Chapter 670: *The Swallower of shadows*
So that was the true power of an Angel, thought Axel, but then Peter and Maya rushed in, telling Lena to stop, and suddenly three powerful evil beings appeared, floating in the air above the area that Lena was bathing with her white light, and they were all very powerful.
Lena then stopped using her light when she heard her parents screaming her name. Peter and Maya positioned themselves in front of her, and Peter told her, "Go back to safety immediately with your sister. There is nothing you can do against them. GO!"
Just when he said that, these three evil beings each launched a black laser beam towards Lena. Elias, who still had Willow in his arms, then teleported between Lena and her parents, creating a force field using only his God power, as he wasn’t in his Stage 2 anymore.
Then he said, when the three laser beams couldn’t pierce his force field, "What I hate the most is being ignored... What do you think, my little princess? Should I kill them quickly or let everyone fight again to gain more experience?"
Willow then shrugged, as she was still a child after all, and the knowledge she had gained from her ancestors couldn’t help her answer that question. Instead, she asked him, "What are they? I can only recognize the General Wizard, but I have never seen the others before."
These three powerful evil beings were all wearing long robes like magicians. The one Willow had recognized had a purple robe, the one on his left had a black robe, and the last one wore a green robe.
Peter then told them, "The one with the green robe is a Necromancer. Contrary to the General Wizard that you already know, this one can summon skeletons, and like the General Wizard, he can summon a lot of different skeletons, his most fearsome summoned creatures being the Dragon Skeletons."
He told them, "Then, there is the Swallower of Shadows, the one with the black robe, and the master of all the evil beings of our world. Each time he or one of his shadows kills someone, he steals their shadows, and your friends, your master, your lover then reappear in the form of a shadow while their levels stay the same."
He sighed before adding, "They look the same as before, but their eyes are black and their bodies are surrounded by a black aura. They can also use all their techniques, and while the Angels can heal everything like Lena just did, the Shadow Angels do the exact opposite."
Elias then looked at Maya and asked her, "This Swallower of Shadows wasn’t there the last time we came, right?"
Maya then smiled sadly at him and told him, "He did already exist back then, but as not a lot of people were dying, he never gained enough power to be a threat to us."
Peter then told them, "It’s because of these Gods that the Swallower of Shadows has become so powerful. They have served him on a plate, not only humans, Paladins, and Angels but also the most powerful of the evil beings. And in just a few months, he has become the new Master of the evil beings."
Axel, who had joined them as Willow was there after all, asked them, "Then why didn’t Lilith take him back with her into her personal dimension?"
Maya then said to him, looking at these three formidable enemies, "Because all three of them have become so powerful that she and Sliman couldn’t control them anymore. That’s also why they weren’t the ones to attack us from the start; they are normally too busy dealing with the Angels and the Paladins on the battlefields."
Elias then looked at Lena and asked them, "So they came for Lena’s powers, is that right?"
Peter and Maya nodded, and Atlas, who had joined them when he saw Lena’s parents starting to scream her name as if something wrong was happening, then asked them, "Why? There are plenty of Angels already, so why would they want to kill her?"
Peter then looked at him and said, "Lena’s powers are far superior to those of the other Angels. I don’t know how it is possible, and I didn’t even know until I saw her spread her light so far. That’s something none of the Angels here are able to do... It’s a miracle."
Maya then said, frustrated, "A miracle that has drawn all the attention of the most powerful evil beings of our world to her."
Elias then said to them, to appease them, "Do not worry, nobody will hurt Lena; you have my word."
Elias then asked them, "If this world can still fight this Swallower of Shadows, then it means that you have found a way to kill these shadows, so tell me how we kill them?"
Peter then told him, "The light of the Angels remains our strongest weapon against them, but it can’t eliminate the most powerful of them. Otherwise, like any Mages and fighters, they have a source of energy that links them to their Master; if you break it, then the shadow vanishes."
Axel then asked them, "What about the Skeletons? How do we get rid of them?"
Maya told them immediately, as they would surely have to fight them soon, "All the Skeletons, no matter what kind they are, have a green flame somewhere hidden in their bodies. You just have to strike them there with your powerful weapons to make them disappear."
Elias then looked at Axel and said to him, "It’s going to be fun soon; you should try to wake up Kevin, otherwise he will be pissed off for having missed such a great opportunity."
Axel smiled and then vanished. He knew that Willow was in good hands, so he left her with her grandpa, who didn’t seem to want to part with her yet.
Elias then said to the others, "Let’s retreat with everyone for now and see if they will attack us or just leave."
