sake of degenerate pleasure but to manually stimulate her sluggish cardiovascular system.
He rubbed his hands vigorously along her exposed waist and thighs applying deep rhythmic pressure to force the healing elixir to circulate rapidly through her poisoned veins.
The magical dexterity of his skill worked miracles accelerating her blood flow and generating a highly intense localized heat that fought back the freezing dark affliction.
The dark purple hue creeping up her neck slowly halted its advance before gradually receding back down her collarbone until it vanished entirely. The golden energy of the elixir perfectly neutralized the dark poison and began repairing her damaged magical pathways.
Seraphina let out a soft ragged sigh and the healthy pink color finally returned to her cheeks. Her breathing steadied into a deep restful rhythm indicating the immediate danger had passed.
[Quest Completed Successfully!]
[The Silver Goddess lives to fight another day.]
[Distributing Rewards: +20 Mana, Skill ’Aura Circulation (Basic)’ Acquired, 250 Shameless Points.]
Leon pulled his lips away from hers and wiped a stray drop of golden liquid from his chin.
A sudden rush of complex information flooded his brain as the Basic Aura Circulation skill unlocked the intricate secrets of channeling internal magical energy to strengthen his physical attacks.
He now possessed the foundational knowledge required to eventually clash with opponents like the masked Enforcer.
He sat back on the hard stone floor and watched the steady rise and fall of Seraphina’s chest.
He had tasted the bitter reality of defeat tonight but he had also successfully saved the life of the woman he was determined to win over.
He mentally swore that he would use every single degenerate quest and every single point of stamina the system granted him to build an impenetrable fortress of power.
He would become the true pinnacle of this brutal world and anyone who dared to stand in his way would quickly learn the terrifying price of arrogance against a degenerate.
