Chapter 589: *No wait!*
If Ashton’s mark of the Union turned golden, then it was serious; it meant that Nolan’s life could be threatened right now by something, and this something was likely to be black particles. But it was impossible; Ian and Jordan had checked his body, and they said that everything was fine...
Kevin then decided to activate his Stage 2, and although his instincts told him that something was indeed wrong with Nolan, he couldn’t see anything suspicious in his body, except that his heartbeat was beating too fast for someone in a coma, as if he was fighting something.
So he said hastily when he saw Axel approach Nolan with Willow in his arms, "No, wait!"
Axel then looked at him and said, "I don’t feel anything wrong, Kev..."
But Kevin said, his eyes still golden, "Come back next to me, now! Stay away from Nolan. If I can’t see what his body is fighting against and Ian and Jordan didn’t see anything either, then it’s probably the same kind of microscopic particles that Lilith had placed in Atlas’s Soul force reserve... Ashton, you’re probably already contaminated, and as for Phil, those black particles aren’t controlled by Lilith, so even if some of them got into his body, they must have gone straight to the black particles reserve he has, and it won’t affect him."
Axel then asked him, "What do we do then? We can’t leave him like this; maybe I can..."
But Kevin cut him off again and said, "No, you can’t do anything to help them if you can’t see these black particles, but Lena can save them. Her white light saved Atlas back then, and I know she’s been training to use it ever since."
Axel then handed Willow over to him and said, "I’ll be right back!"
Kevin didn’t even have time to nod when Axel had already teleported himself near Lena, and luckily their world wasn’t that big, so thanks to his highly developed senses, Axel could spot anyone he wanted without a problem and teleported to them.
Kevin then said to Ashton once Axel had left, "Don’t worry, we’re going to purify your bodies, and Willow will help Nolan come out of this coma; everything is going to be fine."
But suddenly Nolan’s body went into convulsions, and Ashton paled as Kevin told him to get out of the bed.
Kevin then enveloped Nolan with light particles, and his body stopped convulsing, but the green that surrounded Nolan was already starting to fade like it was being eaten away by something that they couldn’t see.
Kevin then looked at Willow and he got scared; he couldn’t see these black particles, but they were there; otherwise, the green aura he had surrounded Nolan with wouldn’t have started to fade so quickly.
Ashton suddenly fell to his knees and started coughing up blood, but he got up quickly and went back to take Nolan in his arms as his convulsions were over... Ashton knew that Kevin was right; he could feel that his body was starting to deteriorate, but he wasn’t scared anymore because, while guessing the cause of their problem, Kevin had also found a solution to help them.
Kevin looked at them helplessly and worriedly, and suddenly Axel reappeared with Lena, who wasted no time in spreading her white light across the room. During her training with Miguel, Lena had mastered this fantastic power, and now she could use it as she wished without any risk.
She could make this light more deadly than any other source of energy, but she could also use it, as she was doing now, simply to purify a body or a room of black particles.
Axel could see that by the time he explained the situation to Lena, Nolan and Ashton’s health had deteriorated further, and Kevin explained to him what had happened through their link.
Lena’s white light enveloped them all; that way, if the black particles had started to spread in the air, they would disappear, and everyone would also have their bodies purified.
When Lena’s white light disappeared, she told them it was all right now, and Kevin finally approached Ashton and Nolan.
While he was checking that Ashton’s body had regenerated thanks to Lena’s healing power, the soft melody of Willow’s Phoenix could be heard. Ashton then looked at his mark of the Union and heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that it had returned to normal, which meant that the danger was over and that these black particles that were threatening both of their lives had been truly eliminated.
Kevin then turned and said to Lena, "Thank you; you saved them both. Without you, we would have lost them; not even Miguel could deal with this kind of problem."
Lena smiled at him and said, "You’re wrong, my King. Master Miguel has received all the knowledge he needs from the Cradle of Magic itself, so from now on, he can master any type of spell, magic, or energy source. It was Miguel who taught me how to control my powers, and he’s capable of using them far better than I am, so next time you’ll know he’s capable of saving you too."
Kevin didn’t know that Miguel had received this kind of gift the last time Yelena had been used as a vessel by the Cradle of Magic, but knowing that Miguel was capable of using this kind of magic was a real relief.
Axel then said to him, while Willow was still helping Nolan to wake up, "Maybe you could try to copy that spell... If it’s really a spell, it would be great if you could use it too."
Kevin then looked at Lena, who smiled at him, and she made that white light appear again and enveloped her own body, telling him, "Try it, my King; Axel is right; it could only benefit all of us if you can use it too."
Kevin nodded, and then he activated his observation skill to copy whatever Lena’s white light was.
