Chapter 639: *It was game over for them*
As he was following the golden thread through this maze of tunnels, he couldn’t help but think that this Ancient God and Lilith had been very cautious to hide this place.
Not everyone could jump into this hole and get down unscathed, and then it was impossible for someone without hunting skills to find his way through these tunnels.
Even if this Ancient God hadn’t been there, he could have followed the path he usually used, as there were always traces of the signature energy of someone, even after a long time had passed, but not everyone could do it.
Kevin then told him, as Axel had shared his thoughts with him, "I could have used my Mage power to get down, and my golden chains would have found a way to the shield’s generator or any source of energy that might be hidden here. But you’re right; not a lot of people could have found their way in this maze. They really didn’t want the Paladins or the Angels to be able to contact reinforcements... When Elias and Miguel learn about this, they are going to be furious."
Kevin then added, as Axel still couldn’t see the Ancient God, "Hurry up and catch up with him. I don’t want to miss what he and Lilith are going to talk about; we will surely learn a lot about their plans, as they won’t think that someone could have followed him here."
Axel immediately increased his speed. Kevin was right; it was the kind of conversation they couldn’t miss. Just when he saw a golden light a few meters ahead of him, it was the aura of the God that he used to light the way, and he was still moving forward.
Just how far from the surface had they hidden this room? It sounded a little crazy...
Lilith hadn’t been so cautious in the other worlds where they found her training centers.
Since Axel had finally caught up with this Ancient God, he focused more on what was happening on Kevin’s side, and finally, the Knights of Darkness and Demons had joined the 4 men who had the mark of the Ancient God on their foreheads and whom they hadn’t had the time to kill.
From 4 opponents, they passed to 20 in a few seconds, and so Kevin had to change strategies to handle this new assault.
But Axel could only feel excitement from his part, and Kevin didn’t seem worried at all by this new wave of enemies, so he relaxed too.
It was when Kevin got tense that they should all worry, because it meant that the threat was so big that he wasn’t sure he could handle it on his own. But right now, as he was just enjoying his time, everything was still under control.
Using the divine energy, Kevin then drew in the air just in front of them the Rune that Axel had used on the force field he had created when they were still in the Coliseum arena, the one that made it possible to absorb energy and then use it to strengthen the force field.
He then asked Atlas, "Could you engrave this Rune using the Evil Divine Element on your force field so that every time they attack using the black particles, they will all be absorbed directly by it, and our force field, instead of losing power, will get stronger and stronger?"
Atlas didn’t even know that such Runes existed, but after the one Kevin had engraved on his forearm that allowed him to share his vision with Axel, and the others Axel had already engraved on them, he had no doubt that it was possible.
So he followed Kevin’s instructions and engraved his first Rune on his force field. It was really easy to do, and the only prerequisite was to use divine or spiritual energy to make them.
So once they got some time, he would ask Axel to teach him the language of Runes, as they were undoubtedly very useful.
As the opening in the wall to access the inside of the cave wasn’t very big, a single Rune was enough.
As soon as the Knights of Darkness tried to destroy his force field, Atlas immediately felt the number of black particles in his force field increase, and he said to Kevin, "It’s working; I’ve got access to a lot more black particles now. What do you want us to do with them?"
Kevin then said to him after thinking of something, "Spread these black particles discreetly on the ground and walls so that these Knights of Darkness and Demons won’t be able to escape."
He added, with a smile that was a bit creepy thought Atlas, "When the black particles are everywhere, turn them into a torrent of black flames so that they will be trapped. Their weapons won’t be powerful enough to absorb such a large quantity of black particles, and as you are more powerful than them, they won’t be able to take control of these black particles to absorb them into their energy reserves. That should reduce their numbers considerably, and then we will see."
Axel then praised Kevin because it was a good plan, and just when the Knights of Darkness and the Demons stopped bombarding the force shield with all kinds of different attacks, all of them being completely useless, Atlas was already spreading the black particles all over the ground and walls without them noticing it.
Just before he launched this deadly attack, Kevin used his golden chains to block their way out, and so it was game over for them.
The Knights of Darkness and these Demons were not strong enough to break through his golden chains, and they couldn’t get rid of Atlas’ force field either, so there was no way out for them.
As Kevin was totally in control of the situation over there, Axel focused back on this Ancient God, and suddenly a bright and huge room appeared. A huge crystal was in the center of this room, and Axel guessed that it was the shield’s generator.
