Chapter 484: *If he can... ?*
Atlas then smiled, feeling grateful, and took the magic bag from him. He thanked him again before closing the door to their suite.
After that, Solomon went back to Sora’s suite, but now that he knew she was okay and was looking at the memories of her little boy, he was reluctant to stay.
He was still worried, but he wasn’t sure if Sora would enjoy his company when she woke up... maybe she would rather be alone after viewing her son’s memories.
Solomon walked over to the side of the bed where Sora was and placed another magic bag, identical to the one he had just given to Atlas, on the nightstand.
Then he sat on the edge of the bed and took Sora’s hand in his. Of course, he wanted to stay with her; he had dreamed of this moment thousands of times.
He caressed her wrist gently where the marks of the chains she had worn for 17 years were imprinted in her flesh, and the hatred he had felt for the King that Axel had killed then turned against these two Goddesses. Because of them, their world had known calamities and hundreds of thousands of them had perished.
He had known nothing but war since he was born, and the only chance he had was to have a great and loving family. And all the suffering that the people he loved had undergone was because of these two Goddesses.
So now that he had just been given permission by his King to go and fight them and their army, he was determined to get revenge, and he would make them pay dearly for attacking their world.
He leaned in a little, enough to whisper in her ear, "Sora, my Queen, I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to spend as much time with you as I would like... Darling, I will make them pay for everything you have been through; you have my word."
He then straightened up and kissed the hollow of her wrist, where the bruises from the chains were still visible. Just as he was about to leave the room, Sora abruptly seized his wrist, catching him by surprise; he hadn’t expected her to wake up so soon after what Lena told him.
Solomon then immediately sat down next to her and asked her, worried because Sora was still very pale, "Sora, how are you feeling? Do you need anything?"
A tear then rolled down her cheek, which broke Solomon’s heart, and she said in a weak voice, "Don’t leave me... Stay with me, please?"
Solomon nodded right away and told her, "I’m right here; I won’t go anywhere until you tell me to leave, okay?"
Sora then looked at him and asked shyly, "Can you lie down beside me and hold me in your arms?"
If he could...? The woman he desperately loved had just asked him to lie down beside her and hold her in his arms, and she really thought he was going to say no.
Solomon then stroked her cheek tenderly where her tear had fallen and asked her, "Before I lay down beside you, is there anything you need?"
Sora shook her head, and perhaps unconsciously, she still held his wrist tightly as if she were really afraid he would leave.
Solomon then motioned for her to move over a bit and lifted the blanket slightly before joining her. Sora had asked him to hold her in his arms, and he didn’t want there to be a blanket between them.
He knew perfectly well that she was sad and shaken by the death of her little boy, and this opportunity might never come again. So for once, he was going to take advantage of the situation, and he wanted to feel the warmth of Sora’s body against his.
Sora came of her own to snuggle in his arms, and he stroked her hair and back without saying anything, cherishing this moment.
After a while, Sora finally moved away from him and said a little embarrassed, "I heard what you said earlier... But I don’t understand..."
Solomon then stroked her cheek tenderly and asked her in his deep and hoarse voice, "What don’t you understand, Sora?"
Sora then asked him, looking him in the eye, "How are you going to make them pay for what they did to me... They are Goddesses, and..."
She then showed him her wrist and said to him, "I know very well how powerful they are."
Solomon smiled sadly at her and kissed her wrist again, looking at her before saying, "I know... I won’t be the one to kill them because I’m not powerful enough, but the Warrior Spirits have just agreed to let us go to war with them so we can fight alongside them. Only the demons who have managed to activate their demonic aura can accompany them, and after tomorrow, we will start training with them. That’s why I won’t be able to spend as much time with you as I’d like... Darling."
Sora had just confessed that she had heard him, so he didn’t have to hide his feelings for her anymore.
He didn’t know if he would come back alive from this war, but if he did come back then, she needed to know his feelings for her, "Sora, I love you; I love you so much... I have loved you for a very long time."
As she didn’t say anything, he continued, "I’ve been looking forward to this day when you’d be free again. I had hoped to have time to court you and maybe seduce you... But there is an even greater threat hanging over our world, and every demon, man, and Shapeshifter who can go into battle can make the difference between victory and defeat. More than to get revenge on these Goddesses, it is my duty to go and fight."
Sora then sighed and said to him, "I understand better now... But if it’s your duty to go and fight, then you won’t go alone; I want to fight too!"
