Chapter 1340: Chapter 1340: The Peng Bird Appears

General Hawan was taken hostage, but it didn’t cause any commotion inside the casino. Since General Hawan had said so, the casino naturally dared not spread the news indiscriminately; they dared not spread unfavorable news about General Hawan.

Moreover, General Hawan had given orders, so the casino naturally kept the secret.

Although the casino bears unshirkable responsibility for General Hawan’s ordeal, at this point, they can only watch and wait for change.

Flower Snake broke into a cold sweat upon hearing the news and immediately issued a gag order.

Flower Snake hadn’t anticipated this sudden situation, but with General Hawan’s instructions, she could only keep quiet.

If she acted or spread the news, General Hawan’s situation would become even more dangerous; she understood this much.

At this point, there was nothing she could do but quietly watch the situation unfold.

"It seems General Hawan had no choice but to go with the assailants. As for the assailants’ identity, General Hawan must know," Flower Snake pondered, slowly saying, "General Hawan also trusts in ensuring his own safety, which is why he didn’t resist following the assailants. This makes the situation much better. As long as General Hawan’s life is not in danger, that’s more important than anything."

Flower Snake could think of this, but another problem was something she couldn’t understand no matter what.

"Who are they, exactly? Why are they so bold?" Flower Snake asked anxiously, furrowing her brow. "Judging from recent events, the ones who kidnapped General Hawan are likely the impostors of the Peng Bird group. No one else has the guts or would dare to do such a thing. Looking around the nearby region, the only ones who would dare harm General Hawan are this group."

Understanding this reasoning, everything became clear in Flower Snake’s mind, and she no longer had any doubts.

"We racked our brains trying to figure out who these Peng Bird impostors were, only to find that the impostors themselves came to cause a disturbance inside the real Peng Bird’s casino. It’s like searching high and low only to find them effortlessly," Flower Snake laughed coldly, her face full of icy intent and killing aura.

After organizing her thoughts, Flower Snake opened a video, and Peng Bird’s true appearance was revealed on the other side.

Peng Bird was a middle-aged man, robustly built and physically imposing.

"Flower Snake, it seems you have good news to report?" Peng Bird smiled indifferently.

"Leader, I do have good news. There are a total of seven impostors of the Peng Bird group. Just now, four appeared in the casino. Two were outside, and two were inside," Flower Snake said succinctly.

"Interesting, truly interesting. They dared to impersonate me, to flaunt and deceive, and provoke the ferocity of the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps. Now, they’ve even come to cause trouble in my own business. Really, quite interesting," Peng Bird said with a smile, unable to hide his overwhelming murderous intent.

He let out a cold laugh before curiously asking, "How do you know they’re the impostors?"

"General Hawan was just kidnapped. From General Hawan’s mouth, I learned that the impostors are only seven people. After General Hawan saved Black Shark, he fought with these seven, suffering a great loss. Being taken hostage, it’s probable that only the impostors could do this, and their purpose must have been to kill Black Shark," Flower Snake explained logically, laying out the evidence and deducing all possible identities based on the events that occurred.

"General Hawan being taken from our operations is bad for us if anything happens to him. We were just trying to lay low, but this unexpected change happened. Who knows if it’s a blessing or a curse," Peng Bird said with some worry.

"Before leaving, General Hawan told us to act like we didn’t see anything. I believe General Hawan’s personal safety won’t be in any trouble," Flower Snake said earnestly, "The impostors daren’t harm General Hawan."

"The impostors, the real us, plus General Hawan and the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps, four forces are already tangled together, destined for turbulence. A bloody storm is about to break out," Peng Bird said, unable to hide his sharpness.

Such a situation was not the outcome Peng Bird’s people wanted to see. They had just settled into peace and were moving towards legitimacy with some achievements, having finally gained a foothold, only to now face this crisis.

The impostors had appeared, throwing a wrench in the works, dragging them back into the spotlight of conflict.

"Leader, no matter the storm, it doesn’t concern us much, right? We just stay put and watch. Let’s pretend these impostors are ourselves; no matter the final outcome, it has nothing to do with us. We finally withdrew from major conflicts, and making a big commotion again would expose us," Flower Snake voiced her concerns, her considerations having a certain rationale, thinking naturally from self-interest.

According to her thinking, they could pretend not to hear the external affairs or see them, acting as if everything had nothing to do with them. Even if the battle turns the skies dark, it doesn’t concern them at all.

This approach benefits them by not getting dragged into this inexplicable conflict, which is more important than anything else.

"If it were as simple as you think, that would be great," Peng Bird said helplessly. "In the underworld, no one can control their fate. Ever since the impostors emerged, we’ve been dragged into this contest. Even if they disregard our identity or don’t care for our feelings and life or death, it’s unavoidable. In the underworld, survival relies on strength. Even if we dismiss the impostors, the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps and General Hawan are not to be trifled with. They may not have traced things back to us yet, but sooner or later, they will. This disaster is unavoidable; we’ve been passively coerced to participate."

"That damned Peng Bird impostor, why impersonate us? Can’t they impersonate someone else? Why impersonate us? Isn’t this an insult to us? Making an enemy of us?" Flower Snake lamented, having no good feelings towards the impostors, only deep resentment.

"Complaining is useless," Peng Bird said helplessly.

"What should we do next?" Flower Snake asked.

"Let’s discuss with our brothers before making a plan," Peng Bird said solemnly.
