Chapter 418: *The battle of the Royal Palace part 18*
Miguel then said, "The method they used at that time was different from the one I used to seal the world of the Titans, but it was just as effective. The place where the energy was located to continue powering their shield around their world was guarded by the oldest and most powerful Angels and evil creatures of their world. They had been chosen as guardians because they had all lived through hell under the rule of a tyrannical God and had fought together to chase him away."
His story was captivated them, so his plan to ease the tension was working well, "They had all sworn to fight until the end to protect this source of energy and to prevent such a calamity from befalling their world again, and since then, their world had lived mostly in peace. Sometimes wars broke out because the evil creatures, after all, were greedy creatures, and they liked to sow discord, terror, and feed on human beings. But the Angels and their Paladins kept the peace by exterminating the evil creatures that didn’t respect their agreement on the territories they had shared after the God had been chased out of their world."
Miguel finally told them, "After talking to them a bit more, we realized that they had managed to chase away the God who lived in their world before Elias even started the war against the Gods with the Warrior Spirits and began to exterminate them all. We explained to them that the Gods were no longer allowed to live in worlds where living beings were present and that they could only live in a plane of existence reserved for them. We also explained to them that they could still intervene from time to time in the worlds that belonged to them and in those that had no master, but that they no longer had to worry because the fear that the Warrior Spirits and Elias inspired in them made them stay quiet."
He looked at Lena and Sora and said, "We told them that all the races were now living free from their oppression and that therefore their shield was no longer necessary. But then they revealed to us that some of the evil creatures of the new generation, who hadn’t known the suffering that a superior being was capable of bringing to their world and who only wanted to expand their territory, had succeeded in combining their power to open a portal and let a God enter their world. They told us that this God was rapidly expanding his power and that he was slaughtering both the evil creatures and the humans who refused to submit to him."
Isaac immediately said, "Impossible! If a God did such a thing, Elias would have known about it right away, and we would have gone to deal with him. Miguel, why didn’t you ever tell us about this world?"
Miguel shrugged and said, "It happened during a relatively quiet period when Elias and I were discovering new worlds. Each of you had returned to your respective worlds, and when we all met up again, a lot of other things had happened in between."
Caleb was more and more intrigued, and he asked him, curious, "So, was it a God or something else?"
Miguel smiled at them and said, "Even though Elias and I had a hard time believing it at first, it was indeed a God. Because after all, as Isaac said, Elias would have known that a God doesn’t play by the rules, and that was one of the conditions he had obtained from the Creator himself to stop his massacre and become the God of War. If a God abused his power against innocent people again, Elias was immediately warned, and he could deal with that God as he saw fit, even killing him depending on the severity of his crimes. Only, after the Angels led us to where the last massacre had taken place, to our astonishment, the energy that was still there was indeed that of a God."
Isaac then said, thinking aloud, "That’s impossible... Unless... Unless their shield and the fact that they managed to seal their world also protected this God from being discovered by us."
Miguel then said to him, "Bingo! It was indeed because of their shield that Elias had not received notification about this God, because when a world is sealed, it is left to itself, and it goes out of our protection. This God, after realizing that we weren’t intervening, deduced the same thing we did, and he took advantage of it to sow terror and extend his power. The Angels and Paladins, although powerful, were no match for a God. The races of this world are very special, but against a God, they could do nothing. Angels, who are much more powerful than Paladins, can only use particles of light, and the strongest evil creatures can only use particles of darkness, which is far from enough to get rid of a God."
He told them, "When we finally managed to locate and kill this God, we gained the trust of these creatures, and they allowed us to stay a while in their world to study them. After a few months spent with them, we tried to convince them to unseal their world and that there was no more danger for them; that they could go explore other worlds if they wanted to and exchange resources with them. But when we left, they were still debating whether or not to remove their energy shield. So, just in case they decided to keep it, we provided them with spatial communication stones to contact us if they ever encountered this type of incident again. The Angels who greeted us when we arrived opened another portal for us to leave, and I haven’t heard from this world since then."
Caleb then said, "So if they removed their shields, it is possible that some of them decided to explore other worlds and landed here."
Miguel nodded and said, "Lena has all the characteristics of an Angel, and even her appearance looks like theirs. As for Sora... Where did you learn this fighting stance? After all, you are a mage; in this world, mages don’t learn to fight; they only fight with their spells?"
