Chapter 1397: Chapter 1397: Crew’s Movers and Shakers
The matter with Ye Juanjuan came to a close, and on this day, Ye Fan followed Chu Biyao to the film set.
Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang, who had been eagerly waiting, greeted them with smiles.
Naturally, they were accompanied by all the relevant personnel.
"Mr. Ye, you’re finally here. We’ve been hoping and wishing for you, finally you’ve come to us." Luo Jian’an was overjoyed.
"Mr. Ye is such a busy person, finding time to visit our set really brings honor to us." Wang Qiang greeted with a smile.
Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang were quite polite, their words respectful, though their expressions showed some reproach, which Ye Fan noticed.
Ye Fan quickly apologized, saying, "What busy person, I’m just an outsider, how dare I guide your work? I was afraid of causing trouble for you and hesitated to come, but your warm invitation was irresistible, so I had to summon my courage to come."
To these two hardworking people who helped Chu Biyao establish her film company, Ye Fan had great respect.
Ye Fan had long promised them he would come to the set to help guide, but he indeed delayed for quite a long time.
For this, Ye Fan felt apologetic.
Regarding workflow and professional competence, Ye Fan was not on par with the two, truly an outsider.
But what Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang wanted was Ye Fan’s real martial arts skills and combat experience, which was what they needed to learn.
"Mr. Ye, no need to be modest," Luo Jian’an said with a mischievous smile. "Now that you’re finally here, I won’t hold back and will exhaust your value to the fullest."
"You two should not hold back, treat him like a beast of burden, no need to go easy on him, just make sure not to exhaust him to death," Chu Biyao said gleefully from the side.
Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang exchanged amused glances.
"A dog’s mouth produces no ivory," Ye Fan helplessly glanced at Chu Biyao.
Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang laughed even more heartily.
The four chatted as they walked inside.
"Who is that man?"
"Yeah, who is he?"
"The boss seems quite familiar with him, and even personally drove him here."
"To be driven by the boss, his status must be impressive."
"Someone known to the top actress shouldn’t be an unknown nobody."
"But I haven’t heard of such a person in the circle."
"Could he be a minor figure or newcomer? Doesn’t seem like it."
"Someone so valued by Director Luo and Brother Qiang can’t be a commoner."
The onlookers gossiped in disbelief, puzzled about Ye Fan’s identity.
They were referring to Chu Biyao as the boss and top actress.
They did not dare to discuss openly, so they whispered among themselves.
Ye Fan arrived at the film set, and after a brief rest, he was roped in by Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang. He had no choice and they were indeed a bit unreserved, making use of him wherever needed.
In several martial arts scenes, Ye Fan was naturally the main actor. Sometimes he acted as Wang Qiang’s stunt double and guided his actions. Ye Fan demonstrated a bit of his combat experience, which yielded satisfying results for Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang.
"No wonder he’s a martial arts expert. Even without protective gear and editing fake moves, with the addition of sparring partners with gear, none could match Mr. Ye. He completed a series of moves seamlessly, which was indeed impressive. It’s clear that Mr. Ye completed the moves with ease," Luo Jian’an said, both satisfied and amazed.
"Indeed, a professional expert differs greatly from mere pretenders. Even though I concentrate on physical training and learning martial arts, in comparison to Mr. Ye, there’s a vast gap. The skills and experiences Mr. Ye displayed disrupted my understanding, with his moves being fresh and unconfined by conventional routines," Wang Qiang said with a smile.
Ye Fan’s performance won genuine admiration from Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang; they truly respected Ye Fan’s skills.
They not only learned a lot but also gained insights into future filming and choreographing methods.
Other members of the film set, whether seasoned retired warriors or extras, were stunned by Ye Fan’s explosive combat style.
"Who is he?"
"Who is this guy?"
"So impressive, maybe he can punch a cow to death."
"It’s so mind-boggling."
Many people were taken aback and stood dumbfounded.
In no time, half a day passed, and Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang accompanied Ye Fan for lunch.
"Does it suit your taste, Mr. Ye?" Luo Jian’an asked with concern. "Even if you haven’t tried boxed lunches, visiting the set is an experience in and of itself. Since we finally got you here, let the big meals wait for another time. Boxed lunches are part of the unique experiences of the film set."
"Mr. Ye, we’ve given you an opportunity to experience an alternative lifestyle, be sure to thank us," Wang Qiang said with a smile.
"I know you’re stingy, so I won’t ask for much. I’m not picky about food, just simple is fine," Ye Fan said casually.
"Mr. Ye," Wang Qiang sincerely asked, "That move earlier was impressive; I haven’t grasped the technique yet. Later, you’ll need to give me some private lessons."
"No problem," Ye Fan said generously.
"There are several shots where we’ll need Mr. Ye to stand in for us," Luo Jian’an said.
"No problem," Ye Fan agreed.
"You really are willing to do anything, agreeing to whatever," Luo Jian’an said with an amused grin.
"Well, I promised you guys and you’ve urged me to come quite a few times, so it’s my fault for delaying so long. If there’s anything you need me for, just let me know," Ye Fan said sincerely.
"Mr. Ye, you said it, later don’t say you’re tired," Wang Qiang said mischievously.
Luo Jian’an squinted with genuine intent, "Actually, since knowing you’d come, we’ve prepared a lot of work for you, ensuring you won’t have downtime."
"It’s like you’ve dug a pit, waiting for me to jump in," Ye Fan said with a helpless smile.
Interacting with Luo Jian’an and Wang Qiang, Ye Fan felt no pressure. He had a good impression of these two down-to-earth individuals.
Ye Fan didn’t have deep personal ties with them, but they got along well, and there was no need for pretense, which felt comforting.
Luo Jian’an quickly sold out Chu Biyao, saying, "The boss instructed us, but we’re the good guys."
In reality, Chu Biyao only suggested it, and all arrangements were made by them.
"That’s nonsense!" Ye Fan didn’t believe it and chuckled.
"Still can’t fool Mr. Ye, actually all the tasks were assigned by Director Luo, who’s quite mischievous," Wang Qiang irresponsibly sold out Luo Jian’an.
"You’re the worst," Luo Jian’an pointedly chastised Wang Qiang.
