Chapter 625: *As if he will give us 2 days when you are the one missing*
Everyone agreed with that, and so Atlas asked Axel, "As you are the one with the best-developed senses, what can you tell us about this world?"
Axel then focused and spread his senses to the surface of this world and told them, "This world is pretty similar to ours. They are almost the same size, and there is a kind of border that separates the evil beings on one side and humans on the other. I can detect Mages and fighters, even Angels, but their territory is only 1/5th of their world, which doesn’t match the description Miguel and Elias gave us."
Indeed, thought Kevin, the human territory in this world should represent 2/3 of it, so something bad had to have really happened to this world.
Kevin then said to everyone, "I think our best option is to find Sora and Lena’s relatives as we had planned, and then, if what happened to this world was caused by Lilith, we will take care of it."
Solomon then asked them, looking at Kevin and Axel in turn as he knew those two had a special link and that they shared everything, "Are we enough to deal with this threat, or should we find a way to send a distress signal to Elias and Miguel?"
Kevin smiled then and told him, "No need to send a distress signal. When Elias doesn’t receive our report in 2 hours, he will know that something is wrong. Then he will give us 2 days, as planned, to contact him, or else they will send reinforcements."
Axel muttered then, "As if he will give us 2 days when you are the one missing... Anyway, in any case, reinforcements will come, so even if the threat is too big for us to handle, we just have to survive until then."
Kevin then told them just to reassure them, "Axel hasn’t detected any serious threat as of now, so it should be fine."
Solomon then put his arm around Sora’s shoulder and asked Axel, "Did you find their relatives?"
Axel then focused on what Sora and Lena’s scent had in common and then deployed his senses once again.
His runic symbols began to shine again, lighting up the whole cave with their golden color, and then Axel said to them, "I found a few people that share the common scent you have. Most of them are in the human territory, but there are 2 of them in the evil being territory, and they are both weak, as if they were wounded... What do you want to do?"
Axel had asked this question to Sora and Lena, but it was Atlas who told them, "Let’s start by rescuing the two who are wounded first, and then we will go to the human territory to find out what happened here."
Solomon then said, "I agree with Atlas, and let’s stay together for now... I’m sure Axel can cloak us with a powerful force field, right?"
Axel nodded and told them, "Only a God as powerful as my father could discover it, so since I don’t feel Lilith’s presence nor any Knights of Darkness, we should be fine."
The most powerful evil beings that Axel could feel were just slightly stronger than Solomon when he was using his demonic aura, so even if they had to confront them to save Sora and Lena’s relatives, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Axel then beckoned them to follow him, and just before leaving the immense cave, he put a powerful force field around them and, before leaving this shelter, Axel engraved on the back of everyone’s left hand, as they were all right-handed, the runic symbol of Instant Teleportation.
Last time, when he was looking for Runes that would be useful to his friends in battle, he had found this one. Although he hadn’t tested it yet, he told them, "This Rune will allow you to teleport 1 km away from the area you are in. I haven’t tested it yet, and although it consumes a bit of chakra or Soul Force to use it, it’s very effective. All you have to do is touch it and think about where you want to teleport to make it work..."
He then looked at Lena, who was neither a Mage nor a fighter, and said to her, "I don’t know if you will be able to use it, but I preferred to engrave it for you anyway, as you always have particles of light around you. Just try to send them into this Rune and try to teleport; it should work."
Lena smiled at him and said to him, "No need to use the light particles around me for that; Miguel helped me to understand how to use my powerful white energy, so I will just use this one to teleport if needed."
Atlas then said to her, "To reassure me... Can you try it? Just teleport next to Kevin to see if it works!"
Lena nodded, and then a white light appeared around her left hand, and she disappeared, reappearing instantly next to Kevin. It was just too awesome.
For fun, they all tried it; even Willow had this Rune engraved on her left hand, and after they all thanked Axel for this wonderful gift, they started moving in this unknown world.
Axel then told them that they were already in the territory of evil beings, and from time to time, they came across cities and villages that had been completely devastated.
While some of the larger cities were now populated by Vampires, Zombies, living skeletons, trolls, and orcs, most of the ruins were abandoned, and the land had become completely barren.
All this devastated landscape was infinitely sad to look at, and despite his exceptional powers, Axel found it hard to contain Lena’s power, which was not coming from her but from the particles of light that were constantly surrounding her, and that were trying by all means possible to pass through his force field to heal this barren land.
