Chapter 608: *The Sages*

Julian then said hurriedly, "Help me to contact her; the communication stones are not working... I can’t reach her."

Miguel then told him, "Our force shields are too strong; you won’t be able to contact her using the communication stone unless you go inside it, but you will be killed instantly if you go inside."

Julian then told him, "Is there no other means to contact her? Can’t you connect our minds together?"

Miguel then smiled and told him, "I can’t... But my husband can; he is a God after all, even if he prefers to never use his God powers."

Elias suddenly appeared next to them, and while he had wanted to tell Miguel that he was pretty busy right now, still arranging the next step for recruiting their allies, he said instead, after evaluating this threat, "How can I help you?"

Miguel then told him, "Julian wants to talk directly with Yelena... This is our last chance; after this, if she can’t shut it down by herself, I will have to destroy her connection with the Cradle of Magic."

Elias nodded; he could feel the power of this energy that was mixing with her chakra, amplifying it immeasurably. While it was truly regrettable that Miguel might have no choice but to destroy the connection Yelena shared with the Cradle of Magic, given the danger this energy represented, if she couldn’t control it, it was the only possible solution for them.

Elias then looked at Julian and said to him, "As you can see, this energy continues to flow here, using the pentagram that Yelena created with her energy reserves. You have two minutes maximum to reverse this trend, or we will be forced to take measures that neither Miguel nor I want to take, is that understood?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Julian nodded, and Elias finally snapped his fingers. A golden beam from Julian’s forehead shot towards Yelena, piercing their super-powered shields as if they didn’t exist.

Just after that, Julian finally heard Yelena’s voice saying desperately, "No, no, no, stop pouring yourself into my world and go back to yours... STOP..."

Julian then said to her, because Elias had given him only 2 minutes to fix this problem, "Yelena, listen to me; we don’t have much time left, so do what I said and trust me."

Since Yelena had stopped talking as soon as she heard his voice, he said to her, "The connection you have with the Cradle of Magic is a blessing, not a curse. Keep circulating your chakra into your different energy reserves to keep the pentagram open, and don’t be scared. Let this energy flow into your meridians; it will strengthen them, and for the energy that is spreading out of your body, don’t be scared either."

Julian then told her, "Have you forgotten that this energy comes from the Cradle of Magic itself and that this energy is pacific? Its aim is not to hurt people but to help them connect with the energy of our Universe. Think about Lena... She is not even a Mage, but wherever she passes, nature blooms and people feel comforted. Yelena, this energy is the same; you can use it to bless people and not to hurt them. We tend to be scared of what we don’t understand, but trust me, this energy is a blessing. Let it flood freely into your body and bless us with it."

Elias then looked at Julian because he could spy on their conversation, and he was really impressed by this man.

A long time ago, long before the war against the Gods began, there were men who had guided him and Miguel to understand their powers, and these men were called the Sages.

They had an understanding of energy being the chakra, the Soul Force, the spiritual energy that no one else had, and they were always the ones Miguel and he went to see if they needed advice. Even though these men didn’t like to fight, they were all great fighters or Mages, depending on the energy they could use.

The last of these men had sacrificed himself to protect him and the Warrior Spirits of the time, and before he died, he had said to him, "Don’t be afraid of your powers, Elias; they are linked to your emotions. Let them invade you and protect them all... Your powers are a blessing for humanity, not a curse. Use them for good."

The words Julian had just used had brought back all these memories to him... And now that the Priests had finally reappeared, could it be that the Sages had too?

Suddenly, a light of exceptional intensity blinded them, and all the shields they had set up were destroyed in one go.

Yelena’s white aura immediately spread throughout the room, and while they were all expecting to be attacked by this aura whose power was immeasurable, nothing happened.

In fact, it was rather the opposite that happened. As they all looked at their bodies bathed in this light, astonished to be still alive and to be perfectly fine, they suddenly felt invigorated, and their energy reserves, which they had all used to create and maintain these force fields in place, were instantly replenished.

But the light didn’t stop there, and as Julian had suggested, it blessed them all, boosting their Basic Stats before finally dissipating little by little.

Finally, they were able to see Yelena, who was still right at the center of the room. Her hair was now as white as Lena’s, and her eyes still hadn’t regained their natural color. Yelena was also looking at her body as if she couldn’t believe it, and Iris gently approached her, calling her name to get her attention.

Yelena looked at her and smiled, and Iris couldn’t help asking, "It’s you, Yelly, isn’t it?"

Yelena nodded, and as she beckoned Iris to join her, her eyes finally returned to their original color. Iris reached her in a flash and hugged her tightly before saying, "I was so scared... I thought I’d lost you when that light shattered our force fields."
